I had fifteen minutes to kill before heading over to the restaurant to pick up my food. I decided to check out the stores across from this restaurant, as I haven't been here in ages. I found this Gong Cha between the Bell store and Tahini's. The food scene is much better here than it was a couple of years ago. I saw RUDY nearby, and a Mac and Wings plac, too! This plaza always has a lot of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in. Two staffers were there. The male one greeted me immediately and was so friendly. I was looking at the daily specials. I wanted a fruit drink and the daily special was a milk one. I was looking at the drink menu and got completely sidetracked by the cute Line Friends keychains in front of me. I got the Binini (brown bear) keychain. Okay, back to the menu... I ordered a large peach green tea with coconut jelly. My usual is to get it with no sugar and less ice, which I did. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. Both the male and female staffers worked on my drink. I barely had time to take more photos when my drink was ready. I thanked both of them and headed out with my drink. After I had picked up my dinner at Swiss Chalet, I took the backroads home and had my drink. I had an issue with the straw. The pointy end of the straw wasn't sturdy enough. I actually crushed it trying to stab my drink's seal with it. I ended up using a sturdier bubble tea straw that I had in my car (I have reusable straws and cutlery in my car because I'm ridiculously prepared for emergency drink and food issues). Much better! I loved my drink. It was cold and delicious. The peach flavour was perfect. I could taste the green tea. The coconut jelly made this drink sweet and I love it. So good! It must have been tough--a new store halfway to opening when the virus shut down construction. Not long after the restrictions were loosened, the store opened even with the odd carton of yet to be unpacked store fixtures sitting against the wall. The store is not completely finished, but 95% at least. That won't stop me. I'm just glad they are open. I mean REALLY GLAD!! They get 2.5 stars…read more QQ blueberry juice: 50% sugar was about right. QQ juice was not just sugar: I think there was something else in it. There was both tapioca & coconut jelly which were nice. The blueberry flavour was weak though & their regular size is probably the smallest around. Oddly the 30% sugar cup was sweeter & had a stronger blueberry flavour than the 50%, so their quality control isn't good.
