If I could give zero star I went to chatters in chillwack was very clear what I want and the color I was there 4 hrs , my hair colour is yellow and green tints I asked for my natural color brown I was very upset I was crying , they didn't do anything for hair cut was jagged and very uneven I asked for a manager was told no one was there until Tuesday but someone would call me on Monday , no called I had to go to work looking like this people laughing at me I never ever felt so awful I left chatters wearing a hat 375.00 later they said I still had to pay ... I'm already self conscious now I'm a million times worst this is worse then a box dye hair job , no one cares to address it I have called everywhere This is so bad and awful read more

Took my daughter here for a hair cut. We arrived on time. Had to wait 15 min. I verbally told the hairdresser what to do. My daughter had beautiful curtain bangs that she loved . I told the hair dresser to trim them I went across the mall to grab a few things while my 12 hear old was getting the haircut. I returned and my daughter was standing waiting for me outside the salon in tears. The hair dresser took her long curtain bangs and butchered them. They were above her eyebrows!!!! What in the hell did the hair dresser not get from the term teim the curtain bangs. I was furious, and will never ever be back. Thank you again for making my 12 year old daughter so upset. read more

I have been going to Chatters in Chilliwack for over 3 years now. My hairdresser is Mary and she is marvelous. I have my hair bleached and then dyed many colors. We have dyed my hair every color imaginamal lol and Mary is always up for the challenge. I am an older woman and I really have no desire to have beige hair,but the skill required to do what I want is immense. Mary has mad skills and people are always complimenting my hair. If you would like a skilled colorist Mary is your girl. read more

Myself and my daughters have been going to Chatters for many years and have had very good service, when a cut isn't satisfactory they fix it free of charge. However this last incident has made me think twice about every going there again. My daughter graduated this year and was very disappointed to learn she would not have a prom. We had picked up her beautiful dress up and had it altered days before the Covid restrictions in March. Once things started to open up her friends mom and I decided to have a Prom BBQ for the girls where they could dress up, get their hair and make up done, to make up for their cancelled Prom. The girls phoned and made an appointment to have their hair done together at Chatters. The week before the backyard prom I received a voice mail stating my daughters appointment is cancelled. When I called the salon for an explanation I was told that she had been booked with a hairdresser that was not supposed to be scheduled that day and would not be in. I explained that this is not a simple trim or colouring that could be rescheduled this was for an event that day; in fact we had a timeline for the day including pictures with family at a location. I was offered a later time that day that would not work. There didn't seem to much of an effort to make up for this, simply an apology. Luckily her big brother works with some very talented people and one of them that works in film stepped up to come out from Vancouver to do her hair and make up. Thankfully she will not have to suffer another disappointment with all that has been taken from her by Covid!!! read more

I've been to chatters a number of times to various stylists and have never had any bad experiences. Last time I went to Rene and will never go to another stylist again! She assessed my hair, gave me tips and tricks on products to use and how to care for and style my new do. She may be a bit more expensive than the other stylists but is more than worth it! read more

My 94-year-old Mom just had her hair cut, and it was horrible. First, we arrived on time for our appointment, but had to wait for 20 minutes. Then, as Mom was about to sit down, the girl moved her walker out of the way and Mom almost fell. Then the girl (who told Mom that she had most recently been the receptionist, and that she had just started cutting hair) didn't put a cape on her until Mom asked for one. The haircut is awful - no attempt to make her hair at the back lie flat, way too long on top and on the sides - I could do a better job and I have no idea how to cut hair! And the salon was messy, with boxes piled up in the corner. We won't be back! read more

I have naturally brown hair and was interested in going blonde. I asked the stylist for a cool ash blonde colour and provided photos. $340 later and my hair is literally yellow-orange. I will absolutely not be coming back. For $340, I should have got what I asked for. read more

Not sure why I gave them another shot!? Erin was cutting my husband and sons hair, my daughter and I started seeing her too. I normally get highlights in spring, I showed Erin a picture of a balayage due that I wanted, she said she could do it and advised some pureology shampoo and conditioner to prep my hair (expensive). A couple of months later I went in to have the process done, her disclaimer was that it may take an additional session or two to achieve what I wanted. I felt like she was playing it safe by saying that. She had Vicki the manager talk to me and tell me the same thing, when I told her that Erin was plying it safe and afraid to mess my hair up, she responded no hair dresser can or should ever guarantee a hair colour? I sat down and waited another 10 or so minutes to finally have Vicki come back to ask if I was able to come back another day with a more experienced hair dresser . I became mad at this point since I set up a sitter and was anticipating a new look! Literally, she didn't even try! WOW read more

I just have to say that I am so sick of paying 50 bucks for a trim that ALWAYS leaves me unsatisfied. I usually go to Chatters because it's in the mall which makes it easy to go to, but at this point I'm just flat out done. My most recent trim resulted in nothing that I asked for: I wanted about an inch taken off, to clear up my split ends, and for some face-framing to be added so that there will be something there when I toss my hair up. I swear I have more split ends now somehow, and my sister agrees with me. Oh, and no face framing whatsoever! I wear glasses and am very nearsighted so taking off my glasses for a hair cut feels like Russian Roulette, I gotta learn to wear my contacts when I go in and to actually be vocal when my stylist does what I don't want. The worst part of my most recent experience? I have admittedly flat, thin, oily hair. What did my stylist do? Coat it in oil (which I didn't ask for) and then straighten it so that it laid EVEN FLATTER on my head (which I also didn't ask for, I don't like using heat products very often). I'm so unsatisfied and I feel like she didn't listen to me at all. Other trims at this salon in the past have left me with unevenly cut hair, chunks shorter or longer, split ends totally missed, etc. And actually full hair cuts and colours? Even worse. I had my hair coloured there twice. First time was getting highlights redone (should have gone back to the PROFESSIONAL who did them but he was booked solid). They were a soft honey gold and a dark red. I left the salon with bleach blonde and bright red streaks. The second time, a few years later, I wanted an all over red colour. Over one hundred dollars later and my naturally dark brown hair was... Black. With a bit of a red tint in the sun. That lasted a grand total of four weeks. I consistently had better experiences with eight dollar box dyes. I took a big chop twice at Chatters over the years. The first time I took in a picture of Victoria Beckham's angled bob a few years ago. I left with a limp, very harshly cut and not at all angled bob; honestly it looked like I cut it myself. The second time, about four years later, I wanted my very long hair cut into a pixie. A pixie, something sharp and edgy, not frumpy soccer mom hair, I'm in my early 20s. You know how sometimes short hair will have that dated round look to it in the back? My stylist basically gave me Kate Gosslin's hair, it was awful. An ex of mine also had several unsatisfying experiences at Chatters, namely one where they left his hair dripping wet after a cut and didn't dry it or anything, still charged him a ridiculous amount that you could only expect with a full shampoo + cut +style. So I'm happy to say that after almost ten years of total disappointment I have learned my lesson and am going to switch salons for good. I don't want to attack a particular stylist because I have never seen one more than once and everyone has been at least appropriately friendly (though a few have been weirdly untalkative, which it distressing for someone who can't see when you're cutting their hair), but the hiring team really has to step up their game when it comes to hiring people who can actually work with hair, please.
