This off-the-beaten-path restaurant was recommended to us by the proprietor of Cellars Augustus Forum, in El Vendrell, who make well known vinegar and somewhat less well-known wine. The restaurant is run by a guy from Columbia, and it's a small operation. We went there for a late lunch, and he was both waiter and cook. Only Spanish spoken. Value for money was fantastic, as was quality and quantity of the food. We had the set course lunch, which was 4 courses, but each course was practically a full meal. First, a huge salad, then a huge appetizer, then a huge main course, then a huge dessert. As you can imagine, we ended up not being able to eat it all, but it was all really good. If you're wine touring in the Penedes, this is a great place at which to eat, though it's a bit difficult to find. Castellet i la Gornal is a small village off the main highway and the restaurant is not visible from said highway, though there is a sign. If you manage to find it, there is a parking lot, but otherwise, park somewhere close by and just look lost; someone will direct you if you ask for the restaurant (assuming you can find someone -- we wandered around for a while before someone asked "are you looking for the restaurant?"). read more
