I want to start by saying that the work and communication was decent. Abel communicated enough, letting me know when they would arrive, and they arrived and did the work. They did a good job with what they were hired to do, which was cut back some vine growth on a wall behind my house. That's where the good experience ends. I had turf installed in my backyard less than a year ago. Anyone who has had this done knows it's not cheap. The guys used a ladder and chainsaws to do the work, and well, chainsaws get hot. They put the chainsaws on the ground between dragging the debris to their truck, and in doing so, proceeded to melt my turf in numerous spots. I did not realize they had done the damage until I inspected afterwards. It did seem like they were hurrying out of there, but I didn't think anything of it until I saw the damage they had clearly done. NONE of them mentioned the OBVIOUS damage, and instead cleared out and left as fast as they could. I immediately contacted the owner (Abel) via text, and he simply replied "what can I do?". I told him I would have to get an estimate of the cost of the damage from my turf guy. He replied "Ok". That was the last I ever heard from Abel or Chavez Trees. I have since sent numerous texts concerning the damage and the estimate I received from the turf company to repair the damage. I'm fairly sure I'll never hear from Abel or Chavez Tree. Hopefully Abel reads this and realizes his mistake. Unfortunately there is not much I can do, but I can tell everyone here what happened in hopes that they will not hire people who aren't trustworthy and forthcoming about damage they do to their clients property, accidental or not. All you had to do is call me and talk to me. You chose to avoid it. Don't let this happen to you! I def would not recommend hiring these guys. read more

Abel provided a reasonable quote for the original scope of work. When that changed he was able to adapt his quote to that, His crew was efficient and performed the work to exacting standards. My Live Oak is now trimmed and lifted. My Japanese Blueberry is trimmed back to where it wasn't frost bitten and is recovering. He was able to remove the dead Mexican Fan palm tree from my back yard the same day, after he examined it and found it to be frost bitten and rotting at the top.
