Although I've been seeing doctors at this clinic for over a decade, I've had my fair share of issues with them. To begin with, they tried to bill me for my adult daughter, who is married and lives independently. They even sent me all her appointment information as if I were responsible for her care -- a clear HIPAA violation. I've recently moved and will be transferring my medical records elsewhere. I spoke with a staff member last week who informed me I had a $50 outstanding bill -- something I was completely unaware of, especially since I have insurance and never received any prior notice. Within a week of that phone call, I started receiving calls and a bill from a collection agency (CBSC) -- over $50. Really?! Years ago, I would have recommended this place, but not anymore -- especially since all the good doctors I used to see are no longer there. Visit at your own risk. read more

Had my first visit w/Dr Lubin and Aisha. I have severe PTSD and get overwhelmed quickly w/new people. Both were so friendly and kind with me that I didn't even experience mild anxiety. I had a front tooth that has been discolored for several years now causing me to rarely smile so others wouldn't notice. It has seriously affected my confidence, and I dreaded how much properly fixing it would end up costing. In under 40 min they had completely transformed my front tooth within my insurance limits. There was zero pain. I darn near cried when I got home and examined it in the mirror. This was such a stress free visit and procedure for me. I couldn't possibly be more grateful. read more

Was having health issues and thought I would try them out so I went on line and scheduled an appointment. First appointment I could get was three weeks out. The next day someone canceled my appointment when I called to ask why I was told new patients have to fill out forms first and do a new patients interview. The next day I did the new patient interview and now the next appointment is a month away. When I arrived at me appointment the person who checked me in said that i was scheduled for a wellness visit and there would be no co-pay. I saw the doctor and went home. A week later CHDC starts emailing me "click here emails from a different domain to see my bill. Being security minded I refused to click here on a email and my patient portal says I am all paid up. Another week goes by and I receive a bill for my co-pay in the mail. For three days I try to call billing to ask them why they are collecting a co-pay on a wellness visit that by law they are not allowed to collect. Finally I get a call back and was told it was a new patient visit and that I need to pay the co-pay. I told them it was scheduled as a wellness visit and was confirmed to be a wellness visit when I checked it. They would not listen to me and said they can not do a wellness visit until a new patient visit was done. So they want me to see the doctor twice when we had discussed everything in the first visit. Can Not recommend! This place is everything that is wrong with health care in this country. read more

I had a great experience today because Ms. Dahlia explained to me what was going on in my mouth. I've been to dentists before and I always hated it because because when you ask them to explain they use these words that just go over your head. Basically when they explain, it just makes you more confused. I recently saw Dr. Syed Fahim at CHDC in Pottstown for the first time. I was given x-rays by an assistant who was apparently trying to cause as much discomfort as possible as she shoved the bitewings in my mouth, often times not positioned properly causing cuts/abrasions and making it impossible to bite down. When I would wince, move, or express that I was unable to bite in that position, she would audibly sigh and grow impatient. When that was thankfully over, she yelled out to the doctor that she was ready for him. Dr. Fahim arrived, looked at the x-rays, told me I had three cavities, and did a cursory examination with only a mirrored tool that lasted approximately one minute. During this time, I told him that I had temperature sensitivity and was unable to chew on the left side. He seemed to brush it off, equating it to my cavities. I was told that I was done and to schedule my appointments for a cleaning and fillings at the front desk. Please note that you can only get one filling per visit, forcing people to come back multiple times, presumably to max out their billables on office visits. For my second visit for a filling, the assistant put the Q-Tip with lidocaine on the right side of my mouth. She removed it several minutes later right before the dentist entered the room. He then proceeded to inject Novocain into the opposite side of my mouth. I stopped him to ask if we were all on the same page, because she had topically numbed the right and he was injecting the left. They conferred the x-rays, realized there were cavities on both sides and decided to proceed with numbing and filling both. He drills both teeth in preparation for the fillings, and then announces that he's done and the ASSISTANT will complete the fillings?!? Never in my life has a dental assistant completed a filling. As if all of this weren't bad enough, at no point during his overly brief examination (when I told him of my sensitivity and inability to chew), nor when he was drilling on an adjacent tooth, did he notice the molar with a large black hole in it and obvious signs of infection. This was discovered by my doctor a few days later when I made an appointment for what I thought was an ear infection (significant pain on the side of my face and jaw area, swollen glands, low grade fever). He prescribed strong antibiotics and told me I would need to see a dentist as soon as possible. I (obviously) went to see a different (reputable) dentist, who explained that the tooth would need a root canal or extraction right away. This place is a dental chop shop--all the seats full, keep 'em moving--with doctors/staff that either don't have the time, experience, or desire to properly treat patients. read more

I recently received health insurance and was prepared to finally get healthy. I made an appointment to meet my new Primary. Upon arrival, they changed my primary to a new nurse practitioner. At the time, I was ok with it. She prescribed me two medications after applying medication many times. I realized it wasn't working and one was actually burning my skin. Come to find out she prescribed me acne medicine for eczema and a fungal shampoo for psoriasis. It is a little disturbing that I remember her saying I prescribe this one often for psoriasis. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I was charged for a Telehealth with her to review my results to learn I received my news via Tower Health Patient Portal and she did not receive my results on her end. She was ALWAYS days behind on my CANCER results. I knew before her, but could not decipher what the results meant. It was terrifying. If I could give zero stars I would this place is absolutely terrible I am so sick of them changing appointments or telling me my daughter needs to get in there sooner and they'll call me with there's an opening and never calling me. If I could give them one star I would. Skip my rant and go straight to Valley Forget OBG/YN instead. They take most insurances and have facilities in Pottstown, Limerick, etc. I made an appt. here 2 months in advanced because that was the waiting period. That's understandable and I had no issue with that. Community Health and Dental has two different building on the same lot that are not distinguished from each other. I arrived on time for my appointment to the wrong building and had to wait for the receptionist as she was busy with other patients. Once I spoke with her she pointed me in the right direction and told me she would call up to let them know I was on my way since it was now 5 minutes after my appointment time. It took me maybe a minute to drive to the other side of the lot and walk into the building. The receptionist there told me that they would have to reschedule my appointment because I was late. It was 11:06 am. 6 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I understand the importance of punctuality but 6 minutes when I had to wait 5 just to speak to the other receptionist? Really? I explained that I had to wait 2 months for this appointment and that it was a wellness appointment that I needed to have. The receptionist told me I could wait around to see if someone else didn't show up (really???) or I would have to reschedule. The providers were laughing behind the door and talking the entire time so instead of keeping my appointment they decided to socialize between themselves. It wasn't the receptionists fault as she was just the messenger but she was also rude and callous. I don't believe healthcare providers should act like this and I will not be going back to them. I contacted Valley Forge Women's Health and explained the situation and they were very happy to help me to get an appointment right away. read more

Worst family practice in the area. Don't bother! All of front desk staff are rude, uneducated, and unprofessional. And if you make an appointment you BETTER make it, doesn't matter if you speak to someone to reschedule, or have a major emergency, etc. You WILL be put on same day punishment where the only way you can make an appointment is to call everyday sit there on hold listening to their awful recording for over an hour to try to get in that day to be told they don't have anything or they do but it's RIGHT NOW and you have to drop everything and rush over there. It's the stupidest most ridiculous system ever. Also patient portal never works, never updated, erases your appts etc . Two months ago, I went to the dental side to get 2 cavities filled. The dentist was making sexist remarks to me about how I need to make sure I'm spending more time in the kitchen cooking (because I'm a female) & joked to the assistant that she should write in my chart that I know how to cook. There were other little comments, too, but I put up with it because I knew he was about to put sharp objects into my mouth & didn't want him mad while doing it. The dental assistant made a big deal about me wanting to get both of the cavities done at the same time (they were right next to each other) instead of doing 1 & then coming in another time to do the other. The dentist decided it was fine to do both, though, so she started prepping me. When he put the novocain in my gum, he fishhooked my cheek with his finger, braced his other fingers behind my jaw, and then violently shook my jaw and cheek. It hurt SO bad!!! I've gotten cavities filled before, & NEVER experienced anything like that. As a result, I was bruised for 3 weeks & my jaw now pops out of place and aches badly to this day, 2 months later. The dental assistant was incredibly rough while putting my fillings in, and I ended up with cuts all across the inside of my cheek & gums. While she was working on me, she was complaining to another assistant that this is taking too long because she wasn't expecting to do 2 cavities. The other assistant said that they had another patient waiting, and my assistant told her she would hurry and get done with me as quick as she can. She was rushing the whole time & wasn't even able to get my bite done properly. The dentist ended up coming back to try to get the bite fitting correctly, and I'm not confident he even accomplished that because the fillings are still painful. Now, 2 months later, I still can't allow ANYTHING to touch those fillings or I will be in extreme pain, and my jaw still hurts like crazy! I'm unable to use the right side of my mouth at all now, and I'm worried I've been permanently injured. I have never been treated so poorly in a medical office, and without a doubt, what I experienced was pure abuse. read more

I have insurance now that covers some but they still give me my 60% discount for the rest. I've been going there for years and never had a problem. read more

The receptionist is very friendly but everything else about this place I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!! If you have children DO NOT bring them here for dentistry. I'm stuck running around finding another dentist again, what an effin fiasco! If they weren't going to do xrays & cleaning etc the receptionist on the phone prior to me calling and making the appointments should have told me, then I wouldn't have come here in the first place, they gave me a paper of where they refer children to go to WTF @Q#$#%$#%$ The dental hygienist said all children who come in to have their teeth looked at they end up giving this paper to parents with a list of other dental providers to go too. Literally the worst doctors office ever! Receptionists are cold and unhelpful. Billing is an absolute joke! I've been double billed and over billed half a dozen times in the last two years. The doctors are beyond incompetent. The last doctor I saw insisted the medication my specialist had put me on was not actually for my condition, because it was just easier than admitting he'd never heard of it. No one in this facility is good at or cares about their job and they don't try to hide it. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. I understand that the face of Dental care is rapidly changing. More and more "clinics" are surfacing. Given that 36% of the American population is without dental insurance, the need for such is quite evident. I was informed of this "clinic" by a friend who is unemployed and without any medical or dental benefit. I mention this because anyone that has dental coverage needs to stay far away from this place. In my case, I was between insurances and of course, an emergency occurred. I do not want to go into ALL the nonsense that occurred there. More importantly are the things you need to know if you are financial strapped, uninsured and/or DESPERATE First, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING I MEAN EVERYTHING. The prices for service are based on your income. Apparently they really do not check very well.and any ole paper will do. Such is the case with the person who referred me. He produced an old W-2 form and they accepted that!. I, however, did produce my current income. What does that tell you about how they decide what to charge you. Lie and you will get a DEEPER discount. Secondly, the unsanitary way instruments, dental lights, head rest etc. Well ,..Not once did I see anyone cleaning anything from patient to patient. Assembly line care. LOL when the dental assistant dons her gloves exits the room ( with the gloves still on) reenters the room I WANTED TO SCREAM " CHANGE YOU GLOVES". I noted the Dentist did also this, touching computer screens exiting the room touching cabinets. Do not expect CLEANLINESS here. I equivocate this to a kind of third world experience.atmosphere. Thirdly I was totally amazed that the Dental asst. QUOTE prices? They tell you want you are going to pay. Ask for the business officer and she is too busy. Fourthly. GET NAMES. No one wears a name tag. My experience was the dental technician quoted me prices but in my electronic record was no such encounter.My next visit was a game of "WHO TOLD YOU THIS? and WHO SAID THAT?". The record keeping MUST be AWFUL Finally the WORST part is that I went in needing 1 ROOT CANAL. ,but, because of their TOTAL INCOMPETENCE and CARELESSNESS now need 2. LOL they DX the WRONG TOOTH. I wish I COULD SUE. They explained I presented with so much pain that it was hard to tell. I just LOVE IT it WAS MY FAULT. Never have I EVER had a DENTIST DX the wrong TOOTH, especially over such an EXPENSIVE procedure. Now I need more root canal AND an ADDITIONAL CROWN. $$$$$$$$$$$ PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST....Oh 1 more thing, I was sent a bill for a service that was never performed and the $350.00 I did pay was not credited to my account balance I can not wait to fight this one out with them. After today's experience if I could rate them in negative numbers, I would. I have been a patient at Community Health and Dental. Last week, I had to be hospitalized due to chest pain. When I was discharged, I was told to follow up with Dr. Haug this week. I was given a 10:00 am appointment on 10/8/15. I live in Pottstown. I work in Exton. With traffic, it is almost a one hour commute. A 10:00 am doctor appointment means having to take half a day off from work. After my stay in the hospital, I don't have any leave time. On the day of my appointment, I arrived at Community Health and Dental at a about 9:57-9:58. There was another person at the window ahead of me, so when I got to the window to check in it was 10:02. I was told I was late, they have a zero tolerance for lateness, and that they would not see me. I explained my circumstances. I was in the hospital last week. I was working from home today; which is normally not an option. I have zero leave time, so I can't come in any old time. The woman at the window was extremely rude, and said that is not their problem. Aren't doctors supposed to care about their patients? Again, it was 10:02, and I actually was in the building at 10:00. It is not my fault there was someone ahead of me in line. She suggested that maybe I could get an evening sick call appointment next week sometime, but I would have to call in that day. Then, because I was so angry about this experience of disrespect, I began having chest pain again. I know about customer service. It is a major component of my job. At best this was terrible customer service, and shows a total lack of regard or concern for their patients. At worst, it might be out and out negligence - I was just released from the hospital and needed to follow up with my doctor. Now, I have to go through the hassle of trying to find a new doctor. I've been taking my child to Community Health and Dental for almost 18 months. He was 4 when they first say him. He had x-rays taken in the office as well as one tooth filled for a cavity. Rob the Hygentist is amazing and wonderful with my son. I wasn't always a large fan of the dentist, but I have no problems with anyone on the dental side of this facility. Rob recommends what can be done at home to help improve oral health in my son and myself. It had been almost a decade since I was last at the dentist before taking my son. They weren't judgemental and nothing but kind and supportive. I highly recommend Community Health and Dental for individuals looking for a dentist. read more

If I could give no stars I would. DONT RISK YOUR LIFE OR RECOVERY BY GOING HERE. The doctors have put me and my mother in the hospital more than once. They violate the Americans with Disabilities act and discriminate against patients with disabilities (especially mental issues). In the 6 months I have been there giving them another chance (used to be their patient in 2016 and moved away but moved back), I have witnessed 6 different HIPPA violations. SIX. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but here no matter if you have to ride the bus to norristown for healthcare, trust me its worth it to have to drive far to see someone else because this office is a poor excuse for healthcare. They service the poor and think its okay to provide the poor with bad healthcare (while receiving federal grant money) and EVERYONE deserves good healthcare and to be treated like a decent human being. None of which this place is apparently capable of. I wish I could tell you exactly what this office did to me, but legally I can't as my attorney will not allow me to (yes I have a LARGE case against them according to my attorney). I have said all I can. But I highly encourage anyone who considers this place for healthcare, to find any other doctors practice to go to, trust me and all the others who have posted negative reviews across the internet against this practice. Yes they have some higher ratings on ZocDoc but that's because they can buy higher ratings there, trust those of us who have suffered at their hands and do not go here. read more

disagree with the intial review posted - we've had the opposite experience. The reception area can be quite "curt" and be warned, if you sit quietly, waiting your turn - you can certainly wait almost an hour for your scheduled appointment. If you ask if they are running on time, you are simply told "you will be called for your appointment" - generally with a tone. The treatment for children has been ok - at least for the last year and a half. We left the office with the same name (told no affiliation) in Collegeville because the child was taken back alone (age 6 +/-) we were "not permitted" to go back with him and about two hours after the appointment finished - the child had raised bumps ALL OVER THE BACK OF HIS BODY!!! Doc said it appeared to be bed bug or similar, but asked where he was and that was the only place out of "usual" areas and it was only places where his bare skin touched the chair. Not the first time we heard that - so we switched to the office in Pottstown. We insist on being present with the child (for obvious reasons given past experience). They have done X-rays on him - at age 7.5 (even gave us both printed copies when we asked for them); they always do a cleaning (every 6 months) since we switched. The dentist and hygenist (sp? sorry) are very gentle and work well with him. We only had one issue and we (both legal guardians) reacted and the issue was promptly corrected. Perhaps there is an issue with the insurance with the initial review author? We've never had a problem at the office (specifically, geographically "behind" WalMart in Pottstown). Scheduling is generally easy but like I said you have to be able to take the front end with a grain of salt or be willing to stand your ground - wait time for us has been inconsistant - one visit was five minutes and one exceeded 45 after our scheduled appointment - historically, we've never been taken right at our scheduled time... we'll see, the next visit is quickly approaching.
