Unprofessional and breached boundaries--avoid. Columbia SC area!! I specifically scheduled this company to take a tree down on Friday so I could be present for the job. Instead, they showed up two days early without notice when only my son was home. Without permission, they reached over my latched gate--which can only be opened from the inside--and forced it open to begin cutting down the tree anyway. I had to rush home from work just to force them to stop working immediately and demand they get off my property. They completely ignored our scheduling agreement and violated my privacy by trespassing into a secure gate unannounced. Luckily, I had not paid a deposit and I refused to pay them a single dime for their unauthorized work. Well today is Monday. I really met some hard-working people no one was standing around usually you have one guy standing around but not with these. I was so impressed that I made sure they I had plenty to drink. The way the team pulled together and these wasn't small trees that they took down. Friendly people. And the price was unbelievable. My wife said you know they have all that heavy equipment I don't see how they could be cheap. Well that big equipment made a job look amazing. Don't use them!!! We just used them today and they hung up on me when I called having an issue. They over charged and didn't do what they said they would. Tried to call to get info what went wrong and they hung up on me mid convo. They sent a 35% coupon in the mail and my husband didn't realize it so when I asked about it, he said it was the price with the coupon. They asked my husband what the other companies charges and he told them (he shouldn't have done that). This company reduced the price by $300 than other companies. When I called to say we had the coupon, they said they inclided the coupon. If thats truly the case, they are WAY OVERPRICED!!! We were going to have them cut down 3, 2 struck by lightning the insurance was going to pay for and one we were having done. They told my husband they'd come cut the one and wait for the other 2 for the insurance to give us the money. They got here this morning and cut ALL 3 DOWN, so we had to pay for all of them which we didn't have the insurance money yet. Do not recommend this service. They caused an extreme amount of damage to our driveway and they refuse to pay. You cant even locate and address or speak to the owner because a KEVIN ( a manager) said his attorney told him to not pay to fix the property damage they caused. I responded to an attractive flyer I received in the mail. I phoned at 9:20 a.m. and was told they would have someone out for a free quote within the next two hours. Salesman arrived an hour and 15 minutes later and I showed him the work to be done. His bid was CHEAP and then he gave me a veteran's discount AND a senior citizen discount. HE told me that they could get the work done within the next couple of days then things got better when a crew was dispatched and arrived at my house at about noon the same day. Crew arrived in very clean and attractive trucks including a trailered back loader and a GIANT limb 'eater'. They checked with me to verify what was to be done and got to work. Crew consists of about 8 VERY hard working guys in company uniforms. They were fast and efficient. Once the limbs, etc. were removed they left my yard MUCH cleaner than when they arrived including blowing all leaves, yard mess clear across the property where it was loaded on the truck. I was asked to inspect and told the supervisor that I was TOTALLY satisfied and handed him a check. They were gone by 1:30 and left me with a nice smile on my face. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

These people are misleading. Stated a deposit was mandatory to get on schedule, would not refund even though request to cancel was requested within hours of initial encounter. Would not return phone calls and sent crew to cut trees after cancellation was requested. Luckily, I was home to stop them. Nasty attitude once speaking with office person on this encounter. I am sure they have swindled many others, 14 unanswered complaints on Better Business Bureau. This is a company that ICE needs to look into. The good reviews paid their overpriced charges so of course there was no issues. They are horrible to anyone who refuses their services or has issues. Received call from company at 7:30p -no excuse given as why no show. Gave them 1 more chance & Another appt made for next day 3/3/26 with 3:00-5:00pm window. Promised they would be here! Again NO CALL AND NO SHOW! Received call at 7:30ish same night-trying again to make appt for next day. He wanted to give 25% discount or $150 off job estimate if we could set up an appt. I refused since they are unreliable for 2 days in a row just to come and give quote. He NEVER apologized for why they didn't show.Very poor business. Probably wouldn't even show to perform the work! Where do i start. They damaged my yard, their prices are too high (didn't have to use them but it was an emergency situation and everyone else i called was booked.) The communication between the office and the workers need major improvement. Showed up to our house days earlier than stated after we told them we had to communicate with the neighbor as they were out of town since part of the tree was on their property. we got a flyer in the mail 2 weeks ago so we called them the next day. we schedule for meeting at 5 pm and they showed up at 6:30. we liked their price so we paid them a $500 deposit and they said they would be back on Friday or Saturday. They never show up and I call them 5-6 times within the last two weeks and they had no idea about the job. They finally show up this morning at 7am and we had no idea they were coming. After they cut the tree down we got our phone blown up about paying but we still needed the stump grinding and the job wasn't done. she continued blowing up our phone about payment. A man showed in the dark with a flashlight to look at limbs that needed to be cut. Told me to sure to say I had to pay cash. The crew showed up before the sun came up and didn't have a copy of the order just instructions on how many limbs to cut. - they cut the wrong limbs. In addition they didn't even know they had to cut down a tree. I had to show them the order. I had requested a stump remove estimate when setting up appointment- I was told would get an estimate on site only to be told their stump machine was in the shop. One man to didn't speak English well and another who translated- I didn't know who was in charge. Not the most effective way to run a business. I had three trees removed by Cheap and GreatvTree Service and their work ethic was excellent. They were on time. They put down heavy duty pads to protect my yard from being destroyed by Bob Cat tracks, They were extremely careful not to let let the branches land on my roof or hitched house. Cleaned up as they went along. They did exactly what was asked of them. Will recommend them to my neighbors for sure. read more

As of Feb 12, 2025 I have waited a year on them to come back and do what they said. They showed up a day early, an hour before dark to cut 2 trees down. The first tree crashed into my bridge in my backyard....My only access to my backyard. They said we fix it ma;am dont worry we fix it. They proceeded to cut two pieces of trees and make me a new bridge. Using a tree, and old wood. As I was on the phone with the owner, I heard one of his working call me a curse word in Spanish....I have a 30second video of them destroying my bridge...They never made me whole. If it had been my house would they have repaired it with old trees, and wood. They left wood in our creek which my husband, and I had to fish out....Now after a year my bridge is still unsafe, they never came back to cut up down trees in 4ft sections so we could handle them...I am 60, and my husband is 65, we are in no shape to clean up someone else messes, or unprofessional work. I cannot get my mower safely to my backyard now. Horrible experience. Treated me horrible...Called me names in Spanish..Really brought my opinion of humanity down to a new level. All I wanted was for them to do the right thing, but i guess they don't have insurance. read more
