In May I received a letter stating that there were some branches touching my roof that needed to be cut and pictures sent to them by June 12th or my policy would cancel on June 16th. I took care of the problem and sent the pictures to my agent and Allstate on May 22nd. I then received a bill for my auto insurance which had increased. When I called to ask about this they said it was because the multiple policy discount wasn't in effect for June but that it would go back down in July because the homeowners was reinstated, but that I would have to pay the increased rate for June. It wasn't even due to cancel until June 16th and the problem was taken care of long before that. What a scam! I'd also like to say that I had Allstate several years ago and stopped using them then because of problems I was having with them. At that time I had been with Allstate for quite awhile. When I got married I added my husband to my policy so he could get a better rate. We divorced later and I called my agent to remove him from my policy and was told i could not do that; that I would have to start a whole new policy (at a higher rate than I had been paying) and he got to keep the reduced rate policy even though he had multiple violations and I had none. Also, it was my policy to begin with. I swore then I'd never use Allstate again and I should have stuck to that. I would not recommend Allstate to anyone!
