It operates from 3 classrooms which are part of a large house, and has a secure outdoor play area. I feel positive that my son will adapt well to school once he leaves here and cant recommend it enough, and feel happy leaving him there in their care.

They host an offstead registered before and after school club at very reasonable hourly or sessionly rates, with snacks available too. I am told this is an excellent service and is certainly very useful for working parents whos children attend nearby schools. They have a large hall which can be hired for childrens Birthday parties - you could easily fit a bouncy castle in there and still have loads of space for games and food etc. My children have attended a couple of parties here and had a great time so it is well worth considering it as an option when planning a party. If you live within the area then i recommend you popping in to see what they have to offer as you may be pleasantly surprised.

Raystede is an amazing place that is primarily a rehoming centre for stray pets. They rescue,…read morerehome and look after more than 2000 pets each year! As well as this, the centre is open to the public. It's free of charge, but they do ask for donations to help look after the animals. As well as visiting the cats and dogs, they have huge averies with many tropical birds, beautiful lakes with friendly ducks, geese, coots and moorhens. Stables with horses and donkeys. Rabbits, goats, turkeys, chickens, alpacas...and many more. There are some lovely walks around the lakes, a shop and a cafe to visit, as well as the visitor centre. Raystede is a great place to come with all the family. And if you are looking for a new pet, come and see if there is a fluffy friend here for you!

It's so exciting walking into a well-stocked charity shop...the things you might find! This BHF has just about every category of item that charity shops ever sell: an area for men/women/children's clothing, cds, dvds, several bookcases of books, a whole wall of shelves filled with homewares, even a shoe section. They have a particularly good bookcase with crime books.

Each time I enter I am a bit blown away by something in every one, sometimes I may be blown away by lots of things like I was in the St Vincents on Lewes Road, or just by a singly, hidden away little gem. This time though, what I really loved about this one, was that they had alphabeticalised (my own word) the books, so it was really easy to search for what you wanted. There was a really good selection of Dicken's classics; Bleak House, Pickwick Papers, as well as an eclectic mix of Dan Brown kinda stuff and Yoga books. Also, there was strangely a notably good selection of women's shoes and boots, so well worth a look, as I bet somewhere there is an absolute diamond.

This is the only charity shop that I have visited in the last year that had a waist coat. The British Red Cross shop is OK, it's not as big as some of the other charity shops in Lewes, which puts it at a bit of a disadvantage, because it means there is less choice. Likewise, however, unlike the St Peter and St James Hospice shop, which also has a small amount of floorspace and less stock, the British Red Cross doesn't put very much effort into presentation. The shop was quite busy, so it seems to be fairly popular, and the prices are reasonable (unlike others which I have mentioned in previous reviews), but I didn't see anything particularly exciting. Plus the shop is a bit dark because it has a strange shaped frontage with a sort of porch area, rather than a door that opens directly onto the pavement.

This large Cancer Research Shop, sits on the bottom corner of the High Street,and just over the…read moreroad from the Pedestrianised Friars Walk area, so it's in one of THE prime shopping locations in Lewes, which is good for a charity shop, as I bet McDonald's, Primark etc..are just waiting to snap it up. I wasn't too hopeful of seeing anything I liked in here as I walked past, as I thought the clothes would be less eclectic and fashionable than the ones in Brighton (due to the demographic). Yet I was delighted and surprised to see on their racks a really nice Parka Coat on sale for only £14.50, which was a total and utter bargain. On top of the Parka, there happened also to be a full bodied ski suit, which although I didn't need or want, would have saved some person perhaps hundreds of pounds on buying a new one. Other than the clothes, there are lots of little trinkets and odds and ends, that are nicely stacked and exhibited, to get your teeth into, as well as cards and books to browse.

Some charity shops are so overstocked that you just tend to scan things looking for anything promising. This one has plenty of floor space to manoeuvre so that you can get digging through the rails. There are some nice clothes picked out and displayed and many more high-street brand clothes on the rails. They have a lot of nice ceramics and kitchen china- often nice sets of plates, cups, saucers from very good names like Worcester. As the shop is large they can also accomodate some furniture so you can pick up a nice bedside stand, or bookcase.
