Last night I was inside of you…read moreLast night I made sweet love to you I saw the sun, the moon, the mountains and the rivers....whoa whoa let me stop with all the x-rated details, this is just my way of saying the bed was very comfortable!?! The ladies love being romanced in Venice, Italy and if you need a great place to stay then you need-ez to check out Hotel Mignon. About a 8 min walk from the water taxi stations and more importantly close to a good grocery store where I was making frequent trips for snacks and other essentials I forgot to pack. The staff here is really helpful, they have a great lobby area where you can buy drinks and you can even use their printer if needed. They offer a free breakfast buffet (nothing too high end) but the food was pretty decent. The rooms are clean but they are a bit outdated. Here are a few improvements I would make: - More power outlets in the room - A bigger TV (current size 15-17"), and one you can possibly move around on a wall mount. - Better blankets, they felt very old, and needed to be retired. If I come back to Venice I would love to stay here again, free WiFi and the 24 hour lobby are just some of the perks of this hotel. Also it is away from all the noise and if you are trying to get in a good 8 hours of sleep then Hotel Mignon can help you achieve your #SleepGoals. In Venice there are no cars/taxis/buses, so you have to walk everywhere and they're are tons of restaurants/shops within 5 mins of this hotel which is a major plus!!!

Rarely does Yelp let me down. Just happened…read more The Yelp map had the hotel located on the eastern end of Cannaregio. WRONG. The hotel is on the western end. From the airport, I ended up taking the bus into Venice and then walking 30 minutes with my luggage, thinking the hotel was nearby the bus terminal. I should have taken the water taxi instead, which would have dropped me off 5 minutes from the hotel. I tried to fix the map. Hopefully Yelp editors listened! As for the hotel itself, the name Mignon could not be more appropriate --- small and cute. Venice is an old, compact city, so the room was, not surprisingly, compact. My bedroom room was no bigger than 10 feet by 8 feet. The house staff is fantastic. Very nice folks. For less than €150 per night to stay in Venice, this hotel is a downright bargain even despite the room size. I give it four stars for the value, but this is definitely a three-star property in terms of room amenity.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. This was our first impression of Italy, and boy, did it…read moreimpress. I got a junior suite that overlooked the canal, so a great view. The room was spacious and sumptuous with the decor. The bed and the pillows were extremely comfortable. The view of the canal was so relaxing and you can even sit on the window ( though don't fall-- fair warning). We were on a sunlit part of the canal so there wasn't a strong smell, unlike other parts. The room was well-cleaned and the bathroom was well thought out with an extra shelf for toiletries. The bar was amazing (shoutout to the lovely bartender, Marco!). The room was also connected to a large rest area with other beautiful couches. As for the hotel itself, it was further away in the Cannaregio area. Most people prefer to stay in the San Marco area, but while Cannaregio was a 25 minute walk away, it was nice to do after a meal to digest. Also, there aren't a ton of streetlights in Venice, but I still felt much safer than being in the US. No one gave creepy vibes which was a shock, especially during Carnevale. Still be vigilant, but it was cool to be in a safe city (no cars, bikes, scooters allowed).

I was excited to stay here after reading so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience…read morewas extremely disappointing. The staff was kind and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. I had booked a double classic room without a view, and I was perfectly fine with that. What I wasn't okay with was the terrible smell in the room. I didn't notice it initially when I dropped off my bags in the front area of the room and went out to explore Venice. However, when I returned late that night and laid down, I realized the bed and sheets had a foul odor. I hoped it would be resolved after housekeeping came the next day, but unfortunately, the smell persisted. Room 611 should not be in use--it reeks of what can only be described as moldy dead rats, and the odor is particularly strong around the bed. I don't blame the cleaning staff; I believe this is an issue management is aware of. The condition of the room, especially the bed, is unacceptable, and it's troubling that guests continue to be placed there.
