Well-established, well-regarded chiropractic clinic in Cheltenham. Run by Rita Hemmings, with her associate Catherine Owers. Finding a chiropractor you're comfortable with is really important - you need to be happy with the person who's going to crunch your spine and neck bones into place. I've been getting a regular check-up here for years, after suffering back problems when I was young, and they've always been friendly and professional. read more

Specialties
We offer professional, effective care for all muscle and joints problems covering all age ranges from children to the elderly - our youngest patient so far was 3 days old and our eldest 101 years young! Some of the conditions we most commonly treat include: Low Back pain Neck pain Headaches Postural problems Sciatica, Sports injuries Hip, Knee and Shoulder pain Tendon problems Pelvic imbalance Arthritis Although we can't fix every joint and muscle problem, correcting the alignment of the body and balancing muscle tension often helps patients to move more easily and feel at their best. Catherine specialises in home rehabilitation plans to help prevent injuries recurring and we also have direct access to private state-of-the-art MRI, CT and X-ray scanning at the Cobalt Centre as well as the option to refer to specialist consultants at the Nuffield and Winfield Hospitals. Most of our patients hear about the clinic through personal recommendation (as we have had over 14,100 patients this is a big word-of-mouth network!) but we also receive referrals from local surgeons and GPs. Our treatments are also covered by most health insurance policies.
History
Established in 1978.
Cheltenham Chiropractic Clinic is the longest running Chiropractic centre in the area - opened by Rita Hemmings in 1978 the practice has offered expert spinal healthcare to the people of Gloucestershire for over 40 years! Originally on the corner of Gloucester Road and Granley road this was the only practice in Gloucestershire for many years; the closest being in Oxford, Bristol and Leamington Spa. On November 9th 2015 we moved to our lovely modern premises at PURE Offices and Catherine Owers (who had worked with Rita as an associate Chiropractor since 2002) became Clinic Director after Rita retired following 37 years in the profession!
Meet the Business Owner: Catherine O.
Catherine graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, in Glamorgan, in 2002 - achieving a first class honours degree - and undertook her pre-registration training year at Cheltenham Chiropractic Clinic; and has been here ever since! Catherine is fully registered with the GCC and is a member of the BCA. As well as working in Cheltenham, Catherine also ran her own part-time clinic in Malvern for 10 years but she has now merged this with the Cheltenham practice and works here full time. Correcting postural problems and improving ergonomics are very important to Catherine's success in treating patients and she also has a special interest in treating sports injuries and headaches, as well as using spinal rehabilitation to reduce the chances of mechanical dysfunctions recurring. She enjoys working with sports people and has treated high-level athletes from the fields of athletics, rugby, football, horse racing and weight lifting.

In short, they just fix it! With a dive trip planned to the Red Sea, my back seized up three weeks before departure. Doctor recommended physio. Only change was to my wallet! First visit to Rita, and boom - all fixed. Rita has retired but my first visit to Catherine was equally rewarding. Three areas of pain, all fixed first time round. The difference from other "fixers" was that she went to great lengths to explain what the problems were with skeleton sections. As an engineer, I found this enormously useful. read more
