In mean while some customers came while I had completed half of bhajiya ( significant time had passed)they ordered samosa and tea. I asked to check my order of coffee again after sometime, while next order was served with both samosa and tea even though they had visited after us. I called again "Anna" , to my surprise instead of apologizing for delay, he argued though you had ordered coffee n bhajiya together it's your mistake to tell us you want it together .I said if that was case I should have been asked how would u like your order. Forget that audacity to argue instead of apologizing still our order was significantly delayed as people who came after us got served before us. There is clearly carefree attitude of "Anna" and no customer is treated here with respect. For a successful restaurant, along with maintaining the food quality , there has to be attentive attitude of serving customers to get pleasing experience so to get repeat customers In conclusion I could say my Experience was Bad Customer Service to extent that even they did not accept their mistake in treating and dealing with customers RUDELY.

But the Gate is close to Eventim Apollo, where I was seeing a show later, so the convenience couldn't be beat. Service was about what I expected for this caliber of restaurant. My partner and I are low fuss but the servers were prepared to offer suggestions and wine pairings for those interested. As for the food, we enjoyed what we had--her main was a curry dish and mine a sort of deconstructed dragon roll. But our favorite part was the matcha cake cup we shared at the end. Perfectly decadent. I don't think I'd say the Gate is a must visit for London as a whole but it's a great option if you're in or planning to visit Hammersmith.

Once seated, you will enjoy the immense window that allows The Gate to be lit without the need for artificial light. The decor is simple, a mixture between minimal, arte povera and industrial; a style that seems to be a must, if you want your bar to be instagramable and hipster at the same time. Everything is completed with green leafy plants and industrial style nude bulbs hanging from the ceiling. The jazz music in the background makes the atmosphere enveloping and sophisticated, making you feel like a freelancer drinking black americano in Brooklyn. The artichoke terrine with a dried tomato paste and grilled bread left me confused, it was too salty for my taste, not too bad if eaten with bread and its paste. The presentation of the dish was pretty and the bread was freshly baked. As per the main dish I had a beetroot burger with "fries" and a little salad with vinaigrette. The salad was fresh and tasty with Dijon mustard vinaigrette. The burger instead was rubbery, pink very processed patty that can easily be found at the supermarket. The matchstick chips were too thin, on the plate more as a decoration in my opinion. The service is really slow, even when the restaurant isn't crowded. They actually completely forgot that after the starters we were still waiting for the main course. we had to remind them after waiting more than one hour. Luckily, we got a fresh baked baguette and some olive on the house for the inconvenience.

Today we took my lil god-daughter (new generation!) and we had a lovely lunch here after visiting the temple with her for the first time. The lunch buffet, with samosas and paneer dishes and interesting salads is extremely good value at £7.99, though the a la carte is also great. Special props for the pea kachori, the paneer chilli sizzler - and surprisingly, the veggie burger was particularly tasty. Staff were attentive esp considering our little one was on her first ever restaurant visit!

All of them enjoyed the food dishes I ordered, only things I would improve are the prices have increased significantly and especially adding on the 10% eat-in charge, so for four of us the bill was just under 70 pounds. The crispy bhajia portion was a lot smaller than I had expected it to be. Next time I visit the mandir will try the cafe next to it and see how the snacks are.

Saravanaa Bhavan is a chain restaurant - but one that will make you forget all of your prejudices…read moreagainst chain restaurants. It is a Gujarti Vegetarian Indian restaurant but with other Indian vegetarian cuisines represented as well including Sri Lankan and Indian-Chinese. (If you have never had it - Indian Chinese totally rocks. It is not Indian, It is not Chinese, It is a bunch of fiercely original fusion dishes that put traditional Indian vegetarian ingredients into Szechuan or Cantonese style sauces.) The place is crowded - often with a line waiting out the door. The menu is huge. Everything our party had was outstanding. (Special thumbs up for the Paneer -Indian Cheese- with Chilis in the Indo-Chinese menu - and their Chapatis and Pooris (breads) which show up accompanying many dishes. In fact breads are generally a strong point here and they make many kinds.) The place is unbelievably cheap - which is good to know in London - where cheap and food too often means poisonous. One note for non-Londoners. This particular Saravanaa Bhavan is on Ealing Road near the tube station Wembley Central. That neighborhood is one of three neighborhoods - all on Ealing Road - that have vast numbers of excellent cheap Indian and Pakistani restaurants (including many many subtypes of both). The cluster at the North near the Wembley Central station is the largest with at least a dozen fine vegetarian restaurants to pick from. This part of town is not on the standard "visitor's" trip to London - but it ought to be.
