Today I visited the place and ordered Maru Bhajiya and Coffee. As I entered place there were some left over stuff on table and had requested "Anna" (who was so called running the place)to clean and he casually asked to check for another table.First impression I understood there is no attitude to serve customer respectfully Anyhow while I was waiting for my order there were customers complaining on wait time.Second impression I understood service is slow Still I maintained positive attitude to check for myself.My order for bhajiya came, it was ok can't say reasonable as per price. In mean while some customers came while I had completed half of bhajiya ( significant time had passed)they ordered samosa and tea. I asked to check my order of coffee again after sometime, while next order was served with both samosa and tea even though they had visited after us. I called again "Anna" , to my surprise instead of apologizing for delay, he argued though you had ordered coffee n bhajiya together it's your mistake to tell us you want it together .I said if that was case I should have been asked how would u like your order. Forget that audacity to argue instead of apologizing still our order was significantly delayed as people who came after us got served before us. There is clearly carefree attitude of "Anna" and no customer is treated here with respect. For a successful restaurant, along with maintaining the food quality , there has to be attentive attitude of serving customers to get pleasing experience so to get repeat customers In conclusion I could say my Experience was Bad Customer Service to extent that even they did not accept their mistake in treating and dealing with customers RUDELY. read more

One of the worst places I've ever eaten both in terms of food and service. Had heard great things and really wanted to try it, I ordered a take away portion of Bhajias and the guy just handed me over a portion in a bag that was somebody's take away order they hadn't collected for ages. I asked him if they were fresh and even said I'd heard great things about the place and he very curtly insisted they were fresh. Brought them back to the car and the other three people with me all commented on how cold and awful they were. Even to get a chutney I had to ask and the guys attitude behind the counter was as though he was giving a gold nugget away. We were on Ealing road to get hold of some traditional Indian Jewellery for my daughters dance production. Saw Maru's and remembered that it was highly recommended by a friend of mine so decided to try them out. Maru's are an Indian Vegetarian Snack house, they do street food and other Kenyan Indian specialities. The most famous item in the menu is in the Maru Potato Bhajya (or Pakoda/Pakora). These are served with a freshly made tomato chilli chutney. We ordered the Maru Bhajia and few other stuff. The place is very popular and gets very crowded. There was a wait for the food to arrive but not a very long wait. Maru Bhajia and the Chutney was unique, not very different from a traditional Indian Bhajiya but I guess it had the Kenyan influence. The food over all was OK but not extraordinary. May be I entered the place with a huge expectation hence I felt it I didn't do it for me. The thing I missed most was the Heat Factor. Probably I was expecting the classic Indian taste which was missing in most of the dishes. Reasonably priced and freshly made, the food is worth a try. Recommended. read more

We went to Wembley just to check out the infamous Maru Maru bhajiya. It was really good and the chutney it came with was very spicy which I like. The Kenyan bhel was not that good and bland. read more

Yes, it hit the spot but I am just not sure what all the fuss is about. Highlights: They have decent potato bhajiyas for a reasonable price. Can improve: Everything else on the menu besides their potato bhajiyas is below average in my view. There dining area is crammed and they don't manage the customer flow. It doesn't feel very clean either, and I have been in hole in the wall locations around the world. Plus, parking is such a hassle. Benchmark: You can find same or better quality bhajiyas and food at several other Indian restaurants around the city. Dined in March 2016 and will not return. read more

The only place to stop for a feed whilst shopping on Ealing Rd! It's not healthy, it's not flashy, but it's yum. I've eaten a lot of bhajia in my time (mostly courtesy of my gran) but these were something special - more potato based than the ones I'm used to eating at home. Make sure you have it with the red chutney it's served with, and don't bother with the watery brown chutney in the bottle. I also love mine with a good squirt of ketchup which they thoughtfully provided too! The 'double portion' feeds more like 4 people so don't go overboard with other dishes like we did... My whole fam enjoyed, especially Daddy M who had a good nostalgia hit after remembering eating maru's bhajia in East Africa as a schoolboy, and we think it's the same family aww :) read more

My parents were in Kenya for a while and I used to visit them on holidays. A staple must-have during those holidays used to be Maru Bhajiyas - potato fritters dipped in a thin batter of gram flour. You get regular Bhajiyas (fritters) in India, but this is something else - something yummier, crisper and served with a tangy tomato dip. When I saw this place when we went Indian grocery shopping in this area, I was thrilled beyond belief at the nostalgic plus yummness factor! Maru's Bhajia House serves huge portions of the fritters. They have two portion sizes and even the smaller one is quite a task for two people to handle. The coffee is nice and strong - something many places can't get right. As you enter the aroma is intoxicating and your appetite suddenly awakens. The wait seems long, but once the order arrives it's well worth it. The bhajia's are obviously the stars of the restaurant, but the mogo it pretty good too and I recommend a glass of passion fruit juice to wash it down with. read more

We have tries bhajias in other restaurant but I have to say nothing compares to Maru's Bhajias. Fresh, thin and crispy with amazing sauce! Try there green chilli sauce as well. read more

They certainly make good bhajiyas but I find them slightly overcharged, maybe it's because of their speciality.
