While their dishes are pretty good and authentic, they have some weird rules about taking out what is left over from your meal. In addition, the amount charged as far as for water and liquids, it's a bit crazy but I guess that's Europe for you.
Now, what did we order? We ordered the Spinach Soup with Thousand Year Egg, Roasted Duck (which is sort of false advertisement with the picture on the menu), Stew beef, and a stir fried rice noodles with beef. The positives: I think that the dishes are pretty authentic along with the flavors. The people who served us seem to understand everything we asked. The stir fried rice noodles were pretty good as far as the flavor.
The negatives: You can't take the rice that was served with the dish home... Apparently the waitress said that it was the law or that people ordered extra rice and then took it so it's now store policy to take the rice? My thought is, well then do they throw away the rice? Surely, they don't take it and then make another dish like a fried rice dish do they? If that's true, then that's crazy. Another thought was, well, we never ordered extra rice. If rice comes with the dish, and we didn't finish the dish, why can't we take the rice back? I just thought it was so odd and weird. Lastly, the roast duck picture on the menu is definitely not what you get. First, you would think you would get roasted duck. Instead, you get fried duck. Usually roasted duck that's served in the wafer like dough should also come with cucumbers, which this didn't. Anyways, I think that dish was a let down.
Stick to the rice noodle stir fry, the stew beef and you'll come out on top. If you're into the spinach soup, that's not bad but I felt that it had no flavor. Just really weird rules on rice about this place. read more
