The strangest part were the comlimentary olives brought out before the meal. I think they must use the same super-sweet tomato sauce on the olives, but unfortunately, for me, it just made them taste like baked beans. That's not to say you shouldn't try it yourself. You just can't sum up an Italian restaurant from one serving of gnocchi and a bad bowl of olives-a-la-baked-beans, can you? As for charm, this place oozes charm like the Gulf of Mexico oozes oil these days...only in a good way. The staff were universally, pleasant and helpful. I have used this place regularly as a takeaway after first using it purely because they do a home delivery service, which is free for orders over £12.00 and within a 2 mile radius. They charge an extra £1 for orders under £12 and over a 2 mile radius. The delivery service is second to none,no sooner have you phoned the order through, it's there at your door and is piping hot. Having used its delivery service, I have continued to use them as their food is by far the best in the Fareham area and the family who own the premises are extremely friendly and will cook anything you would like them to. As the mother said 'We will cook anything you want to order, it is impossible to list everything we can or will do on a menu, you only have to ask' The restaurant is small but is ideal for those cosy intimate nights when you don't want the noise from a larger premises. One of the tables is imported from China and is a huge black circular highly polished table with a massive lazy susan built into it and is gorgeous in itself. I have not been here for a while…read more But I used to go quite regularly. What I liked about the menu was that it was different, from all other town based oriental restaurants. The ingredients were a little more exotic, yet the price was not overly too expensive. Stuff like Lobster, crab and scallops would not be uncommon, and would taste fantastic oriental style. I had times where we could talk to the waiter and suggest the type of food likes and he would get chef to create some dishes based on that. In which case you could rate the staff as going that extra mile for customer service. This is one of 2 restaurants I would go to on West Street without hesitation.
