However, I got a deal on a nice office chair and a brand new pot! The offerings are quite good - and the staff is helpful, answering questions as it was the first time I had been there. With regard to the reviewer who mentioned price: everyone's going up! I want to blame the resellers, but I think it's just everything going up. Compared to other places, the prices seem to be about the same. So everything's going up - and the number of people this store serves (helps the homeless) are growing, so the need is growing.

Even if that's not the same title given to the firm- they come in convince management they can "save" them and earn them so much more money, charge huge fees and don't give a damn about bankrupting them. They are in their to steal the capital. They don't care about the community and all the multitude of reasons this establishment was in existence. And especially a firm from Tennessee in PA. I know that from living there 25 years now as a "Northerner." When I heard why stores were shutting down and saw how they were running them, It was sickening. So sad that so many are so unaware of the corruption out there. And it is probably all perfectly legal according to laws of by and for the wealthy. I'm so sorry management fell for this. In past few years I was able to purchase some really great items for my home when I finally get moved back to PA. When clients get so disappointed and disgusted, I doubt they'll be pulling in great donations. So sad. Maybe they can find a way out of this to recover for the community. True Goodwills prices have gone up too much. But you can still get multiple discounts for different people on different days. And at least they're still stocked. I wish the best for City Missions recovery. I also wanted to mention the thrift store in Uniontown is so poorly stocked. And the layout of what is there is a mess and the clothes (which is a far less amount) are jammed so tightly together on less racks you can't even go through them. I just walked out. Sorry but it's true.

It used to be you could take $10 into any Goodwill and come out with a complete outfit. A top, pair of pants, maybe a pair of shoes or a purse not both but one or the other. Now $10 will get you one thing (if you're lucky). This Goodwill is asking $5.79 plus more if name brand for just the top plus taxes. Shopping at Goodwill used to come with the old standard "she shops at Gooooodwilllll! She's poor!" Well Heck not anymore, it's"She shopped at Gooooodwilllll is she crazy??? She can get that cheaper somewhere else!!!!!" Today I was there and I waited in line for 10 minutes while the guy cashier slam banged around the person in front of me selected items until he actually broke one of them. If you don't want to work buddy, join your friends unemployed....the lady was so upset because she really wanted that glass dish. The other cashier (girl we will call her since no name tag) just stood there repeatedly counting her drawer. She kept making eye count with me knowing I was waiting. I had 10 expensive tops in my arms. This went on with upset customer complaining about him breaking the glass and he just slammed it into the trash...you could have heard a pin drop it became silent. I told my daughter if that girl doesn't hurry up I'm going to scream. My nerves were shot from the commotion. I counted out loud to ten and then put my items back on the rack. As I was leaving the store the girl looked at me and smirked....I thought yeah Girl you're right. I didn't need to spend my hard earned money in your store. This was One O'clock on Thursday July 28th if you want to see what lovely employees you had at the register representing your over priced company!!! I won't be back!! But I realize that I don't matter to you, your employees or your company...but I did want to share my experience!!!!

The community really leans into myths and spooky legends, and you'll find restaurants, shops, food and drinks named after these cultural conspiracy theory characters all over the place. The Thrifty Mountaineer is the place to visit in Morgantown if you're into cryptids, because there are so many cryptid items for sale! Plushies, t-shirts, books, keychains, patches and so much more available. Mothman is THE cryptid of the state, and there are lots of Mothman things here. We picked up some Mothman potato chips, because we were curious what Mothman chips would taste like. (Turns out, Mothman tastes a lot like barbecue Lay's.) The store is also an overstock and liquidation store, a notary public and a place to get financial coaching. I can't even make this up. This store is so cool and random, and there are surprises around every corner. The people who work here are hella chill. But you'd have to be if you own and operate a friggin' store dedicated to cryptids, right? If you sell soap that smells like the Flatwoods Monster, you can't take yourself too seriously. These guys like to have fun.

The inside consists of two rooms full of cryptid merchandise, general thrifty items, clothing, and your typical touristy gifts. They have a thrift "bin" which is essentially a table full of random stuff for $2. We found an unopened 6-pack of Hanes boxers and some replacement inner tubes that would fit a dirt bike. They have very fairly priced shirts for men, women, and children. I left with a $3 Bacardi tshirt and a $.50 corkscrew in a velvet drawstring bag. The staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. They were so pleasant. There are two comfy chairs in the middle of the main room where you can relax while the rest of your party shops around. I'll definitely be back to share this experience with others.
