This is such a beautiful, quaint, historic stone town, everything within it is just a faction of what small towns elude, and this Towne & Country Cheese Shoppe is just that. I was visiting a friend who lived outside the small town, on a country road in a farm house, the perfect mold that fits this synopsis. We walked around town, on the trail a bit, and we wanted to bring some sandwiches to her parents who were camping at the Wildwood Conservation Area. My friend recommended this place, and said they had amazing sandwiches, wraps, salads, meats and cheeses. We walked in and had an immediate feeling of friendliness, and just walked around to the counter and read the menu. They had a good selection of wraps and sandwiches. I chose the Chicken Club Wrap, and it came with either a side of pickles, which I believe is made in house, or veggies. I chose the pickles, as did my friend and we picked up lunch for her mother as well. We had to wait as they made our wraps fresh on the spot, which was fine. Made conversations with some of the locals inside and just browsed the selection of speciality items they had. The wrap was absolutely delicious, fresh, the chicken wasn't dry and the bacon was flavourful, and the side of pickles came in a cute bag, cut into easy to eat chunks. They tasted homemade and fresh, and not processed at all. I browsed their selection of meats and cheeses and next time I'm in town, I'll stop by to pick some up, we were on a schedule.

We visited another cheese factory earlier this year, and this is by far a better experience!…read more First off Stone Town Cheese is a bit out of the way, about 12 minutes from St. Marys. But it is definitely worth it and fairly popular. We went on Saturday and there was a group before us and by the time we left, another two couples waiting outside behind us. You can see the cows and plant on the property. They provided unlimited sampling, they have other food products for sales (local honey, meats, ice cream and flour...), but the focus is still the amazing cheese. We tried about 5 types and they were all delicious. Pricing is also quite reasonable for the quality. My only minor disappointment was we weren't given more background information on their cheeses and the company. But I suppose if we had a tour that might be offered. Overall, it was a nice visit on a beautiful day.
