My mum is also allergic to crustaceans but there were other options for her to eat, such as chicken breasts, steak and cod. The service was prompt but it didn't feel rushed and the waitresses were all lovely and knew the food well. The food was absolutely fantastic! I had the mussels to start (photo attached) and the half split lobster as my main. Both were fresh and the sauce was delicious. My experience was fabulous and I will 100% return the next time we are in Polzeath.

Cornwall-made with Jersey-sourced cream. If such details change anything, I don't know, all I know is this stuff is chilled excellence! The mint chocolate chip ice cream tasted like fresh mint -- I've never tasted such authentic mint flavor in an ice cream before, so they must use the real thing instead of, or in addition to, peppermint oil. I can't help but insist this is a must-visit in Padstow!

Upon entering there is always a warm and friendly greeting from staff who obviously appreciate you being there. The menu boasts so many options to suit absolutely every person regardless of dietary preference. During our first visit we ordered a lovely latte and milkshake, which was undoubtedly the best we had ever tasted! From a coffee lovers point of view, it outweighed all competition tasting so fresh you'd think they grew the beans in the back garden! The milkshakes are equally as awesome and straight away you can tell its made from only the freshest of ingredients while you wait. I pretty much lived on the strawberry and mango milkshake for my weeks holiday and im definitely feeling withdrawal symptoms now im back home! We also tried several of the food options during our stay, which included some amazing bacon sarnies and what had to be the best plate of nachos we could ever dream of! Unlike many of the other cafe's and restaurants the prices are also extremely modest for what you get. This cafe's absolutely faultless, and I promise anyone visiting it will love bopping to Bob Marley while consuming some of the finest food and drink in the country! The smoked bbq food had a good smoke but the ribs were cooked too quickly so they were not tender and did not come off the bone cleanly. Also had a t bone which also was not tender. I would go as far as saying that too cut it had too apply so much pressure too cut through, I now have a blister on my finger. Again another piece of meet that did not come off the bone clean at any point. To finish the meal we had the milkshakes that were huge and looked good. Taste was good but prefer them to be a thick shake. As an attempt at being a bbq and grill they are ok, just need to cook the meat so it is tender.

The reason, I suspect, is that the café is part of a local Christian centre and that all people working there are volunteers, so probably customer service is of secondary importance. Nevertheless, they serve decent, inexpensive food (pancakes, paninis, burgers, jacket potatoes, salads gluten free options available) along with smoothies, shakes, and flavoured coffees each served with gingerbread cookie. With only one ripping-off internet café in town it's good to know that with every meal over £2,75 you can surt internet for free here (otherwise 5p per minute).
