I recently had my hair highlighted with Brianna C. Before getting my hair done by her, I had talked to her about what I was trying to achieve with my hair. She said that she could get my hair close to the photo. I told her over and over that I didn't want my hair to be toned dark because she had toned it dark in the past. I told her before the appointment and during the appointment. She ended up toning my hair dark, and left me with darker ends in comparison to the rest of the hair. After talking to her about how dissatisfied I was with my hair. She told me to come back and suggested a clarifying shampoo treatment to remove some of the toner. I ended up going back for the clarifying treatment and the toner did not lift the ends. That day she told me she didn't have time to re-highlight the ends so that I would need to come back again and make another appointment. I then contacted her to make the appointment and she told me that I would have to pay to get my hair highlighted again. I explained to her that I did not feel comfortable paying for the same service twice, since it was her error. I didn't hear back from her. Days later, she texted that she spoke to her "boss", I am assuming the salon owner and that she said it would not be complementary only toner. Moral of the story, don't go to this salon and expect to get what you want because they will not stand behind their work if they make a mistake. They will expect you to pay again for them to "hopefully" fix it. And don't be like me and pay them if you are unsatisfied before leaving the salon. People like this will do what's in their best interest, so learn to say no I am not paying you as I am not satisfied with your service. You shouldn't have to pay someone twice if they made a mistake, the right thing for them to do is to fix it or refund you!

The salon is always clean, decorated for the appropriate time of year and stocked with the latest products. Your always pleasantly greeted when you walk in the door. They have an area in the salon with unique products that are for sale so when you are waiting for your color to process you can browse. Mary Jane and her staff, are very pleasant, professional and caring people. My husband has very fine hair and Mary Jane knows just how to cut it to give it fullness. Whenever I go there, I am taken promptly. The stylist I see, Lily, listens to my requests, and makes some very good suggestions of her own. She put beautiful highlights in my hair, gave it a good conditioning and I have been very happy with the results. She gives me an excellent cut, better than I have had in many years! At MJD it only costs me like $25. I guess people around here are used to doing to the strip mall haircutting places that charge $10! Anyways, MJD is a cut (hehe, get it?!) above the rest of the salons around Keene. In fact, I'll go as far to say that it's my favorite salon that I've ever been to! I don't know what it is, but the girls there have never given me a bad haircut. I'm the type of girl who goes for style changes from one haircut to the next, and each time I get my haircut I always get it a little different. For the past 3 times I've gone to MJD I had Jess as my haircut artist and she's just fantastic! She's only like 21 or 22 but she's really good. In the past I've had other girls (forget their names now) and they were great too. This place is my favorite because the people there are so nice, they are talented at what they do, and the prices are great (for me at least). I have never stopped since. Kara does a fabulous job EVERY TIME!! About a year ago I decided to stop coloring my hair and she has made this so easy and I never had crazy color lines she has always blended it so wonderfully. My granddaughter just had her first visit and got rainbow highlights. I highly recommend this salon. They are all great here.

I wanted my hair and makeup to look special, but still natural and "myself". She absolutely mastered that look (with no trial ahead of time might I add)! My makeup was a beautiful subtle smokey eye just like I wanted but horribly attempted to communicate with about 5 "something like this, but not this" pictures. The makeup she used was of the highest quality- brands I could never justify buying for myself- and yet the prices were beyond reasonable. She curled my hair and left it down just like I asked for, but I was convinced it wouldn't last past the ceremony. Somehow my stick straight hair maintained the most gorgeous, flowing curls all night despite being out in the snowstorm for over an hour. My husband, who swore he hates liquid foundation and curls on me because they always "look fake", couldn't shut up about how beautiful I was. I know it was our wedding day but my mom, who hates makeup, also agreed. What more can a girl ask for? Oh, that's right, a calm, quiet, gorgeous studio overlooking downtown Keene to provide some much needed respite on an otherwise overwhelmingly hectic morning.

I am also not seasoned in makeup, so she took my terrible description of what I thought I wanted and turned it into a masterpiece! On the day of my wedding, she made the bridal suite so fun! It was like having another bridesmaid in the room. We all had so much fun jamming out to 90s tunes.
