The service is what some people refer to as "high" but actually all the beauty seems to make it all the more personal in this space. The congregation is usually about 20 - 30 people, but sometimes gets to double those numbers. It's very peaceful, and solemn with shafts of sunglight beaming onto the altar space. St. Johns worships in a true Anglican style, and so much feels like of another time - until the Rector, Father Parker shares the sermon just standing in the aisle and just talks to the people, quite friendly and sort of personally connected. Some of us talked about being very moved by the sermon, and then with all the beautiful vestments and music it's quite compelling. Dont be fooled by the luxury of it all, it's quite intimate. I would say the service is focused, but not so serious that one leaves without a great feeling and a good message. The people there are very nice, and friendly. It has become my church, so perhaps I'm more biased now, but these were my impressions about 15 minutes after my first time at St. Johns.

I am so fortunate to have found St. Joseph's in Odenton. Of all my church homes across the country, St. Joseph's is at the top of my list. Prior to attending my first mass there, I joined the facebook group and had some questions, which were quickly and warmly answered. When I attended the first time, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I've been a regular parishioner now for almost a year, and I can truly say that I look forward to mass every Sunday. I've made many new friends in the parish, and it's so nice to not feel like an outsider like I have felt in a few other parishes. Father Jim is a really nice, down-to-earth priest, and he seems to take an interest in all the parishioners. If you are looking for a church home in the area, I would definitely recommend St. Joseph Catholic Church.

I love this church - the pastor, staff and people. It's warm and welcoming, with lots of activities…read morefor all ages. There's an active and energized kids department, with proactive leaders, teaching the love and principles of Jesus. The 50+ group has fantastic leaders that keep the group extremely active throughout the entire year. Plus there's numerous ministries in between the kids and seniors. If you want to get involved, there's plenty of opportunities to serve and support. But if you need a place heal and rest, just to soak in the presence of God and hear about His love and the gift of salvation through Jesus, you can do that too. I found HCC to be a welcoming, Bible based, church that teaches and stands on the word of God. I'm so glad God brought me back to HCC.

I reached out to the church took them 3 days to get back with me. The preacher said one little prayer on the phone. No one offered to come and see him at the hospital. After I thought I had found a home church. I even told them he was in intensive care and serious condition. And no one cared.. My husband passed away. And I did not feel comfortable with getting this Pastor to do his services. After no one reached out to even check on us to see how things were going. I had to go to a different church and get a different Pastor to do my husband's funeral services. I was so lucky to have found a pastor that really cared. He didn't even know me. But he was more caring and considerate than this Pastor of Heritage community church. It's so sad after being there for 2 1/2 to 3 years. My heart is broken. It's so sad that no one has even reached out to me from my first talk with the pastor. He never reached back out to see how my husband was doing. Even though they knew he was in intensive care and getting worse. No one called to ask how I was either. Very inconsiderate and selfish people. I would give them no stars if I could. Oh, when you go there, they act all nice and wonderful and like they're a loving church. But when you need them and you're suffering and you're in pain. No one shows up. If I hadn't been a Christian for a long time. This would be the kind of thing that would make someone turn against the church forever and against God. But I know better because I know there's other pastors out there and other churches that are out there that really do care. But this one is about the Almighty buck I think. Talking directly to the little people? Kind of like his Limp. And I think he would own that. Most people, just call him Dan. Distant Dan. I abhor the term but this surprisingly, un credentialed Rabbi, is "anointed". Like only a very, few teaching pastors of today. He preached this himself; not about himself. His list of remaining heavies, is not long. And they are all Old as dirt. So, the church, sorely needs communicators like Dan Sexton. And of course, he is on the Radio. I helped pay for that. No Complaints. They should pay Him! LD, I struggled in school my entire life. But Dan Sexton, was by far, the best teacher I ever had. Intoxicating at times. It is an absolute joy to follow his lectures and never, really fall behind. But! Pin your ears back and bring a good reference bible. Shhhh!! However, I would contend, one of the great teaching Bible Colleges of America could use his services; way more than Eight hundred, privileged, highly attractive Colombians need him. Add in the hundreds of Radio Psincophants, who travel long distances to experience his teaching; but never grovel at his feet. He would not stand for it. And I was one of those super handsome, devoted students who made the journey, twice a week; before quietly departing- Mostly out of utter disillusionment; in said, Community. One person I really liked, and thought I connected well with; texts me a year later. "Hey, Brother; haven't seen you in church, lately." LOL! But seriously; if you have a Family or just want to hear about the Bible, in a one of a kind way; by all means, go! They have a school, now, too. The whole place is a Solid! And mid week service? They feed you! The music is as inspired and excellent as any other place, that large. Thank God! No, worship leaders, in skinny Jeans. And a great space to worship, in comfort. Though, even that seems to become mildly awkward and political, sometimes. Like Disco for Born Again, Christians. Love the Lord out Loud! Yeah, we do that. Oh yeah! Very little inside or outside Politics. Moderately Conservative, well above average, educated professionals. The kind of place, where the fancy 4 Star, guided trips to Israel, fill up within hours.
