Ever since the B&W closed, there has been no competition and the groceries have gotten very expensive. The prices are pretty shocking. Items that are $3.99 at my local grocery store are over $9 here. They carry Western Family brands and seem to participate in the same sales as other chains because amidst all the $4 frozen veggies were bags on sale for 88 cents. The produce section is small but included mangos and avocados. The portobello mushroom caps were a little juicy and had a bit of mold on top, only visible if you look closely. They also sold expired bags of Garden of Eatin' chips...about 3 months past their date. The store carries Earth Balance sticks for over $5 per pound, several types of plant milk (almond, soy, almond coconut blend) but doesn't seem to replenish often. I bought the almond milk, leaving one, and there was none five days later. There are no veggie burgers or fake meats of any kind. The donut selection was sad and two cooked pizzas are $25. The gas station costs more than the one down the road in town. Also, no Huckleberry anything.

Prices are out of control while selection rivals that of most communist countries. Not a big deal with sparkling water, but shows why we've gotten at least 4-5 things there that have been rotten (and when you bring it back, they don't really seem to care). Most things you can check the manufacturers date, but I would never buy a pre-made sandwhich from there again- MOLDY! Also, when I first moved here, saw an employee go straight from the urinal back to work without washing his hands. Let a manager know, but there's still no sign in their (filthy) bathroom saying employees must wash... Produce is better at Walmart. I brought my nephew with me one time and I had some change in the car so I grabbed it and asked the worker if I could exchange it for some quarters for the quarter candy and toy machines they have, he said to keep the change and gave my nephew a couple quarters to put in the machine. He told me he collects change and whenever a little kid comes in and wants a little candy or toy, he'll toss them a coupe quarters, I thought this was really nice, there's not too many people/stores that really care enough to do things like that.
