When I got the invoice, they charged me three to five times more for the parts than I could get them for on Amazon ($105 for a rubber kit?!!). I guess that's on me for not clarifying everything up front. I think I'll be looking for another company, next spring.

I want to say we've been using them for about five years. We have had better service from them than the two companies we had used previously (one went out of business). We feel like the price is reasonable for the work we have done. They start up our system in April, do a mid season check up on the summer and shut it down in October. We're given a four hour window for our appointments. They call when they're about 10-15 minutes away. The guys have all been pleasant. If anything needs replacing (it's rare, but it happens), they explain what needs to be done and why. The person I speak to in the office is great! I literally have no complaints about, or issues with, this company. I have not used them for anything other than our irrigation system.

So they said they had to charge me more due to a tree stump and extra man hours and I said Ok, which I thought was not right because we had already agreed to all of this up front when I paid but I said ok and the Swale looks terrible. The curb appeal is downright awful and the Swale has washed out places to the side, some places are higher, down hill than up hill and I think anyone would say it is just terrible looking. When the guys dug the Swale, they just quickly drug up some dirt and left. And the back yard was not done fully. I thought at first it was all done right because I know nothing about drainage and swales but after a few weeks and talking to people and seeing it, I realized it was all done wrong and it looks terrible. In addition, when they dug up the window wells and put in the drainage pipe they asked me if I had any rock, which I did, have, and I was surprised they did not bring any rock for that if they were asking for it. I am paying them for this work and I am providing the rock free while being charged for it. When I went on YouTube and saw hundreds of Swales done, they all looked great, so I know this one is just terrible. No doubt and anyone can come and see it for themselves. I am totally certain when you compare and contrast their swale to thousands of others found online everyone will say theirs looks awful. And so I have contacted other companies to come and do it right and make it look good and they asked about the French drain and they all asked if there was rock under and above it and I said no. And come to find out, across the board, rock has to be put in with the French drain otherwise it will clog up. So now I have to have it dug up and rock put in. I am simply not going to use them again and not recommend them to anyone. And if no one believes me I am from the show me state and will show you that this is all true. I have tried to add photos but could not so like I said, I am willing to show anyone who like what I am talking about.

For the most part the owner Terry was pretty reliable and easy to work with so we continued to use his services. Over the years there have been some minor delays and problems with scheduling. I would call and set up my annual apt. w/ Terry and there were multiple occasions where there was a no call, no show or I had to call him to see if he was still planning on coming out on a date where an apt. had been scheduled. He would make an effort of trying to get there that same day we had the apt. or he would typically come out the following day. Despite these minor issues with scheduling we decided to keep using Terry. However, this last year was something that could not be overlooked and anyone who is considering using Terry, I would strongly urge you not to. If you look through the reviews, I am not the only one that this has happened to. So, last April I called Terry as I typically do to have our irrigation system all set up for the year. I paid him in full for the initial turning on of our sprinkler system, sending in the backflow report and that payment would also take care of winterization services in the fall. Multiple service call times were agreed upon, and Terry told me he would be out in my area (this was in October of last year-2024) where he would stop by to turn our water off. He stopped by, had a conversation with my husband and told my husband everything was taken care of and that he would see us in the spring. So we thought we were good to go. Then in December of last year, we had a neighbor reach out when we weren't home saying we had water shooting out of the side of our house, our neighbor said he thought it was our backflow device. So we called Terry right away and explained the situation. He advised my husband on how to turn the water off over the phone. Terry then came out the following day to flush out the line and told my husband we were all good to go again and that he would see us in spring of next year. Now, keep in mind this was his second time out to our home, and on both occasions he told us we were completely taken care of and good to go. So I called Terry last week to set up our annual apt. We had an apt. time set up for today 4/29/2025 where he said he should be at my home sometime that morning to get me all set up for the year. At 11AM apt. day, I still had not heard from him and was needing to leave my house. So I called him and asked if we were still on for our apt. today. He said yes, he thinks he should still make it out to my house today. He then proceeded to tell me that my backflow device was broken, and that I needed to get that repaired before he can really do anything. I said, "Terry what are you talking about, this is the first I am hearing about anything like this?" Then he tried to tell me that I didn't contact him last year to get the water turned off in time and that our pipe burst. I explained to him that he came out in the fall, then had to come back out in December because he didn't do what he should have in the first place back in October which resulted in our backflow device bursting when the pipes froze. I even went into detail about the conversation my husband had with him on both of those occasions when he came out. Never once on either of those occasions did he indicate or let us know that we had an issue with our backflow device. He basically told me that I was lying and he hadn't seen or talked to my husband at all last year. I proceeded to tell him, yes my husband let you into our home because I was still at work. You and my husband talked for a while and then you told him everything was good to go and that we would see him back next spring. Terry continued to deny any interaction with my husband and basically told us he is not responsible for the damage to our backflow device and offered no resolution to the problem. He told us we would have to pay a company to come out and have it replaced. I had a company come out who quoted us $1400 to replace the backflow device. This is absolutely ridiculous! We have been loyal customers for many years and this is how we were treated. To say I am beyond frustrated at this point is a huge understatement. This is a completely crooked company and business owner. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism I experienced in that phone call earlier today. He was completely disrespectful, dismissive and unapologetic about an issue he created. We will NEVER use his services again and I plead with anyone else reading this to save yourself the trouble and future hassle of being out $1000-1700 by him doing this to you too. He is completely disorganized and clearly has no idea who he has talked to, who's home he has serviced, and 50% of the time will no call no show on you. It's terrible to be treated in this manner after years of doing business with someone. Use someone else with integrity!

Approximately 2 weeks prior to July 2022 he was paid to inspect & turn on the system for the season. A week after activating the system, I noticed the outside piping leaking and contacted Mr. Matthews to come back and address the leak. When he arrived, he indicated that he would need to do a backflow service. This service blew the plug off the systems indoor system pipe, and flooded my basement, damages amounting to $26,458.91 where sustained. Due to Mr. Mattews negligence of not appropriately, inspecting the indoor system plumbing before performing the backflow, which showed clear signs of corrosion, which was the result of him installing galvanized plug and connector instead of brass in 2007. After seeing my flooded basement he left and I have not heard from him since.

Begrudgingly, I was able to get that info out of the employee. WELL...BEWARE CUSTOMERS....my mulch job will cost 211% more in 2022. That's fleecing folks! Take up your annual landscape invoices with them (if you are a loyal annual customer) cause they won't volunteer specifically how much that same job this year will cost you next year without prodding them to provide that info.
