This business is right around the corner from my home. It's a bit expensive, but we are a bit rural so... manage your expectations there. That said, the store has a great selection of items, even a matcha tea I drink that is extremely difficult to find! I've been frequenting the Fern Prairie Market for 30 years. It was a family market with a deli and butcher counter that drew customers for miles. Some of the best steak in Clark County. That has all changed. The 'new owners' have completed changed the market's layout so you must circumvent a liquor department that completely envelopes the front of the store. The staff is constantly changing and rude. One example. I recently stopped in to buy some fried chicken from the deli. It was 10 minuted to 7:00 pm. The sign on the counter says they close the deli at 7:00. When I asked for chicken )which there was a very large pile, the employee reached over and flipped off the light on the counter and said they couldn't sell me any. I asked why and she said it was too late. I pointed to the sign that says they close in 10 minutes, and she said they are allowed to close 15 minutes early. Tonight, I tried again to give them another chance. This time a new deli person, who told me she had been there 4 months, was extremely rude and condescending to an elderly gentleman who asked for ranch dressing for his jojo's. She told him no, and pointed to a sign that said it was only given with chicken. She said very sarcastically 'change is hard for some people, as he walked away. read more

I have been going the Fern Prairie Market for 15 Years, as we live right down the street. The staff their have always been amazing. They were friendly knew us by name and were so fun to visit. Lately the familiar staff are no longer there. The last two times I've been in the staff have been so rude. Today I forgot to wear my mask and the teal haired girl at the counter was so unprofessional and rude that it shocked me. I just put my ice cream on the counter and said "never mind ". The guy behind the counter with her said as nasty as possible "have a nice day". this of coarse made me so angry. I am disgusted by their unprofessional treatment and never go into the market again. The sad thing is is that we went in several times a week and used to love going there. I would have gladly gone to the car and got my mask if I wasn't talk to so rudely. Never in 15 years of going in several times a week have we ever been treated so poorly and then by two employees. I don't know if theirs new owners or what's happening but I so sad that this wonderful place has become so bad. read more

l always shop here it is a great mom and pop market. The thing I like the best, is it carries many locally made products from coffee made in Battle Ground to the Garlic Lady garlic. They also carry Western Family which is a local product. (Portland). Don't get me wrong, they have the name brand stuff too, but they go out of their way to carry local like to know that I support our local economy and the small businesses, and the product is always better!!! read more

I crave the chicken on a stick! It takes all of my will power to pass by when I am in the area. Today I couldn't hold back and also ordered a honey biscuit with blueberries. It's like a cross between a scone and a buttermilk biscuit. And it tastes better than one of those $4 biscuits you get at the fancy coffee shops. The deli lady was really nice, but I was quite put off by one of the cashiers, who is clearly not happy with her job. I know this because as I was approaching the cash register she yelled to her co-worker (and these are her exact words), "I am so f***ing happy it's Friday. I can't stand to be here for one more minute." Her co-worker seemed quite embarrassed at this outburst and simply said, "I am thankful that I have a job." She rang me up, was polite, and told me to have a good day. The other lady should be fired. I felt super uncomfortable after the mini fit she threw. read more

Great local spot. Conveniently located in the middle of nowhere for those emergency gas runs on the tractor or quad. A pit stop for snacks and drinks on your way up to Larch mountain. Delicious, local, handmade doughnuts, but get there quick before they're all gobbled up --they go fast. Our favorite pick in the deli is corn dogs and Jo-Jo's. They have a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Also carries a variety of liquor and electronic cigarettes. read more

Great little market with a pretty good fried chicken place inside. They used to have delicious freshly butchered beef but recently only offer packaged meat. What a shame we used to come here all the time for their wonderful cuts of high quality meat. read more

We shop here regularly being as it's very close to home. Super friendly staff, and always willing to help. Carry great mix of Local and Name brand products. Fantastic meat counter with a good selection of all types of meat, and a hot food counter for a quick snack. Add the gas station and this place is really convenient.
