We realized we had about 1/4 of a tank left, and though Google told me this gas station was closed, we were getting desperately low and thought "Who would close a gas station on a long weekend, especially when they know they're the only gas station for another hour?" We got out of the van, only to be told by a guy standing beside his truck by a pump that they're closed, that the guy running the shop was getting him some Diesel, but didn't look happy about it. We even saw the guy walking around in the shop, 100% directly avoiding us because if he came out he'd have to talk to us, and maybe even help us. We thought we were royally screwed; after a brief discussion with the guy by his truck, we decided we have to risk it. It was a mostly downhill trip, so as long as we didn't push too much we'd probably be okay. Thankfully we made it to Hope, but it's beyond mind boggling that this place was closed.

But you can see it on Google StreetView. It's a little dingy and beaten up, but the gas is fine. There are plenty of pumps available too, so there was no lineup. The only issue is that the pavement is all torn up, with bumps and puddles everywhere. So if you're on a motorcycle, be extra careful.

The dumb thing is earlier, we thought it was closed but decided to return to it to check it again because she was surprised when I told her we checked it already and thought it was closed. Low and behold, she was right and we were ever so grateful to her for getting us back there. Winter time is hard to find a sanitation dump. Very hard! She was a perky girl with a great attitude! They even sell freshly baked muffins. I stocked up on Mexican Coca Cola. It's very medicinal and hard to find. The gas is priced a bit high, but since we were low and didn't map this trip out, better fill up where we can. We spent a remarkable day around Boston Bar, then stumbled on to this gem. It's not much to look at but it's clean, as are the restrooms. There's a super friendly guy named Dave that I have to assume is the owner. A really cool experience, for a convenience stop!!! 09/22
