This past weekend on Sunday, the Sunday before the Victoria Day holiday that was on Monday, my partner and I were on a roadtrip from Osoyoos to Vancouver. We realized we had about 1/4 of a tank left, and though Google told me this gas station was closed, we were getting desperately low and thought "Who would close a gas station on a long weekend, especially when they know they're the only gas station for another hour?"
We got out of the van, only to be told by a guy standing beside his truck by a pump that they're closed, that the guy running the shop was getting him some Diesel, but didn't look happy about it. We even saw the guy walking around in the shop, 100% directly avoiding us because if he came out he'd have to talk to us, and maybe even help us.
We thought we were royally screwed; after a brief discussion with the guy by his truck, we decided we have to risk it. It was a mostly downhill trip, so as long as we didn't push too much we'd probably be okay. Thankfully we made it to Hope, but it's beyond mind boggling that this place was closed. read more
