Additionally there were actually several restaurants and convenience stores in the area which was a change from the remote RV parks we had stayed at previously. The staff inside the store were EXTREMELY friendly. I have seen some negative posts about religion which I do not understand. Not once did I encounter anyone trying to push religion down my throat, nor did I notice an inappropriate amount of bibles laying around. Also, who cares? You don't have to read the bible in the bathroom just because it's there. I would highly recommend staying at Grizzly Ridge! Also there is a beautiful brand new metal deck area with steps leading down to it right on the river. I'm attaching pictures. Must see! Plus: water, sewage, and electric hook ups!

So we called them and they said they would try to fit us in that day or the next. Awesome! We had a friendly neighbor jump off the truck and was able to drive it to No Sweatt. They kept it overnight and when we called to check on the status they said it was done and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Only charged us $39.96 for checking it out. He would not give me any estimate saying that since it was 'tire season' he didn't know when he could get to it. I explained that I had an appointment weeks ago and he basically threw his co-workers under the bus saying "You didn't have to leave it here, that was a miscommunication between the person who took your appointment and the shop". This vehicle had to be towed there so I couldn't easily just take it somewhere else. When the vehicle was 'finished' he told me I had to take it elsewhere to get aligned. When I had that done, there were parts that needed replaced which they didn't tell me about despite being directly connected to the part they replaced.

The check engine light came on, and it's a Sunday in Seward, so there were no mechanic shops open. I did a google search and found Eddy's shop, google didn't say it was closed, so I gave them a call. Eddy had his personal cell number listed on his voicemail, so I sent a quick text apologizing for bothering him on the weekend, but asking if he would be able to read the code on the truck before I drove back to Anchorage. (There is a Napa in town, but they don't have a code reader any more) He wrote back right away, and offered to meet me at his shop in 30 minutes! I drove over there, and he pulled up a few moments after. He treated me like you'd expect a dad would, super friendly and helpful. He made sure that I knew what was wrong and gave me a quick tutorial on what would probably need to happen to fix it so that I could relay it to my husband. I know very little about cars, but he didn't try to cheat me at all or anything like that. (I have had some bad mechanics in the past) He reassured me that I would be fine to make it home, it was just a little sensor that was acting up. So very thankful for the peace of mind! On top of that, he sent me a text after I got home to make sure that I had made it alright. If I EVER need anything done on a vehicle while I'm in Seward, I know where I will go.

Over 15 months, I was repeatedly told it would be "put back on for diagnostics," and given several timelines when it would be ready, but none of these were followed through. The most frustrating part was the lack of communication. After long periods without updates, I visited the shop in person and was told there wasn't time to provide updates, and that I would only be contacted when the vehicle was ready. The last communication I had was on January 21, 2026, and I've heard nothing since. After months without a vehicle, I had to go through insurance, which declared it a total loss due to the extended time without a working car. Even though insurance payments were made, there was no resolution, follow-up, or acknowledgment from the shop. As a business owner myself, I don't take leaving reviews lightly. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop, especially for larger repairs.

Just nothing, we tried jumping it and again nothing but a high pitched whine. We called late morning or early afternoon and he showed up within an hour or so. He came right to our campsite as we couldn't move the jeep. He did a quick test of it and said the starter was bad. He went to Napa and the part they had in the box was the wrong one!!! So had to wait for another one to ship in. It came the next morning and while we were out on an excursion, he got the job done. Starter was $600.00 and his overall price was fair. I'm suprised no one has reviewed the Harbormaster's office. First, let me say I'm not a fisherman…read more But their office is very accessible, both online and at the center of the dock. The staff was very friendly and kind. Information was easy to locate. They even had moorage applications attached to the entrance in case you arrive after hours and are pressed for time. I was also impressed with their ancillary services on site and accessibility. A quaint picnic area, clean public toilets and showers, and a HUGE sharps container. As a healthcare worker i found this really impressive and surprisingly unique in Alaska. Good job Seward!

I understand some people are a nuisance but to just turn around and cry to the cops just cause they're homeless and obviously mentally disabled is not ok it's borderline discrimination in my opinion. I've heard the back story of the person that sleeps there and it's quite sad actually. However, for people to just constantly harass the police about him is not OK.
