Attended my best friend's wedding reception at Chevy Chase Country Club and had a charming time!! Luckily our hotel shuttled us to and from the venue so we were able to enjoy ourselves fully. The entrance is a great spacious area with variety of comfy seats and spaces to place pictures to honor loved ones and showcase the couples travels and love story. We made it to the bar and noticed the cute signature drink signage. The margarita was delish! There were a lot of folks crowding the bar for cocktail hour and the two bartenders were busting their chops to serve all guests..couldn't help but noticed they could of used a third person to ease the load. Making our way to the next part of the room, there were cocktail tables, a photo booth, and sign-in/gifts table. After awhile the staff removed some dividers to reveal a spacious area for the tables and guests with the sweetheart table center and ample room for dancing. The evening flowed with speeches, plated dinners, dances, and a champagne toast. The salad sat on a cheese bowl with boats of dressing to pass around, the entrees had tasty veggies and creamy potatoes. My fiancés salmon tasted better than the chewy filet mignon. As soon as the dancing started, the staff would whisk away plates and bottles of wine to which our table requested the bottles be left behind due them still being consumed / half full. The bar was still flowing and later in the evening there were some midnight snacks. Bathrooms had plenty of stalls and were clean. The overall time we had went by too quickly! I traveled over an hour to play this course after I previously called to see if you could be 16 to drive a cart and they said yes when I got there, I was denied access to a cart by an employee named Jim. He was difficult to work with and said you needed to be 18 to drive a cart which was fine because we had a driver that was over 18 and he said we could still not drive a cart. Cart path only, that's ok, we need to keep fairways in shape, but the youngsters figured out they could drive down the fairway in reverse. Several groups doing this. Not a ranger to be found. My husband and I cannot recommend CCCC as your venue more. Everything went off without a hitch, including the need for the venue to be open at 8am sharp on the wedding day so as to avoid any delays. Tammy Velkova was our helper from the Sales office, and Adrian was our helper for the day of execution. Both were amazingly pleasant to work with and professional/experienced in their careers - which we were grateful for all their expertise and assistance in making our wedding day the best day I could have ever imagined. The food was delicious, and the bar is quite a sight to behold with all of their premium liquors and beautiful oval bar. We had our ceremony at CCCC in The Abbey, and it was worth every penny. ~180 people did fit, but it couldn't have held any more people than that. We also utilized the bridal suite all day for the girls to get ready in, and it was perfect! The bathroom stalls, mirrors, chairs, closets, and sunlight all made for beautiful getting ready photos and enough space for the vendors. This venue had all the right accommodations to make this wedding our own in a timeless way. Our DJ's got to hook up their visuals to the projectors in the Grand Ballroom reception area, and it was icing on the cake that they went above and beyond that way. Thank you, Chevy Chase for helping us make the memories of a lifetime. We will be back for whatever reasons we can come up with! Terrible , terrible experience created by the manager Adrian and his side kick. Rude , disrespectful and backwards. DO NOT book anything here!! Stolen food , no cold drinks and a terrible wedding service. Cleaning tables so the guests will leave faster, even if the event was paid and scheduled Manager just standing around doing nothing instead of assuring that the guests are happy. Some dishes were totally raw and some cold.. Rather then doing such a shitty job , quit of you don't like your job. Don't make other people suffer because you're frustrated. A family member recently had her wedding at the Chevy Chase country club and it was really a lovely affair. They had the ceremony and the wedding reception there in the exact same space. The staff had the tables all ready and heading off to the side so you were able to enjoy the beauty of the golf course in the background and of course the beauty of the wedding ceremony without feeling like these tables were waiting around from you. Right after the wedding we went into the main lobby area for cocktails and to enjoy talking to other people. Within a half an hour they open the doors and all the tables were set up and everyone was ready to sit down for dinner. From a guest perspective, the staff really did a great job. They had enough people staffing the bar area, the tables were taken care of, the food was very good. What more can someone ask for from a great wedding? read more

I've been to several events at the Chevy Chase Country Club and the food and service is wonderful.

Came most recently on a Sunday. A friendly staff member came to my car with a cart which was a nice surprise and a great start to the day. But then the Pro shop staff was absolutely awful. Left a club on the course last time I was there. Staff could care less, and wouldn't even let me look for my club from the dozens they keep. Who knows if they sell them off at the end of the season. Course was pretty well kept and pace was good. read more

I played this course many times this summer and last. I would play early in the morning and be one of the first off the tee. Normally my friend and I get off quickly and without issue. Toward the end of the summer, it started to be a bit of a scramble and other golfers were pushing to get off first even though they didn't have a tee time. The course was in decent shape this year because of the early spring rain and cool weather. I enjoy playing morning golf at Chevy Chase. Looking forward to next season. Almost broke 80! read more

I grew up in Mt Prospect right by the split of Milwaukee and River Road. I have driven by Chevy Chase hundreds of times, but I don't recall ever going to Chevy Chase. I recently attended a wedding and reception @ Chevy Chase Country Club. The wedding was beautiful the reception or more accurately the food was very mediocre. It was an outdoor wedding no rain and not too warm outside a very nice day to tie da knot. (Uhhh kind of like a hangman's noose lol). Just kidding After the wedding we went in and they had an open bar & appetizers. The appetizers were decent & pretty plentiful as the servers made the rounds while I had a couple of stiff drinks (Glenlivit on the rocks). They served egg rolls Filipino style AKA lumpia, tiny little creamed salmon w/salmon eggs on a tiny spoon (ok), chicken skewers (tasty) and some udder appetizers. Once the cocktail hour was over we grabbed our seats and waited to be served. There was a soup served that was pretty tasty, but unfortunately I don't remember much about it? The main dish was a selection between salmon or chicken. Both my wife and I chose the salmon. The salmon came w/a dill sauce, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The salmon wasn't very good it was very dry and tasteless. The potatoes were yummy. We both had leftovers that I used the next morning for a salmon & asparagus omelet left over spinach from a previous meal w/minced garlic & onions added. I also used some of the salmon w/onions & garlic and made fried rice. Our breakfast tasted a lot better then the meal the night before (just saying) Anyway after years of seeing Chevy Chase Country Club and driving by the actual visit was unfortunately not very impressive. read more

Very bizarre, rude staff, got there at 12:50 for a 1:20 tee time and an employee said i was way to early for a cart waived me off and kept driving...Got on the tee at 1:15 and the starter screams "you can go ya kno".....my cart died twice, the first time we called we were told "we will be out in a bit". There was more employees on carts than there was golfers, upgraded cart cost for upgraded carts they are still waiting on to arrive. It's unfortunate i have never gotten a chance to play here and i did for 70$ and i wont be back. If you want to spend that amount for a good experience go elsewhere. Im only giving it two stars instead of one because the course itself was well Maintained for the most part. Out of towners go elsewhere. read more

You do NOT need to look further for a wedding reception venue. Chevy Chase IS the place. My husband and I chose to have our wedding reception at the Chevy Chase Country Club ,(Devonshire Room) on August 20, 2021. We couldn't be happier with our selection. The staff at Chevy Chase and the food was out of this world!  The grounds and venue were gorgeous and very well maintained. Chevy Chase even goes out of their way to greet the bridal party with champagne, appetizers, and cheese board after the ceremony. The staff was always professional, helpful, and accommodating. Everything was set up perfectly. Our guests are still raving about the food! It really was the best good we've ever had at a wedding. Here are the menu items we served our guests. Appetizers: Bacon wrapped dates Southwest egg rolls Crab and avocado spoons (for our vegetarians) Bruschetta (for our vegetarians) Soup: Tomato and Basil Bisque Salad: Santa Fe Salad Main entree: Filet Mignon Garlic mashed potatoes Carrot and baby zucchini bundle Chef Alfredo is the best. I'm very mixed on this course because last year they had a flood that forced them to close for nearly the whole year. That had to hurt. This year it's open and is still in recovery mode with one hole on the back using a temporary green. Everyone from the guys in the office to the starter didn't tell us that. Their rates are simply too high for what you get in return unless you can snag an Internet deal.Weekend rates approach eighty bucks. I was not and am not a fan of this course. The tee boxes are too close to the greens and that makes for errant shots possibly hitting someone on the tee which should be a safe place. At least they moved some of the tees and took down the fences that protected the tee boxes when last reconfigured but it's still too close. As for the clubhouse it's in a hell of a lot better shape than the course. They have remolded the whole joint as far as I can tell and it's a huge place dating back to the early 1900's. The calendar might read February, but that doesn't mean Golf is far from my mind. My buddies and I have a golf association, complete with tournaments and golf outings. Every year we try out some new courses in the area and play our tournament there. We are just a bunch of good friends that love the game of golf, and by no means are we scratch golfers. I just wanted to write this review about Chevy Chase Country Club, because by far its one of the best golf courses I've played in. Our tournament went off with a hitch last Summer, and everyone at the club was very accommodating. The service here is excellent, and the golf course was in pristine condition. Everything from the Clubhouse, to the Pro Shop was top notch, and I would recommend this golf course to anyone in a heartbeat! I'm itching to play golf like Tiger Woods....errr, maybe I wont go there. If your looking for a very good public course around the area, this should be one of your first destinations. read more

We wanted to go somewhere special for Mother's Day brunch and chose Chevy Chase CC thinking that it's a country club they've got to have a fantastic brunch (especially for $70 @ person), WOW was that a wrong assumption to make! To have a Mother's Day brunch one would figure that they would have some type of omelet station not just scrambled eggs sitting in a warming pan. They did have french toast sticks but were overcooked (almost burnt) and cold, the hash-browns were just large McDonald's type potato cakes that were barely warm, the biscuits were cold & hard and the gravy was lukewarm basically a majority of the food was cold. The carving station had roast beef that was overcooked and luke warm and the lamp was undercooked. They were constantly running out of plates, coffee cups, and coffee condiment's. The deserts table looked like it was more of a sampling table where the deserts were cut up in tiny pieces to make it look like there was so much more, not to mention the tongs to grab the deserts looked like they had been used the night before by the amount of food stuck on the end of them. (try changing them out once and a while or cleaning them off during the event) You would think that a Mother's Day Brunch would include at least one (1) Mimosa for each of the guests but those were available at the cash bar for $9.00 each. Please don't thing that this is just one person complaining, there were 6 in our group and they all felt the same, as though we were grossly overcharged for subpar food that was warm at best. We would of been better off going to Denny's where the food would have been hot and not cost $70.00 per person! I highly recommend you look elsewhere! read more

This place is unbelievably amazing! Jan, Wendy and the whole staff are incredible and accommodating to your needs. They make what you need work within your budget. My husband and I were married there a few weeks ago and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Everyone left our wedding wanting more. The compliments were over flowing. We used the grand ballroom for our wedding and reception. The room also doesn't require a lot of decor because of the atmosphere. The room is the decor. My husband and I recently got married here on Nov. 10th in the Devonshire Room. Everything was just magical. My taste is generally minimalistic and rustic. This room with its neutral color palette, huge windows looking onto the golf course, gorgeous dark wood floors, and clean standard chairs made for the perfect setting for us. We worked primarily with Jan and Kelsi as well as Nate the day of. They all were on top of the details and really took care of us. Everyone loved the food and the bar. All along the way we had an easy and fun time planning with the staff. They even gave us another complimentary food tasting to accommodate my vegetarian mother-in-law! I attended an event in May 2016 for about 150 people where I was served the worst food ever. It was a plate of nasty over cooked vegetables, plain white rice with a tiny piece of salmon and dried out chicken breast. The kicker was the nasty white sauce slathered over the proteins. The chef clearly has no idea what he's doing. He couldn't even sprinkle chopped parsley on it to disguise the nastiness. Too bad Wheeling spent all that money remodeling the facility and then made a poor hiring decision for the chef role. read more

July 8, 2017 we had our wedding reception at Chevy Chase. From the day we walked in, I knew it was the perfect fit!! Thank you Jan, Allison, Nate, Chef Oscar and the rest of the staff for making our special day above and beyond! The entire team worked with us and outside vendors seamlessly! Communication was immediate, both phone and email and not one detail was missed. We loved seeing Jan at the reception too :) The Grand Ballroom is just that! Grand! From the vintage bar to the dance floor and patio guests have a number of places to have a great time. It was gorgeous. They recently renovated and highlighted the vintage charm of the location. The woodwork for the stage and bar are stunning. We had a band, so loved using the stage! The bridal party loved having photos on site, being a part of cocktail hour as well as spending time in the bridal suite. We did photos on site, so spent time there where I requested we have some sweets from the sweet table and brought in sandwiches. Chevy Chase had no issue and made sure the room was set up perfectly! Photos before cocktail hour was not a problem and the staff was so warm and welcoming! The event ran perfect!! Shout out to Nate for his professionalism and hard work!! Food was incredible!!! We did a dual plate of tenderloin and chicken. Green beans and au gratin potatoes. Delicious! The cake you can do different flavors for each layer, which was great! We brought in our own sweet table and they plated and set up with an additional fee. The day after was so easy. Clean up was done! We just had to come in and take all our materials off the table and into the car the next day. There was no pressure or specific time needed to get there. We also completely forgot about freezing the top of the cake ... whoops!! Without any push back, we were able to work with Chevy Chase & the Lovin Oven to remake the top to enjoy our one year!! We loved our wedding venue so much, we raved about it to friends who are getting married this winter! We cannot wait to be back. We have nothing but amazing things to say about CCCC. First off, the grounds are beautiful and the layout is very spacious. The staff is super helpful and are quick to answer all our questions. Kelsi showed us the Grand Ballroom and we automatically knew this was our venue. Jan was awesome at walking us through the whole process and she was very reassuring. She goes above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect. Nate was our event manager for the night of and his friendly server team were quick to set up. Our guests raved how gorgeous our ceremony and reception were. Our night went smoothly and the food was great. Our guests loved the horseshoe bar and the liquor package. Erin and I had our wedding reception in the Devonshire Room this June 6th. Our 180 guests had a great experience. The venue was beautiful and because it was just recently renovated, we did not have to spend much money at all dressing the room up. All we did was decide on our linen colors, our chair designs, and our centerpieces. The staff was very professional and competent and we felt very comfortable letting them make adjustments without our approvals. No micromanaging needed. Jan and Wendy helped us with the floor layout and any tweaks they made during the day of the reception were the right ones. We had lots of great comments on the food. The chef cooked the dishes just right. The cocktail area and the patio area were definite highlights and facilitated mingling easily. Finally, the acoustics in the room were excellent. No issues at all with echoes. Overall a great venue with reasonable prices. We recommend this to future bride and grooms. read more

For shame Chevy Chase! Not a single golf cart on site for us to take on a drunken late-night joy ride. What would Ty Webb think!?! Again I say for shame! Well, I didn't come here for golf (or with the express intention of getting arrested), I came for a wedding reception. The grounds themself are fantastic, the buildings well kept, but the serving staff couldn't seem to get their timing down. They also didn't seem to care for our table as they only rounded twice with the appetizers and that was after going to every other table. I know we were the table of "randoms" but that no reason to ignore us. Eeesh. Also, they didn't seem to have the timing of dinner service in order, and why give us coffee when you've JUST served us dinner. By the time the cake came the coffee was cold. Boooo. The bartender, however, did an amazing job. She certainly kept the beer flowing, which is always appreciated at a wedding. It's pretty here, there are little patios outside the small reception rooms which are good for cooling off or catching up with someone you haven't seen in a while. Overall, it's a fine place for a reception, but the staff might want to work on their skills. read more

We got married in the Grand Ballroom and everything turned out gorgeous. We used uplighting/drapery to cover up the green curtain which really brightened the space. The outside patio is beautiful and very scenic. The food was also very good as well, we ran out of desserts and late night food very quickly! The day-of was great, especially with the event coordinator there the day-of to handle the logistics. The main negative here is the planning beforehand and communication. Organization seemed to be an issue as the event coordinator team forgot we had appointments, forgot that we are not local (and therefore could not easily come back in the chat about plans), forgot to "reply all" in emails for the entire year and half of exchanges, and it took no less than 10-12 versions of the final invoice to get it right. We caught many errors in the quantity of items, charges that weren't supposed to be there, and even spelling my name wrong only a month before the final payment. All in all I would definitely go back to Chevy Chase for the wedding, and my advice would is to be very diligent in looking though the details of the planning, and sending reminders for appointments and meetings. Everyone was friendly and I did trust that all would be perfect for the day of, so I am overall a happy customer. read more

The grounds are beautiful. The facilities charming and they know how to throw a St. Patrick's Day party! We were entertained by an incredible band called the "Matt Stedman Band". They were so versatile that they could easily move between classic Irish songs to a little blues, jazz and it's all so smoooth. I even bought their CD. The next delight was the wonderful Trinity Dancers. Such talented young girls. It's inspirational. You can easily see how Irish Dance was the root of other forms of dance- tap, ballet...Irish dance goes back to the fifth century- maybe even further- had the Viking raders not destroyed all the books and records from this period. The only part of the evening that was lacking, was the dinner. Yes, I know that Corned beef and cabbage is not known to be an exciting dish- but you'd be surprised at how much of a difference a little salt, pepper and maybe even butter could make : ) All in all a good time was had by all and we will be back. read more

We went to an event in their parking lot to watch a Bears game on a huge screen, complete with rides, games, food and beer! It was a great event, I wish they would do it more often....or something similar. I think it was also in conjunction with the Wheeling Park District, so great job guys! I had my first AND second baby shower here and I can't say enough GREAT things about it!!! First off- price is phenomenal!!! Best price around for all you get. We did the breakfast/brunch buffet both times. You get eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, biscuits and gravy, etc. EVERYONE raved about how great the food was! The staff are so accommodating and so sweet and gracious! They renovated the Devonshire Room and it's beautiful! Hardwood floors and overlooks the golf course. I mean it when I say- this is the place to go to for any function! I have not one bad thing to say and will continue to book with them for every event!!! read more
