After a long day of walking, talking, and imagining his future, we were more than ready for a comforting dinner. Tita Mia's has been a staple for us ever since a very good friend introduced it to our family a couple of years ago, and it has become a non‑negotiable stop every time we're in town. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by their inviting pastry area, an instant mood‑setter that hints at the good meal ahead. As we walked further in, the ambiance washed over me with a wave of nostalgia. Everything about the space, the décor, the warmth, the familiar scents, reminds me of home in Manila. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're about to enjoy a true Filipino dinner, not just a restaurant meal. Since it wasn't too busy, we were seated right away and our server took our order promptly. Service was quick and friendly, which we always appreciate after a long day. We ordered some of our favorites: Kare-Kare, sisig, and lumpiang gulay. Each entrée comes with rice, so there was no need to order extra. The food arrived fast and piping hot. Their Kare-Kare is exceptional, rich, creamy, and full of that deep peanut flavor that instantly brought me back to my mom's cooking. The sisig came out sizzling just the way it should, perfectly cooked and not overly salty like versions I've had elsewhere. And the lumpiang gulay was freshly fried, crisp, and absolutely perfect when dipped in vinegar and paired with rice. By the end of the meal, we were happily stuffed, with enough leftovers to take home. Tita Mia's continues to be one of those places that feels like a warm hug, consistent, comforting, and deeply satisfying. We'll always make it a point to come back, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Filipino flavors.

Perfect for large family gatherings.

I like that it's a concise menu that offers just enough without doing too much. The service was quick. Seated immediately. Several other couples there, plenty of seating available. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered avocado toast. I give it 5 stars. This was more of an adult meal, my daughter's palette wasn't there for this. The sauce or jam on it with balsamic wasn't something she liked, but I thought it was fabulous with an egg on top. The vanilla latte with vanilla cold foam? My daughter said was way better than Starbucks. So that's a compliment from her world! She said 10 stars. The potato that came with the avocado toast was excellent. Perfectly seasoned. The side of turkey bacon, a little dry. But that's usually how it is.

We came and ordered and our food was out quickly. The portions were large and delicious. There's plenty of amazing choices and you can make your selections of omelets into skillets (which I love). You also can choose from an assortment of exciting flavors on the selections. Some dishes you'll find amazing choices with Zaatar or Halloumi Cheese. I am in love, honestly. Ohhh and they made me FRESH iced tea. That's insane and it was delicious. I am looking forward to coming back here. It's definitely a great restaurant.

Each place has a theme, or a charm all its own and Grind N Gears Cafe is one of the latter. When you pull up you immediately recognize the place as a former body shop or service station. Not a as station, but a body shop. They have their own small parking lot in front with special motorcycle parking on the sides of the lot. It's a small place. When you walk inside there is a runner leading up to the counter with their case of delicious looking eats and a platform above with an old Indian motorcycle perched looking over the place. To the right of the counter are some toys for the kids, including a kids motorcycle and other funs toys to keep the kiddos busy while their parents enjoy a magically concocted coffee drink by the shops artisans. There are comfy little sitting areas composed of oversized furniture from your parents basement. The front has a few racks of leather jackets that feels like your at The Alley's northern location. They do have some hats and apparel for their own shop and I almost bought a hat. On the left side, they have another seating area, but it looks more like a table in a cozy kitchen than a sitting room. It's quaint no matter where you look or sit. Lastly, their drinks and food are quite good. With all the stand alone coffee places popping up, Grinds N Gears is one of the cooler places and I don't mean hipster.

I had expected more pancake options on the menu since it is a pancake cafe but there are ~4 options available (aside from the standard buttermilk and gluten free ones). I had the California omelet (avocado, mushrooms, tomatoes, pepper jack cheese) with hashbrowns and pancakes. I upgraded to the berry pancakes (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries) for an upcharge. My child had the pancakes from the kid's menu which came with two small pancakes and a meat of her choice (she chose bacon). Food took some time to come out and we had to ask for water. My omelet was decent but the hashbrowns were overcooked and dry. The berry pancakes were just okay. There was fresh fruit on top but I didn't care for the berry drizzle on top of the pancakes as it tasted artificial. The kid's meal was very plain (I don't know what I expected) and I should have shared my meal with my child since she ended up eating all the berries off my pancakes anyway.

The place was definitely happening and a lot of people coming through both to eat there take things to go as well as some really quick pickups of cars, stopping with passengers, dropping out and picking things up and hopping back in the car. Parking looked good because the surrounding buildings and other businesses were still closed at nine or 10 in the morning so I think the parking was pretty open and available The inside is very bright and clean. Every single person was working here that Saturday morning could not have been older than 21. And even despite their young age, they were all super nice and very friendly and helpful. Not a single one of them were on their cell phones, distracted or doing something else. What's cute about the places that yes you do order at the counter and you get a sign with a real street name from Glenview as your identifier for your food to be delivered to your table. They also clean up your table when you're done so you don't actually have to bring anything anywhere. Now for this type of counter service, I typically don't tip, but I did simply because our cashier who had rung up our order again was very young, but super attentive, very friendly very helpful as well, including her recommendations. I don't typically expect this type of service from someone this young, especially in a busy happening restaurant. I definitely need to come back here again. I need to try more of their menu. Only reason I'm giving them four stars is that while the inside is very nicely decorated it is tight and when there are a lot of people there are chairs being bumped and people bumping into everyone everywhere and I don't like that also on this hot summer day they keep all the doors open, which completely defeats the purpose of sitting inside for the sake of the air-conditioning so close the doors so people who want to sit inside and get nice and cool

The casino is super clean, there's plenty of parking, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The drink service was good and the food was surprisingly delicious. They were absolutely ruthless to me and happily accepted every dollar I fed them. Meanwhile, my husband somehow walked away $500 richer, which I'm still trying to process. Apparently the machines only like him. Even though the slots clearly had a personal vendetta against me, we still had a great time and will probably be back (because hope springs eternal when it comes to casinos).
