this is a very clean and well kept area . The actual building contains many species and was entertaining. The lake adjacent to the property was absolutely beautiful. I guess I was just expecting a little more because the reviews were so good. But this venue is good to kill an hour or so when traveling.

A free and absolutely beautiful place to spend an afternoon. My family and I visited during a Friday afternoon and really enjoyed it. The outdoor gardens are beautiful with bees and butterflies flying about. The pond had large koi swimming around. The grounds are well maintained with many awesome flowers and plants to see. Indoors there is a green house with a special separate area for succulents and dry plants. Staff were friendly. They have programming available to visitors that would make sense for us to learn about if we were locals. I highly suggest a visit.

A nice free attraction to spend a few hours. There are flowers, lakes, statues, indoor attractions, gift shop and more plants and park benches to relax. Enjoy the beautiful day.

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens isn't all that big; it took us just under 40 minutes to cover everything it had to offer on our last visit. Tip: You can't argue with the value proposition of this place - it's free ;-) Despite the small size, we enjoyed our visit, and I'd even consider coming back another time after a sufficient interval has elapsed.

Came here over the weekend on a day trip to Cheyenne from Denver. The Botanical Gardens were highly recommended to see, and was well worth the visit given that it was 100% free. The people working here were super friendly and welcoming, which made the overall experience a great one. At first glance, the Botanical Gardens seem very large especially when just viewing the map. However, as you'll discover, the gardens aren't that enormous, but instead are well-sized and doable for a short hour (or two hour) visit.. giving you ample time to admire the plants and trees located both indoors and outdoors. During summer, the opening hours are longer - closing at 5pm. Plenty of parking (free!). The Botanical Gardens include the conservatory, and outside gardens - which includes areas for children, a nice little lake area, lots of plants, and a locomotive on display. For those of you wanting to find the Cheyenne Boots, there is also one located on site here. If I'm ever back in Cheyenne, I will definitely want to come back here to get a dose of greenery.

This time of year there is not a lot of plants outside of the conservatory that you can see, it's just a seasons thing. Inside the conservatory is beautiful and there were a lot of plants and plaques with information about the gardens. The children's play area seems like it would be really fun in the summer, but right now it was empty. It's hard to say what it would be like at peak season, but right now (early May) it's a little sad. You also have to buy a photography pass if you want to take a lot of pictures to post. I didn't buy it because there's not a lot to see at the moment. For the cheap price of free it was a wonderful experience and the staff was kind and informative. There was an older lady who was SO excited to tell us about the gardens, and it was fun to interact with her.

This is a very lovely place with free admission (donations appreciated). The indoor gardens were well done and allowed us to see sone tropical plants. Outside it was nice to stroll around. The children's garden would be great for the kiddos.

The Botanical Gardens is a great must see free activity if you are in Chyenne. It's Grand Conservatory features a tropical plant collection (including a 34-foot tall palm tree and uniqueanimal art), as well as a special bonsai house.

While traveling for work to Cheyenne, WY I was happily surprised to find such a lovely botanical garden in this small community! Not only do they have a lovely conservatory, building for programming and gardens, but they have an amazing children's garden complete with a learning lab. I was also very impressed to learn how they reused so many of the existing materials in their designs and turned a once-paved maintenance depot into a lush garden environment. I can see this garden providing a pivotal resource and respite for the Cheyenne community for generations to come.
