I'm not gonna lie-- sheer hunger drove me into Chez Higgins for a late lunch. After a few hours of walking around the Palace of Versailles, lunch was overdue and the plates I saw outside were enough to entice me to come inside. The dining room is larger than expected, which row seating with pillows and lights strung up. The waitress didn't speak a lot of English, but was very warm and welcoming.
Steak Frites - This specifically was the dish that convinced me to come inside. It was a skirt steak served with potato and sweet potato fries. The meat wasn't too tender, and it was under-seasoned. The fries were good, and the sweet potato provided a nice contrast.
Prosciutto Pasta - Definitely the best thing on the table. The cream sauce was tasty, and the prosciutto provided the salt that it desperately needed.
While the staff and service is fantastic here, the food is just okay. read more
