The best steak I've had in Europe! Absolutely incredible meat cooked to perfection. I had the rump steak, and at €19 it's a pretty good deal! It came with a salad as well as potatoes. The salad was delicious and I forgot to ask how they made their dressing. Simple and delicious. The potatoes were also good but I might try something else next time. And I've already failed to mention the amazing starter! House duck foie gras was definitely a luxury but was absolutely delicious. I had no intention of eating it all myself, but before I knew it I was looking at an empty plate. The service was also impressive, considering generally the service in France is not too great. This is hands down one of the best meals of my life. Our waitress (Alexandra) was an instant friend and made incredible recommendations. We trusted her when she told us the best wine to get and it was not the most expensive wine on the menu (which happens all too often elsewhere). The mood of this restaurant is just "happy." I don't know how else to talk about it. I have been to many fine restaurants in my life and none had the feeling of a joyful family place like this one did. The atmosphere is traditional French, but the service is above and beyond. If you are in town - come here last or you will just be disappointed in every other place. :) read more

Finished our tour of Versailles and decided to head away from the Chateau to grab some late lunch and happened upon La Tour. The restaurant was bustling with people and we saw that for 24.50 you could get either an appetizer and main course or main course and dessert. We ended up trying the La Tour Burger and the Confit Canard. Both were very tasty. The duck was a little bit over salted, but the flavor was good. To end the meal we had a panna cotta and we enjoyed it. Service was good and the restaurant staff all friendly. They also spoke English. read more

Stopped into this restaurant after spending most of the day at Versailles. Really glad I did. Ordered the bone marrow, the duck breast in pepper sauce, chocolate mousse, wine, and an espresso. For starters I had the bone marrow. It was my first time having bone marrow and I loved it. Not sure how it compares to other bone marrow but I really did enjoy it. Could not finish it but it was a great start to a great meal. My main course was the duck breast in pepper sauce with a nice light salad on the side. I really enjoyed this duck breast but not even close to as much as the one from Au Dernier Metro two days later. In comparison it was just okay. The wine recommended with this was good. My chocolate mousse was an experience. Never come here without trying this. It was light and airy, but melted so smoothly in my mouth that I never wanted it to end. Rich and decadent. So chocolaty. I have never in my life had a better chocolate mousse. The service was excellent. Very kind and attentive without being intrusive. Loved it. read more

Just to start, I'm like 99% positive this place is actually called Restaurant La Tour (as les meilleures viandes translates into "the best meat", and their website says the name is Restaurant La Tour) so if you have a problem finding it on your maps app, that is probably why. We needed a place to go for lunch before heading to the Palace of Versailles, and this place seemed to have decent Yelp reviews, so we decided to give it a try. It was lunch on a Saturday, but we didn't have a problem walking in and getting a table. So that's always a good start. In our exhaustion of trying to do all of Paris in one trip (no not really, but yes it felt that way), we opted not to have any wine with lunch. I started with the foie gras and had the burger (rare) for lunch. My partner had the foie gras and opted to get steak tartare with dauphinoise potatoes. The foie gras was nice, but massive. But it was just kind of a big slice of a foie gras terrine slapped on a plate with some dry toast. There was no chutney or anything to go with the foie gras, so it was really rich and it really needed something to cut back the richness. Plus there was zero presentation. It was just the foie gras in the middle of the plate with some toast on the side. It wasn't the best looking dish I've had in France. The burger was quite tasty actually, and cooked really well. They definitely err on the rarer side of things in France, so I was pleased to find my burger was just heavily seared quickly on both sides and completely raw the rest of the way. Delicious. The dauphinoise were good, but the steak tartare was one of the worst I've had. The texture was just wrong. There were some bits that were pureed, and others that were massive and chunky. It just felt wrong in the mouth. So that was a huge disappointment. I mean, it was an okay restaurant, and maybe I'm being harsh, but a little presentation and a little attention to detail would really improve the place considerably. read more

Was at the Versailles Palace all day. It was raining and we had to find a place to eat next to the palace. The coffee shop next door was busy, again it was raining. So we walked a few blocks and found Les Meilleures Viandes. The waiter (Benjamin) greets us at the door. We are the first to open the establishment at 11am. They seat us and we wonder if it will be the same French restaurant that were use to. But they handle us with care and serve us the greatest food and price I've had at such a fine restaurant. Do yourself a favor and come here to eat after you visit Chateau de Versailles! You will not regret it! My friends and I really enjoyed the food here. We ordered the Escargot, Beef Tartar, Beef burger, serrano ham plate, Bone marrow app, and a steak dish ( I can't remember) Every thing was great! They have a great selection of French wine to go with your meal. Place is a little fancy looking and stuffy. There were a lot of business people during our weekday visit. If you come, just look past all that stuff and enjoy some good food, especially if you are a carnivore! read more

I've had the best meal of my life at this restaurant... The bone marrow IS STRONGLY recommended by me. (For those who haven't tried it, it's a very different taste, mind blowing for me). For the dishes, they are all worth their price, the portion is decent and the quality of the food is very good. I also had the most tender steak of my life there. The waiter was very friendly, and was very patient with us even though he spoke little English. He tried his best to explain and tell us what was good to order. This was the worst restaurant during our Paris trip. Actually all restaurants in this city were pretty terrible and shitty. We went here because of the high ratings. My burger came out super rare and bland. And when I say bland I mean bland. The fries were limp and lifeless. My husband's veal scallopini was even worse!! Dry, rubbery, tough and again BLAND meat. It was as if the meat was marinated in water and a pinch of salt, I kid you not. The outer crust was tasteless and burnt. This is our fourth day in Paris and every restaurant we ate at was horrible, but this one was the worst of the worst. So 8 restaurants we ate at in total. Someone please please recommend a good restaurant for us!! Is everyone so easy to please that this place warranted such high reviews?? read more
