The best salon experience of my life! I wish every woman could have this marvelous experience!!!! Where do I begin...I was warmly greeted by Michelle when I entered the salon. The magic began as she analyzed my hair and asked specific questions about my lifestyle, what I like about my hair and the challenges with my hair. She continued to analyze my hair and listen to me as I expressed how I wanted to wear my hair, my lifestyle, and the amount of time I wanted to spend on caring for my hair. She kept asking questions to understand exactly what I was wanting in a haircut. Basically, I wanted a hairstyle to minimize my double chin, elongate my face, and soften the wrinkles in my face, as I am an older woman. Also, since I have had skin cancer I needed a hairstyle that could rebound from wearing a visor or floppy hat in the heat of the South Carolina summers. After Michelle had analyzed everything, she explained what she recommended and why she was making the recommendations. I was very impressed with her assessment and was ready to get started. Michelle explained what she was doing and why she was making certain cuts throughout the entire haircut. The end result was an incredible cut that took 15 years off my face and a hairstyle that I can easily maintain with a couple products and a great brush. When I returned home my husband told me that the new hairstyle was very becoming on me and encouraged me to continue wearing my new hairstyle. Honestly, I knew that I was asking for the impossible, but Michelle delivered! I am so thankful that I live close by so I can return for haircuts. From the moment I sat in Michelle's chair, and she began accessing the current state of my hair, and suggestions for the best possible options regarding color and cut, I told her, "Do whatever you think is best." Loooved my visit here!! I happened to walk in right when Michelle had some free time between her appointments and she helped me out. I got my eyebrows done and a cut! I was very thankful for her help as I'd come to the salon after having recently been to a different one where I has left unsatisfied. Michelle and I talked the whole time about hair and more, she was very personable. She told me she got into the business because of her passion for hair. For her its not about the money, it's about the hair and it's about the customer. She told me her goal was to make sure each customer knew that while they were in her salon, they were special. I was in HHI with the family for a few short days and as a busy professional with little time at home, I decided to visit Chez Michelle for a cut and highlights. They were very accommodating working me in on a very short notice. Lindsey did a amazing job, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. She did fantastic asking questions and really listening to what I wanted done, checking along the way to ensure we were on the same page. The best part of the experience was the warmth and friendliness of Michelle and Lindsey and the overall atmosphere of the salon. Fabulous experience at Chez Michelle! I was way overdue (6 months) for a cut and full highlights. In Atlanta, I just can't find the time to get my hair done! So, I decided while my husband was available to "beach it" with the kiddos, I would try a HHI salon! Michelle, the owner, answered her phone after hours! They booked me an appointment while I was on vacation with Katie! Katie was wonderful and my hair looks fabulous! I was a little nervous since I had only done research on the web but Katie did as wonderful of a job as my Atlanta hairstylist! I will definitely go back as it's fun to be pampered on vacation! I should also mention that we didn't have conditioner in our condo so Michelle and Katie even took care of me by sending me home with a nice bottle of shampoo and conditioner as a gift! My daughter was visiting from college and went to a competing salon on Hilton Head Island for foil highlights and a hair cut, and the result was horrible. I called Chez Michelle salon then next morning to see what could be done to rectify the poor job. Catie was able to meet with us to review the problem and make a recommendation for repairing the color. Catie spent almost 4 hours with my daughter to make sure that the hair color and hair cut was fixed. She used excellent products and was very patient and worked tirelessly to make sure that we were happy with the result. Very professional young lady. The Owner has a great personality and passion regarding the clients experience, with emphasis on communication between stylist & client. She listened and advised me on how to deal with my hair to achieve the look I desired. I absolutely LOVE this salon!!!! It's such a cute, quaint little cottage just off of Arrow rd. As soon as I went in for my appointment I was greeted with such warm, friendly faces and quickly offered a cup of coffee or tea. It's also very clean and comfortable. I am so picky about stylist, especially the ones around Hilton Head but I feel like I've finally found my girl in Catie Wolfe!!! I am extremely high maintenance about my hair and Catie was the first stylist that did exactly what I envisioned. Chez Michelle gave me a much needed treat prior to my college graduation. My normal stylist moved to Savannah, and I simply didn't have the time to go for a hair appointment. As a result I found this salon on yelp, and requested an appointment. I heard back promptly, and scheduled an appointment for a color and cut. I can not describe how enjoyable the entire experience was! I made my first appointment after meeting Michelle in the community and discussing my dissatisfaction with the health of my hair and the cut. Made an appointment online and I was called back within hours. I was schedued for a haircut within two days with Catie. I was a bit leary as the owner was not available for 10 days but Catie spent some time with me and we came up with solutions to correct a bad haircut I had received at home (NJ) It's a bit scary going to a new hairdresser expecially one so young..but Catie proved to be very talented. I live in the area 5 months of the year and it was with some trepidation that I first entered Chez Michelle four years ago for a haircut and color. My hair was a mess. It had grown wild and shapeless and the color had turned a combination of bleached out and brassy with dark roots. I also didn't really know what I wanted. I was given Michelle's card just the other day...I have already been in for a cut and color!!! She has so much knowledge, not only is her eye for color outstanding, but while washing my hair she could "feel" the shape of my head which indicated to her where I needed more volume during the cut.
