One of my favorite places to eat in all of Zermatt, especially after putting in some work on the slopes. When we arrived, we were welcomed with friendly staff and an incredible view of the snowy mountains while sitting outside. There were comfortable Chez Vrony blankets available along with magnets on the menus to counter against windy days. The ravioli was one of my favorite dishes - super memorable and beautiful.

Amazing food and service and views! My girlfriend (elite '24) left her Fanny pack and they were so nice and brought it right to our hotel in zermatt! Saved me a trip back up the mountain to get it for her! So sigma indeed!

We were on a long hike in the Alps and there on the hill was a charming wooden hut, we climbed to it and the nine of us found two long tables right by the window. The Service was efficient and friendly, the atmosphere all you could ask for in a swiss chalet perched amid the mountains. The food was outstanding, I had the spätzli = so good. Everyone was very happy with their food, from the creamy soup to spaghetti to salmon. Beautiful, I may never happen on it again, but I hope you do!

Had the most incredible lunch here! We went on a clear day and had a direct view of the Matterhorn. While the online reservations were booked out, we were able to call in the morning and get a table for later that day. We asked to sit outside, and they had blankets provided for us. The food was good, we especially enjoyed the truffle pizza, and it was convenient being able to ski down to a restaurant with such nice scenery. Can't wait to come back!

Fancy mountain lunch. Service is excellent. Location on the mountain is ski in, ski out. The outdoor seats would be amazing if the sun is out. Setting is rustic but chic, if a bit tight indoors. Great wine selection. Food is excellent too. Lamb cutlet actually were 2 double lamb chops, perfectly. I was expecting a schnitzel or something but was pleasantly surprised. Desserts were crowd pleasers.

Michelin restaurant overlooking the Matterhorn I can't recall what we ate but it was all good: from the risotto to the gnocchi Take the funicular to the Sunnega and an easy peasy hike down to the restaurant (about 20 min but we took our time) Do plan on hiking back up to make the last funicular down at 17:20 (20min if your a fast hiker) If you miss that it's about a 1.5hr hike down.

What a fantastic gem of a place this is! We went from Zermatt to Bleuherd and hiked the 5 lakes path to Chez Vrony. We had no reservations and we were seated outside. The views of Matterhorn and surroundings were breathtaking and added to a wonderful lunch. We had salmon tartare for appetizer. The freshness and flavor of this dish was beyond amazing. We ordered more food - mountain goat ravioli and gnocchi. Our lunches looked gorgeous and tasted delicious. We couldn't wait to try dessert, we ordered apricot cheesecake. This place is a gem and a highlight of our trip! Must-go.

Hidden on the slopes of Zermatt is a hidden gem of a restaurant! You ski up to the restaurant and stick your skis in the snow and walk in! We were lucky to sit outside so we could sit back and enjoy the view of the mountains! The food... this place has the best food on the mountain! I had the Goat Cheese Ravioli with dried pears, simply amazing! Others got the Burger that tasted very good and the Gnocchi that was awesome! The service was excellent! Note: try to get reservations early!

We went to Chez Vrony while hiking today the 5 lakes trail. We thought they weren't open yet for the season & pleasantly surprised to find them open for lunch & had room for us. The staff were extremely pleasant, professional and happy to help us in English. The food wasn't cheap but it was exceptional. We had aperol spritz, salad and the vrony burger. I highly recommend all of them! Too stuffed for dessert but they looked lovely. Oh yes, awesome view of Matterhorn from the terrace too. All fantastic!

The. Best. Lunch. Of. My. Life. I cannot say enough good about the food, setting, and service at Chez Vrony. There is no greater experience than hiking all day and coming across this little gem of a restaurant high in the Swiss Alps. My wife loved the fresh lamb with risotto and local herbs. I had the gnocchi with fresh black truffles. It was simply incredible. The views are unending and fantastic. The staff was amazing.

I love a Hugo Spritz on a summer day.

You don't get better food while hiking than Chez Vrony. The service, food, drinks, and view is above and beyond; it's like a dream. Don't miss the salad, tomato soup, and gnocchi.

Zermatt is famous for its Michelin star cuisine and I had the privilege to eat at one of these amazing restaurants. Chez Vrony sits on the mountain side and after skiing all afternoon we ended up here for a most amazing lunch. The ambiance is out of this world. Vronys brother is an artist and has repurposed all sorts of items to create chandeliers and abstract artwork that fills this establishment. The service was extraordinary but when your eating with the owners best girlfriend, this is likely going to be the case! The beef cheek and sweetbreads were so special and full flavored. We were quite full after a hearty meal so when we were asked if we'd like dessert. We all politely declined. So they brought us a six plated menagerie of desserts anyway!! What a fun day.

This place was the highlight of our visit to Zermatt. We were really nervous when we read about the walk to it since there really isn't a whole lot of info on exactly how you get to it. We needed to know the level of difficulty before going to know what we were in for. I'm here to tell you that the walk was really magical and not difficult at all. I'll tell you about the food and drinks and then I'll tell you exactly how to get there. I got the goat cheese ravioli and boy was that just perfect! I wish I could get that everyday. Most everyone else got the teriyaki steak. I got to try my husbands and man was that good! I got the aperol spritz since that was my drink of choice on this trip and that was made perfectly. The atmosphere is awesome too, especially if you read about the history of the building before you go. Views are amazing. Staff was very friendly. Now on to the journey. You take the funicular up to Sunnegga, make sure to stop to take pics of the Matterhorn! From there you go thru the tunnel for the kids ski school and take the elevator down. Once you're down you just walk straight along the rope that goes under the ski lift above. From there you will just follow that path. Be watchful on your way because this is ski run of sorts. You'll see the little village eventually where you'll walk thru and past the coolest wooden chalets and even some other restaurants. You'll eventually do a zig zag down a bit of a hill and then you'll walk the path at the bottom there until you cross a higher traffic ski run, so look out before you cross! You will eventually run into Chez Vrony right in front of you. To get back to the top, don't fret that you have to walk all the way back up. Walk just down from the restaurant a bit more and there is a lift that you can buy tickets for and it'll take you right back up! Make sure you have reservations before you go as this place books quickly and often doesn't have any openings for walk ups. I've heard occasionally they do, but you don't want to make that whole journey just to be turned away!

The view, the food, the view......be ready to search for the restaurant if traveling by foot. It is worth the journey and most enjoyable.

But, a summer skiing injury to my leg made it look like we weren't going to be able to get up to Findeln to try Chez Vrony.

Because we were a party of 3, we did not fit the number of chairs in the restaurant. She started to call 2 parties of 2 behind us. Since she's allowing parties of 2, I told her to just take my husband and my kid. I will not eat. After being the first to be seated in an empty 20 seats room, my husband and kid were served last. My husband said that she continued to be rude to them and other patrons. My kid said that his curry pork rice was the worst. The curry was clumpy and the rice was mushy. My husband said that his ramen was mediocre at best. The meat was dry and the noodles were clumped together. There are many other options at the Chamonix Village. There's no need to pay overpriced mediocre food and be treated badly. Definitely skip Tanpopo.

Although I can't agree with a previous review stating it was the "best ramen I've ever had," we enjoyed a tasty and comforting Japanese meal. They were not able to make maki rolls so we ordered the wakami seaweed salad as a starter that was nice and light. For entrees, we ordered the Tanpopo complet beef curry with boiled egg and a miso ramen bata with added spicy white sesame oil. One side note: I liked the kick of the spicy oil, but since that particular ramen comes with butter, it felt a bit too oily. My recommendation is to only add spicy oil to ramen that doesn't come with butter :) I felt that both the curry and ramen dishes needed some salt. Luckily, this was easily remedied by a couple shakes of the salt shaker. Overall, we enjoyed our first lunch in Chamonix!
