Well, here I am, once again reviewing a gem of a restaurant. I'm hoping to give traction to this fantastic Asian restaurant that sits in between some tough competitors. This small restaurant is located in the mall and specializes in making pan Asian meals. If you know anything about me, then you know I'm a picky eater, but this place defied my expectations. Well, I'll mention the elephant in the room. This pace is surrounded by other restaurants such as Burger Priest or Bella Italia. These establishments or very different from each other; however, you might be more inclined to eat at one of the many other restaurants. However, I assure you that Chi Street can hang with the best. It's also in a stellar location as when going to see a movie, much like I was when going to see No Time to Die, it provides quick service at a reasonable price while also being good food.
Let's get into the actual review. The restaurant has a very open design and works better this way as people can come and go as they please instead of waiting to be tended to. The menu is in various locations, such as on a TV, A sign, and crouches located right next to the register. The staff is friendly, and I was even approached by one of the workers to see if I needed help with ordering something (once again, picky eater, so I stood in front of the menu for a while). After deciding what I wanted, I decided I wanted a Bao Buns Fried Chicken with Jasmine Rice. It was affordable, only spending £8.50. Since the sitting was open, I could sit anywhere, and I promptly waited on my meal.
It probably took all of around six minutes for my meal to be prepared and brought to me. The Bao Buns Fried Chicken looked yummy; however, the jasmine rice looked a little dry. Because of this, I decided to dive into the Bao Bun first. That first bite took my taste buds on a journey. The vegetables, sauce, and chicken all worked in tandem to give it a rich flavor. I really want to compliment the chicken, which is some of the softest chicken I have EVER had the pleasure of eating. The Bun itself was buttery and soft, which gave the meal itself this taste that I have never had before. I wish I had ordered two instead of one! The jasmine rice left a lot to be desired. I get that jasmine rice has a particular taste; however, it was dry and almost hard in places. I'm not saying it wasn't good, but if I were ever to eat, here again, I wouldn't be choosing this on my menu of things to eat. Once I was done, I washed it down with some water and can say I was thoroughly satisfied with my meal.
Hopefully, this review was good enough for the average person to read and resonate too. I also hope that Chi Street Food can get more traction now that you have your first Yelp review. That's all I have to say for now and until next time! read more
