This place supplies a lot of beauty shops so it sells a lot of stuff in bulk - much of which I have no idea the purpose of. It seems to me that women now need to have some type of experience as a painter and decorator to get ready for a night out. I mean, the process of doing your nails even baffles me. Some sort of primer/undercoat followed by a few coats of nail polish followed by some type of aftercoat?! (should that be overcoat?). I have no idea. What I do know is that the staff in here are friendly, as I was in one day picking up a bottle of some nail varnish (don't ask) which I thought was called opee-eye. Obviously, being unfamiliar with all this non-combatant war paint, I had no idea and just assumed it was the latest brand to launch. Turns out it had been around for a while and it's called OPI. This is the place that supplies salons with products you can't get in Boots. I'd say if any female visitors to Belfast (or groups of them) decide to take the short trip from the city centre for a spot of shopping in Boucher (see my Boucher Crescent retail park review) then they should take a quick trek round here. It's just a few hundred yards from Boucher retail park, which is about 5 minute walk (or four hours in those stilts that women affectionately call 'heels'). Had to give it four stars. I'm not a fan personally, but it does deserve four stars.

Sallys has everything you could possibly need for a home grooming session, all under one roof and at very good prices. Nail supplies, including all the professional standard stuff you need to apply gel and acrylic nails so you and a friend could do each others nails and save a fortune on salon prices. The same goes for all things hair related. Tints, dyes, shampoos, conditioners and treatments. Also brushes and hairdryers, all salon quality. I got my last hair dryer there and it's great - light, very long lead and dries my hair super quick. Considering that the one before that came from Argos for £50 and was a pile of pants, I am very pleased. I think perhaps that in theory the cashier is meant to ask for your trade card, but I have never been asked. But then I am so glam that I could easily be mistaken for a beautician or hairdresser. In my dreams.

Carrickfergus now has two branches of this little shop, World of Colour (I believe there is another…read moreone in Ballyclare too) - they have a great selection of makeup, nail polish, toiletries and perfumes. They also have useful hints and tips on the shelves, stating whether this product is a good replacement for well known, more expensive brands. I got the W7 concealer which is better than Touche Eclat, and less than half the price! They also sell my favorite brand of foundation for £2 cheaper than anywhere else. To top it off the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and they also offer a loyalty scheme.

They sell a range of brand name products for a great discount price. They also sell lots of brand perfume as well as imitation ones which smell exactly like the real deal. Brands include; Benefit, Clarins, Nivea etc. Your basic make up ranges all at discount price, great! I could spend all day in here smelling all the pretty scents and testing out all the samples of make up but I would probably end up looking like some nut job from a loony bin, so I'll resist and call in every now and again.

A lovely gal helped me find my go-to thing from Lush - Ultrabalm, a 3 ingredient miracle cream that keeps chapped and dry skin a away. She also introduced me to these great chapsticks that doubled up as a lippy - loved that the ingredient list included strawberry and two shades looked good on my skin, so I was sold. Then when I went to pay, I got a free sample of a face soap (score!). I'm also checking out lush stores from wherever I travel as b/c the goods are made locally, esp with Ultrabalm, I can notice a difference in the beeswax used. It is a chain store, but this shop in Belfast is the only one in Northern Ireland, with the next nearest Lush situated in Dublin. I'm such a huge fan, that I just had to review it. No-one in Northern Ireland seems to have heard of Lush outside of Belfast, and I think it deserves more recognition. I absolutely love it for its amazing variety of toiletries, gifts and little treats. Naturally, I have used, and bought, a great many of Lushes products, mainly due to the fact they are so incredibly good for your skin, and there aren't any hidden nasties to watch out for. My skin is very sensitive, and I once had an awful ordeal with a face mask which left me red, itchy and embarrassed...never again! A particularly favourite product, which has come thoroughly recommended to me, is 'Cupcake', which I got my sister for her birthday. It's a chocolate face-mask, which literally smells and looks good enough to eat, and she absolutely loves it. It has worked wonders on her oily skin, and freshened up her complexion no end. Girls, you will love Lush. There is a small selection of products for guys too, so they needn't feel left out. What more could you want?!

I have been coming here now on and off over a year or so. The main and only reason has been, to use there fantastic sunbeds. There are 2 lie down and 2 stand up ones available, so usually no wait. I had however decided to treat myself to some nails so I pre booked the appointment last week to ensure I got a time that suits. I always found the girls a little bit Stand offish previously but after today it was a completely different story. Once I got chatting to them, they where fantastic and I really enjoyed the chat. I felt very at home and relaxed. I opted for Acrylic extentions and asked for them not to be too long as it's been a while since last having them. I am really happy with the finished result and to be honest and am quite picky when it comes to my nails. Interested now to see how they last so will update on that in a couple of weeks! Good points- The salon feels spacious and open with beautiful decor. Lots of choices of nail colours on offer. Great girls and brilliant craic. They also have a good range of beauty and skin care treatments on offer at fairly reasonable prices. Bad points-One of my pet hates about any personal service though is not being introduced! I could not tell you the name of the girl that did my nails because she didn't tell me her name. Usually with most beauty salons a tea/coffee is usually offered which wasn't. There is a flight of stairs into the salon so it would not suit someone who is wheelchair bound or struggles with stairs. I have however already booked my next appointment as I was so happy with my nails and the overall experience.

No, seriously. When I want to get my hair cut I ask for Sarah's recommendations. I instantly know by her reaction when I suggest a salon I have heard is good whether I'm going to come out looking like a toddler has hacked my hair off or whether I'm going to come out with some sleek locks and a new favourite hairdressers. She is a regular at Partner's, so trusting her good judgement I made an appointment with them recently. I got a wash cut and blowdry with Natalie, who I would recommend. She wasn't afraid to spend some time perfecting my cut and making sure there wasn't a hair out of place. A tad on the pricey side, it will set you back £35 to for a wash cut and blowdry with a junior stylist and £43 with one of the top guys. If you're after a colour, it's £55 for a junior stylist or £58 for a senior stylist. The interior is sleek and modern and the hair stylists will happily chat to you about what you want done and give you some top aftercare tips. According to my housemate, anyone who has problems taming their hair should go to Martin for a really good blow dry- "He's not afraid to really pull the brush through your hair and straighten it out". The hairdressers also provide spa and beauty treatments, so if you feel you really deserve some pampering why not treat yourself to a massge with prices ranging from £25-50.

It's definately a great place to go for a bit of pampering especially as they offer treatments like massages. Yay!! I haven't had the pleasure of this yet but if the rest of the place is something to go by I'm sure they are fab! Prices are a little higher than some place but girls (and fella's) can you really put a price on a great haircut? Is it worth copping out and going for the cheaper cut all the while holding the chair/magazine white knuckled and terrified of the end result...surely an extra fiver is great for piece of mind? Highly reccommend this place!!
