They set up a large green screen and some stools in front for people to sit. They can sit up to four people at one time, depending on the song to be recorded. These people are then covered with a green drape to make them invisible from the head down. Only their dancing heads show up, sitting on pre-recorded, cartoon-like bodies and background on the video. Your guests each get to take home a DVD of their performance (great party favor). And you, the host gets a master copy with all of your guests on it (great memory). When hiring a company like this, the attendants are very important. They need to be friendly and have fun with the crowd. Amy and AJ were great.

Unreliable, inconsiderate, and grossly lacking in professionalism…read more I sought out Uplyte back in September 2010 to do the lighting for my wedding in April 2011. An estimate was drawn up and we established a plan to meet two months later in late November to do a demo of the lighting at my wedding venue. Now keep in mind that I'm from San Francisco, CA and the wedding in Florida is a destination wedding so I am not local and can only fly out a few times. We meet in November only for Uplyte to tell me on the day of the supposed demo that they can't do the demo because they have another event and have no lights to show. Since we intended to come out one more time, we were flexible and figured we'd catch them on the next go round. So in early January, we set up a meeting time for February 21st to do the demo again. Uplyte waited until Thursday the 17th (1 day before we were slated to fly out to Florida) to inform us that they are not open on Presidents day, even though we had made the appointment for the 21st back in early January and they knew we were flying out for our last vendor visit. So on two occasions we flew out to Florida (5+ hour flight) and they canceled with little or no notice. It's now less than two months before the wedding, wish us luck in finding a new lighting company for our event. We didn't get so much as an apology from this company and I have to say I haven't experienced this level of unprofessionalism ever. I guess doing your homework seven months early doesn't really payoff all the time. Hope this helps the next person/business - Cheers!
