The View Restaurant is located within the Colony West Golf Course main building. The parking is free and plentiful as well as being next door to the Fairfield Inn Hotel. The restaurant is golf casual as it is mainly used daily by the golfing community. The food is elevated bar food with a variety of sandwiches and salads along with daily specials. The view of the golf course is very nice and the interior is pretty with the dark wood and light wall colors. The recent renovation and rebuilding on this property has made it very nice. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday from 10am to 9pm unless it is booked for a private function which I would suggest calling ahead. Try the "Hold my Beer" wings. Our lunch group met here and we were a group of 8. It was my first time here and it's located in the Colony West Golf Club. It was just our group ( who had reservations) and 2 other tables of 2. So a total 12 at tables and no one at the bar. We were greeted warmly and chatted while the server got us drinks. We waited about 20 mins for them to take our orders. It's a pretty basic menu. Very golf Club food. 2 people got veggie omelets, 2 people got salads, 2 got tempura shrimp tacos, I got the quesadilla (light on the onion and pepper please I asked) and the last was a turkey club. We were never checked on again after we placed our orders. We were all just talking when we realized we had been waiting ONE and 1/2 HOURS for our food. We were ravenous! And thirsty! Finally the food came out - very oddly. Plates came out 2 at a time in random order, making it awkward to have someone have a cold salad, while my quesadilla was hot. So we all sat there not sure whether to eat or not. M The omelettes came out the very last . The omelettes were said to be delicious. My quesadilla ( asked for light on onions and peppers) was stuffed with pepper's and onions with a few chunks of chicken. Wet and greasy and very unappetizing. It came with a side of salsa , sour cream and KETCHUP????? Personally I would never go back there again. The wait alone was completely unacceptable and the food did not warrant the time wasted. There was no comment from the staff about the delay in the food , and that they were never in the room except to walk around the sides. If they are unable to take care of 12 patrons for lunch, I can only wonder how long they will be able to stay open. read more

Topped with two large onions rings but I also ordered onion rings as the side dish. They are fried extra crispy. Saved room for the Fried Oreo Sundae, which was delicious and hit the spot again. Others ordered Lentil Soup, Champ Burger, Buffalo Wings, View Asian Salad. Sadly, the Fried Green Tomatoes are no longer available. Prices are very reasonable. This is my new favorite brunch spot in the Coral Springs/Margate/ Tamarac/North Lauderdale area. I've been here twice. The food is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. The ambiance is always calm, even outside near the green. The server has been very friendly and accommodating. Staying next door at the Fairfield and was informed when checking in that we would get a 10% discount dining here. Arrived just after 630pm on a Saturday night, only 2 tables had diners. I sat myself and server approached with menu and took drink order. I ordered the potstickers & noona's chicken masala. Potstickers were tightly packed with filling, the sauce a tad too sweet for my liking. Chicken masala looked amazing when served, and I like my food aggressively seasoned, but I don't believe this was anyone's Noona's recipe as it was sooooo salty. There is no way the chef tasted as they went or this surely would not have been served. Restaurant music was really loud, maybe up louder that usual because of the private event upstairs which was a touch rowdy. Staff didn't seem to know of the discount either. This place is such a hidden gem! I almost don't want to write a review about it. I stayed at the hotel next door and decide to give this place a try for lunch. The price is amazing for the quality. They could easily charge more. Service was top tier. My server, Renee was so sweet. She was accommodating and gave great recommendations. The bar tender made thee best lemon drop martini. I arrived at 3:00 pm, even though the restaurant only had a handful of guests, I sat at the bar. The bartender, Zack, was counting his drawer. I ordered a chicken katsu with French Fries. When I inquired of size of the fried informed me that they were not thin, but not thick. When I inquired a bottle, Zack gave me the info. He definitely knew his food and alcohol! The Chicken Katsu was thick, loaded!! The fries were tasty, except for a few bad ones. Due to the change of shifts, Zack presented me with my check. Otherwise, I would have asked for an after dinner drink with a dessert. Oh well! Yet, Zack could have asked about the meal and if I would like something else. The relief bartender was kind enough to provide me with a glass if water, when asked. In regard to the atmosphere, the view of the golf course was very calming. read more

We were four for dinner before a show. Two ordered snapper but were told that the snapper was reserved for a party upstairs so we ordered chicken Marsala, instead. The others in our party ordered salmon. The chicken arrived and was very salty but barely edible. One order of salmon arrived and the dinner was so salty that it was completely inedible. The second order of salmon never arrived until it was time for us to leave. The manager took the salmon off our bill without offering any additional compensation but neglected to notify the waitress so the waitress had to search for the manager to verify. The hungry member of our party politely complained to the manager who had an attitude and did not even apologize. When she did come over, water was brought to the table and then no one came back to take an order for more than 10 minutes. 3 people ordered the chicken pot pie. Order taker came back to the table and said there is no more chicken pot pie. Right then, we should have left. All 5 then ordered burgers. We asked for 2 to be medium to well done. I have been there several times and enjoyed myself. Two weeks ago I met a reservation for 14 for dinner Saturday night. I called to see if I could bring a birthday cake. I was told that would be fine also. When I called to say we would be 15 minutes early. I was told the restaurant was closed. Yes instead of calling me to say the restaurant would be closed or my reservation was no good. No one said a word I had 14 people with no place to eat no reservation. We did find another restaurant which will be my favorite from now on, I will never come to the view again. read more

The floors, when walking in, were all sticky, the area where the outside Tables were - there was trash and cigarette butts. The table was not wiped from previous use & the Tray that held the salt & pepper was filthy. The service - Polite - but SLOW. The Food: Turkey was good BUT the Roasted Brussell sprouts were charred - burned - cldn't even taste they were Brussell sprouts - I told the Server that they never should have put them on the plate...she agreed. The lettuce in the salad was wilted. This was THANKSGIVING! We asked to take the dessert to go.....I didn't realize until we got home that the Server put Ice Cream on the Apple Pie!!! - on a TO GO order.......well, it was Apple Soup when I got home!!! The old Colony West nothing fancy but good. Salsa was horrible. The spring rolls were not spring rolls. The were Egg rolls. Sauce was good. If you are going to serve egg rolls call them that. Customers don't like surprises. I believe I could make a few adjustments and make meals more palatable and interesting and I am no chef. This place has just been renovated too to bottom and is beautiful! The happy hour is pretty good. They have delicious appetizers and great drink items. Pleasantly surprised!! This place always pops up on Yelp when I'm in Tamarac. Today, I finally decided to go. The restaurant is located on the golf course. There's ample parking out front and the location has been recently remodeled. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a modern tone. It's was clean and has a nice view of the golf course. There's outside seating too. There's a nice full service bar where you can sit as well. They have a pretty good happy hour. Drinks were $6 and there was a number of appetizer options for a very reasonable price. I started with the Old Fashioned. It was good and $6. For appetizers, we shared the plantains stuffed with pulled pork. I felt the plantains were a little hard, but it was still good. We also had the Rueben Sliders. For dinner, I had the chicken pesto sandwich with fries. My daughter had the churrasco steak and the son-in-law had the Philly cheesesteak. Everything was good. For dessert, we shared the molten lava cake which was heated to perfection. The service was exceptional! Our server was a young kid (didn't catch his name) and he was fabulous. The team at The View Colony West have got it together, they're the total fine dining package and their story has just begun. I love Moscow Mules and theirs is the best, the ginger beer is amazing. We started with the calamari which was great and the soup de jour was lentils, my wife's favorite. For diner I had the filet minion which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the short rib. What the heck happened?? My husband and I were so happy when this place FINALLY opened. We used to go every other week or so for dinner and sit outside. It was good food and good service. We went one evening in January and it had slipped significantly- both the quality of the food and the service. There was one waitress who was completely indifferent to the few tables who were seated. After we flagged her down, it took a good 45 minutes to get our order, with no silverware. BUT- again "the view" was great so we chalked it up to an off night. Last weekend I took 2 friends to lunch there. The same disinterested waitress was "working". It took a good 45 minutes to get waited on. Coffee was ice cold. Over an hour later and no sign of our food, we got up to leave. The waitress said the cook was "slammed". With what? No one was there! The assistant manager offered 2 free lunches if we return. The lettuce was wilted and brown and the dressing was awful. Should've been a lemon vinaigrette, clearly artificial, lemon flavoring when there are plenty of real lemons in Florida to squeeze. we waited more than 15 minutes for our check. May 2020, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful renovated, very modern looking interior and great bar. The staff here could not be any nicer. They also have outside tables, that overlook the golf course if you don't want to side inside. They have a great menu and Happy Hour Menu from 4pm-7pm, too bad I missed the Happy Hour. I ended ordering Fried Chicken Strips (3) that was fresh and not bad tasting. I think next time I need to order something more healthier, guess I was just starving. Anyway, I would definitely come back here again. I really came to play golf, and we ended up on the Glades Course (1 STAR) which is really not that well kept, not like the Championship Course which I heard is really nice and well kept.
