My boyfriend and I come here all the time! It is honestly one of our favorite places that we have ever been. I have always loved popcorn, and have tried the flavored popcorn from other places before. I was not too impressed with said other places. Other companies have popcorn that has an artificial taste to it, but Chicagoland has never disappointed. They make their popcorn with fresh ingredients, which really makes it taste like the flavor it is meant to be. Another great aspect about their popcorn is that it stays fresh for a long time. Sometimes I will forget about the bags for a few weeks and it still tastes the same as the day I bought! I love how patient the staff is here. They will gladly let you try whatever you want. Some of the staff will even suggest flavor combinations to you. The last time I came in, John and Caleb were working. The two of them have worked there ever since we started going months ago. They are always so friendly, and are clearly interested in the lives of their customers. We have also met one of the owners, Dwayne, before. You can tell that he has pride in what he does, which I think is wonderful. A lot of company owners do not care as much as these people do. He also is always going to events where they sell popcorn. I love the owners go out and interact with the community at these events. Purdue Northwest Crunch (I feel like a traitor because I go to Indiana University Northwest!) is a great mix of Take 5's, white chocolate, and pretzels. My favorite is Chile Lime, while my boyfriend's is Creamy Cucumber and Dill. The Movie Butter is also tasty; it is a perfect mix of what I want from a movie theater. read more

Ok - Ist off, I'm comparing to Garrett's, which for me is the best. Great customer service. Always important. We got the Chicago mix. (Cheese & caramel mix) Texture & crunch were good & the cheese was good. The caramel was crunchy but more just a sweet taste vs the darker caramel taste of Garret's. read more

Your experience will be in the hands of who's attending you. The best way to go about the experience is to choose ten flavors you'd really like. Anything more than that, and the attendants become frustrated, make scowling faces, or the like. That being said, the popcorn is in fact very good! My favorite is cheesy sriracha. read more

This place is great! It's just across the street from Albanese Candy Factory, and fairly new... I think it opened in 2014. Why I like this place: 1) Free samples of their products. They have over 100 flavors to try... They have all been unique and delicious 2) Friendly owner and staff 3) Simplicity of walking in, see the big tubs of popcorn, try the popcorn, buy the popcorn This is a great place to bring someone from "out of town" if you are local to the area. I heard about this place so I decided to check it out while I was out Christmas shopping. I have to say I was disappointed. I ordered their Chicagoland mix (cheese and caramel)mini. Which I felt was a bit over priced at $7. The popcorn had no cheese flavoring and the caramel was to sweet. Maybe I got a bad batch so I will give them another shot hoping that was the case. read more

My husband and I stopped by this place, located right across the street from the Albanese candy factory. The staff was so friendly and nice, was offered so many samples, I went with the Hot white cheddar, hubby got spicy caramel cheese. Delicious! Very cool popcorn place! Popcorn of all kinds of flavors and they let you try before you buy. The staff there was very nice as well. We came down to Merrillville to go to the candy company across the street and being the huge popcorn freak that I am saw the popcorn signs outside of their store and had to stop. We had more fun here than the candy place. The guys and gals working the counter were very friendly and fun. They let us try flavors and were very patient as we made our decisions (peanut butter chocolate is my fav). Dwayne, the owner, was there chatting with customers and making us all laugh. It was such a fun atmosphere - jokes were flying, popcorn was eaten, everyone smiling. I am a "purist" when it comes to popcorn - usually just a good movie theater popcorn and I'm happy, but I really enjoyed trying different flavors. We saw this after leaving albanese. My husband is the big popcorn lover so we had to check it out. They have 250 flavors in plastic tubs with lids. They have different size bags starting with mini and going up to the size of a toddler. They allow you to try as many as you want to find the flavors you like. You can also combine flavors like the hot Cheeto popcorn with cheddar popcorn. They have sweet, regular, hot, cheddar, and unusual like BBQ and spicy dill pickle. There is something for everyone. We came away with spicy taco, hot Cheetos mixed with cheddar, blue cheese, dill pickle, Indiana mix. If you like popcorn you won't be disappointed. read more

Disclaimer - the popcorn is good (and pricey). However, I had hoped for a little better customer service based on the reviews. We went in (3 people) and they gave us the entry speech about how many flavors they had, please try whatever you want, etc. After the 3rd flavor sample, the sweet attitude was replaced by banging the bins around, slamming the bin on the counter, giving 2 pieces for 3 people. We sampled about 8 different varities between 3 people which I did not think was outlandish. We did purchase and enjoyed the storefront, just thought the customer service could have been a little more engaging. read more

Absolutely delicious!!! We stopped by during a recent weekend trip because we all love popcorn and we couldn't resist the 250 flavors. We were so glad we did! We got a bag of the Bubble Gum, Rainbow, Banana with Pina colada and Coconut flavor. All were delicious and the kernels were few. I read one other review that stated that the flavor was faint. I'm here to tell you, the flavor was GREAT! I would even say probably the best tasting flavored popcorn we've ever had, and we've had a lot. We will for sure be back to buy more. We had our first experience at Chicagoland Popcorn today. Let me say, it's the first of many future visits to come! Of course the kids absolutely loved sampling all the candied flavors, but they also enjoyed some of the more unique ones. They have 120 flavors ready and waiting for you to try and don't forget to take home multiple bags of your favorites. We chose the mini bags so there was more room in the budget for a variety of flavors. The staff was more than accommodating, super friendly and we had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. She's very dedicated to making your experience, especially if it's your first, the absolute best! I very much so recommend the tasteful experience to all! read more

Reminds me of Garrett's but still not them, though amazing in there own flavors ranging from grape to parmigiano garlic.. seasoned just enough to get that extra flavor on the finger tips. Prices are a little up there but we don't eat 3 pounds of popcorn a night so it lasts. read more
