It reminds me of a gorgeous lake front park in Toronto, lots of wildlife and trees, some nice deck lookouts and spots to sit and take a rest or just sit and listen to the birds. I also did a photo shoot here in the fall, the pictures were gorgeous. I come here whenever I can, and when the weather is good.

Also I would take an umbrella because after a little while I. Sunny days, it can be uncomfortable and make it hard to enjoy the experience. They rent paddle boards too which was pretty fun and I may do that again. Overall it's a good place and I'll definitely go back there again.

We ended up on the eastern end of the beach. The sand is quite nice around there. I saw some people had a volleyball net set up and once you comb the same for rocks and branches it was perfect for volleyball. The day we went was really windy so playing would be somewhat difficult. In the middle of the beach there's a rocky section which had more litter then other areas. I saw a family picking up some litter to keep the 'park' as clean as possible. I also saw some rock gardens previous beachcombers had created including a cluster in inukshuks that mimicked the city scape behind it. Close to the main entrance to the beach (the carved out stairs) there is a really nice sandy beach. The sand is quite fine grain that it packs hard but is still really nice on the feet. It's also raised from the river but it's closest to the construction dam that allowed this beach to exist. Now regarding the water... the rivers edge appeared to be clean and the water was quite nice but I've heard without a lot of rain recently there could be some unappealing bacteria in the water. There was a section of still water that had come off the river and it definitely had an odor that told you not to go there.

I understand restrictions but the resort is designed for people who live there full-time. The ones with full hook ups and built in decks. And if that's what you want this is beautiful. But if you just want a weekend getaway this may not be what you are looking for. There is only one bathroom facility and currently with the cleaning schedule we found there were times it was not accessible. And despite having facilities in my trailer I still prefer to use the provided ones. The resort also advertised trails and they were a joke at least for someone who wanted to go for a real walk. I was also very unimpressed with the check in process. I tried to take advantage of a deal on firewood but they processed my credit card too quickly - it just felt not friendly. Not like the oh so many RV resorts I've been to in the past. I tried something different when I went again- maybe you should too?

This place is so serene and peaceful. So romantic, I have newly discovered this place because of someone I recently met who appreciates little things like nature and serenity. The place is so beautiful I can't help but get in a lovey dovey mood whenever I'm here. It's so quiet and it's the perfect place for a quiet evening with a date or loved one. Sometimes we have the entire park to ourselves and don't see any humans for hours. And that is just PERFECT! It's a hidden gem, so close to the city of st albert and even a closer drive from edmonton. There are some beautiful paths along the lake for romantic walks at sunset. You could easily spend an hour or two here and forget how life can get get so crazy. A perfect way to slow down and spend time with someone on a intimate level or just to enjoy the beautiful scenery on you're own. Either way. This place is my new to go date place, and I just love going here. My other half got me hooked on this place and we have been going three times a week. A perfect place for a picnic or a drink or a walk. And luckily if u run out of food and have the munchies. The greenhouse is across the street for a perfect glass of wine or snack to end the perfect night out. It's those little things that make you appreciate nature and all its beauty. This place is captivating and I can't help but fall in love here!

LOVE love LOVE Grandin Pond…read more There are walking and bike trails that curve around the pond. Plenty of spots for great photo ops in the summer and even Winter! A few platforms to go out on the pond a bit. The city puts fish in here, too! So fish away! You don't even realize you're in the city when visiting this pond on the West and North end. My kids always love stopping here on our bike rides around town to take in the beauty and quack like a duck!

This is a small pond located not far from the Mill Woods Library and Mill Woods Town Centre Mall…read more It is often referred to as "Hidden Pond" as you can't see it from the roads in the area. It is also a great little park and recreation area for the Continuing Care Centre and the condos in the area. The pond is about 5 meters deep and is a man made pond. If you are into geocaching there are 2 geocaches located in and around the park. There are also about a dozen more within easy walking distance of it. The pond has a few concrete viewing platforms to bird watch from and there is a paved trail around the park making it very accessible for people with mobility challenges. If you work or live in the area you should really check this place out. A great place to go for a walk or have lunch or just enjoy a nice quiet walk. If you want to check out a great little hidden park and pond in the City this is a great one!

I love Heritage Lake Park. We've biked and walked here more times than I can count…read more The main lake is pretty close by if you want to go down the hill and go for a stroll as well. My chitlins have loved this park for years because the bigger kid section is decent and then there is a toddler section separated by a sidewalk as well. My littlest one loves that the toddler section has monkey bars that he can reach and I must say this park helped him perfect the skill that he can now easily use on big kid parks and monkey bars. There's a variety of equipment ranging from three side by side slides and swings. The structure itself is mostly wood so something to be aware of and I recommend barefoot play. The park itself has lots of open green area for a nap in the sun, frisbee, or a picnic. Shade is limited here as well as seating so I like to bring a blanket. Be seeing you soon Heritage Lake Park!
