This is the largest spray park I've ever been too. There are always a lot of people there, but it hasn't been over crowded. Everything is clean and well taken care of as well. The parking lot is large and is very accommodating. There is a dry park just passed the spray park as well for kids to go play in while they are there as well. A definite must if you live in spruce grove or even the west side of Edmonton.

Rundle Park has the largest and most well-used disc golf course in Edmonton, and is home to Edmonton's disc golf league. For those that aren't familiar with disc golf, it's similar to traditional golf, in that you start at a tee, but the goal is to throw discs into baskets instead of hitting balls into holes. Disc golf has ramped up popularity since Covid restrictions were introduced, as it's an easy outdoor sport that has no green fees and allows for social distancing. I've played the course at Rundle many times and I still find it challenging. Some of the holes are fairly long, and have hazards like water or hills to keep you on your toes. Compared to the other courses I have played, Rundle could do a better job with signage to help players find the next hole, as some of the holes criss-cross each other a bit. The bathrooms in the family centre are open daily, and there are plenty of parking spots. Aside from disc golf, Rundle is huge. I've attended 5k races here, and they easily can stay within the park. There are playgrounds, and numerous picnic sites. On a recent Sunday, the park was full of people setting up makeshift picnic sites in the grass, and all the city-run picnic spots were fully of families. I will note that the mini-golf is no longer open, even though there are a few painted signs remaining in the park. Rundle is a wonderful place in the city to spend time with family and friends, and a perfect picnic destination.

LOVE me some Rundle Park…read more When I first moved to Canada, from Seattle, 14 years ago our townhouse was across the street. Now, the area is a bit rough but that's not Rundle Park's fault. The park itself is MASSIVE and contains the ACT pool, the clubhouse you can rent out for parties, paddle boats, lots of trails, views/access to river valley, and tennis courts open to the public for free. Not to mention the bumpy roller coaster feel of the road that will abuse your car but is oh so fun for bike riding. It's build on the old city dump so that's why the ground bubbles up all over the place! There's a golf course here though I've never had the pleasure. They also have outdoor mini golf but I've never tried that either. They also set up huge bails of hay here in the winter along the fence lines for awesome and relatively safe tobogganing! It also has a bigger kid side so there is something for everyone. It's also a park friendly to disability's with some special equipment for that. Last time I came they were also in the middle of building a spray park there so next summer when it's done, or this summer perhaps? It's going to be awesome! This park also has a big hill for winter adventures or for summer rolling and running. They have a mini pathway for bikes or pretend play too. The spray park is a great size and is far enough from the playground that it is not full of sand. There is not a lot of trees which means not a lot of shade. I recommend bringing your own shade or getting there early to set up under a tree. A quick 10 min drive from Sherwood Park makes it a great free summer destination to take the kids.

It was built a few years ago to fill in an empty concrete pad, and I think it's a fantastic improvement, both for gardeners and the public. Unlike other community gardens, which are designed with just the gardeners in mind, Peace Garden Park was intended to be a public park as well. There are a few benches, and a nice little fountain in the middle (it's not always running because it recycles water and sometimes runs dry between rainfalls). As a gardener, it's great to have this space so close to my apartment. I got a pretty good haul this year (despite a little theft, both human and not). It's super accessible and affordable ($20/yr for OCL members, and they have raised beds for people with mobility issues), although there is a lengthy waiting list.

This Stony Plain Rotary Spray Park is party of the Economic Action Plan which has given money to many communities to help improve community facilities. This spray park opened in 2012 according to the website: http://www.stonyplain.com/Town-Hall/Departments/Community-Services/Sports-and-Recreation/Stony-Plain-Rotary-Spray-Park.htm The park also features a new playground with rubber floor - oh how I love rubber floors at a spray park. Sand just makes a STICKY mess at spray parks. There are 2 outhouses by the ball fields and indoor washrooms what I was allowed to use without question at the accompanying Stony Plain Outdoor Pool. The ice cream truck popped by and there are lots of picnic tables with loads of shade. The water features are activated by buttons located throughout the spray park. There are numerous water features great for all ages including the piano you may be familiar with at the Castledowns spray park (if you are from Edmonton) and spinning features kids can interact with. This park is top notch for a smaller community and just as the website notes, I look forward to seeing what items are added upon and improved in the future. Families should be aware that there are no staff on site and there isn't a snack shack so bring some snacks and drinks or a picnic to make a day of it! We were there in the middle of the day and there were also quite a few mosquitos swarming me in the shade. Two big thumbs up Stony Plain - I will definitely be back!

Some holes are doubled up, so note that the higher number holes take priority shooting the basket. There are bathroom and water facilities. Bench seats and some picnic tables. Trees areas and open green space in the centre of the course. Watch for cyclists who aren't respecting pedestrians. Parking seems good so far for evening rounds. Holes are generally Par 3 and accessible to all levels of players.
