There's a long list of reasons why Ralph's Fried Chicken is hands down the best fried chicken I've…read moreever had. First of all--the name. My dad's name is Ralph, so I already had a soft spot. But the moment you walk in and see the slogan, "Crispy on the outside, happiness on the inside!", you know you're in for something special. Clever--and absolutely true. The staff is exceptionally warm and hospitable, making you feel genuinely welcome, and the restaurant itself is spotless. Now for the food... every order is made fresh and brought to you by hand. The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with generously sized pieces that are cooked to perfection. And then there are the taters--next level. Skin-on, so you know they're fresh, perfectly seasoned, and somehow creamy and buttery inside, like mashed potatoes in disguise. The gravy is the ideal companion for both the chicken and the taters: rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Last but definitely not least, the coleslaw is spot-on--creamy yet crunchy, with a great balance of flavor. If I could give Ralph's Fried Chicken six stars, I would. Drumstick, Wing, Tender Piece, and Bone-in Thigh. OR All Tender offerings are also available. Tossed with any flavour of your choice or Sauce on the Side. Sauce wise we highly recommend the Garlic Soy, Golden Kari, Gochujang Caramel,Gochujang Garlic Soy, and the Sweet BBQ. Most of these are heat tossed and something about how the sauce sticks to that buttermilk flour egg battered and fried golden crispy coating makes them divine. Sides wise we enjoyed the salads- both the Kale Caesar Salad ($8) and the Black Sesame Slaw ($7) were delightful. We also quite liked the Sweet Butter Cukes ($4/$6).

Chicken For You's name came up, and they were close-ish to my place, so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm glad I did. The chicken is fresh, crunchy batter, and MUCH tastier than The Colonel's stuff. The pieces of chicken are physically bigger too. I had fries with mine, and whatever they do with the fries, they should keep it up. They're crispy too. Prices are better than the other place too. Next time I get some, I'll have to remember to phone the order in, and then go to pick it up to take a look at my new favourite chicken place.

Such a hidden gem and they are located near NAIT, the owners were also nice to chat with. Definitely one of my go to place for Korean Fried Chicken on the Northside. They have been sold out before 4pm so this was happy to get an order on Thursday afternoon and they sold out after I ordered! I ordered a full spicy chicken and a half order of snow cheese chicken. Both came piping hot out of the deep fryer. It does take about 15-20 min to cook but the wait is worth the freshness! They are awesome and let you sit in your car parked and bring out your order when its done. But the smell was tantalizing. It looks like a local korean family owned truck and looks authentic and legit. And it is! I saw 3 customers all korean. So that is a very good sign. After 430 the line builds up quickly so try to get here early. The spicy chicken is crispy with a yummy kick. It isn't that typical spicy gooey goughang mess but it still has some spice to it. It's a dry spicy chicken with a light flaky coating which isn't at all heavy like other Korean fried chicken. Pleasures of eating fried chicken without the guilt!!! I liked the snow cheese as well. It was very flavourful. But those fries are really delicious. They coat them in the snow cheese and herbs and they are so delicious tasty and addictive. I'm not a big French fry person but these were light, crispy and soooo tasty. Glad to see a new joint open up with healthier fried chicken options in this city!

The taste and quality of the chicken tasted exactly like the first time I tried them; nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. This place has been my go to for Korean Fried Chicken since they opened in March on the Southside in the parking lot of the Wash Factory. They recently relocated to the Northside on 96th Street and 153rd Avenue in the parking lot of the Ukrainian Youth Unity Complex and I couldn't be more excited; it literally is less than a 5 minute drive from my place! It's great that it's closer to me now, but I think it's dangerous as I may visit more often! Lol!

Eat & Dip October…read more15, 2021 was National Shawarma Day! @eatanddip celebrated the day with a promo, 2 large shawarma for $11.95. Of course I ordered 2 large chicken shawarma wraps and while I was there, I decided to get the Koo-Doo Chicken with fries and pop as well. The chicken shawarma was cooked and seasoned well. It was served on a pita with garlic sauce, mayo cabbage, slices of lemon, pickles, and pomegranate sauce. It had the right amount of veggies and sauce and all the flavours complimented each other. The Koo-Doo Chicken was okay for me. I honestly didn't think there was enough chicken, but there was lots of fillers, green peppers, mushrooms, lettuce and pickles. The drive home for me from the restaurant was a short drive, but by the time I got home, it got real soggy in the center. Not sure if the fries was prepared and cut inhouse, but they were fried to a nice crisp exterior and the seasoning was so good! Overall, my favourite was the chicken shawarma wrap and I'd definitely come back for more of it!

Both donair and falafel are very underwhelming , the 2 orders of 3 wraps and a side order of onion rings took over 15 minutes to "cook" and it was still cold after a 2 minute commute. The donair meat was cold like it had been just pulled from a Tupperware container while the onion rings that sat for 5 minutes in a paper bag were soggy before we even left the store. The falafel, most likely cooked from a previous batch was dried out and cool to the touch in the the touch inside the wrap when I bit into it. No semblance of it being fresh. Been there for a year supposedly, tried it once but won't be back. Laziza (3 minute drive) leagues better.
