Most tourists will never take the time to even notice this beautiful church. It sits on the banks of the Tiber River (Lungotevere) close to the Palace of Justice. The interior is quite lovely. The high altar is in polychrome marble and gilded bronze. It has a large, modern fresco of the Sacred Heart being adored by the host of heaven (it is not very good). The floor has a striking herringbone design, in pink and light grey. The pink marble is from Verona. read more
