Our daughter has been going to the Ribbon street location since a year now. We love the facility, teachers and Alina's leadership. She got adjusted to the day care very quickly. Teacher Carol and Lana are very caring. She also gets delicious, healthy organic warm meals every day. Our daughter loves it here and will mention to be dropped off to the day care even over the weekends. They have amazing toys that get rotated everytime. The facility is so clean and tidy everytime. Our daughter has hardly fallen sick, perhaps cuz they keep it so clean. Their educational programs are also great. She gets to have fun, there's art, theatre, learning, music, dancing. So much fun! Also, great value for money compared to other home based or bigger day cares. They also celebrate important festivals, birthdays, and give presents to kids on fun days, birthdays and Christmas. Also, unlike other day cares, the teachers and management is fuss free. They are very mature, understanding, and dont call you to pick up the child over silly things. We can't believe we got so lucky finding Alina for our 15 month old son in October 2020, especially with COVID bringing my family back to Foster City unexpectedly. Under her care and guidance, we see him become more confident and independent over the past 3 years. There are many examples of why Chikitos was a great fit for us, and here are a few that come to mind: She gave us consistent progress updates, both prompted and unprompted. We really valued this because as first time parents, we weren't sure what to look for or expect. She made sure she addressed every concern, and asked how he's doing at home to follow up with the current challenge (eg sleep and potty training!) we are working on. She provided structure to his day, and recently incorporated a weekly planner for parents to access. There is a mix of outdoor play and learning, especially with the addition of Mrs. Natalia in the past 2 years. Her background as a child educator was critical in developing age-appropriate curriculum and activities, which he really embraced. We were so impressed with his progress when he started to bring home a 3 ring binder filled with his worksheets and crafts, and it was added weekly. Through the HiMama app, I'm able to follow his daily activities, mealtime, bathroom schedule and nap time. His sister also joined at 13 months in February, and is grouped with the younger kids for learning. She had a harder time adjusting, in the beginning, but Alina made sure she felt safe and comfortable in her new environment. In the mornings now, she automatically runs to put her shoes on and says "A-ina!" We have zero hesitation recommending Chikitos, and will miss them incredibly as we are moving. My son spent a year at Alina's daycare before being pulled out purely due to COVID. We were incredibly sad to leave as he had such a great time there. We've been to a few daycares prior to Chikito's and what impresses me is the amount of structure Alina is able to provide. The daycare is always immaculate and my son somehow never came back with any stains on his clothes. He also rarely got sick (definitely an amazing feat for any child in daycare). We got daily updates on his schedule through the app, right down to when he woke up from his nap. The food is organic and healthy. There's zero screen time for the kids. Alina really seems to be an expert in child development and provides appropriate and helpful lessons for toddlers. She never seems to get frustrated or annoyed with the kids, and always has an encouraging or kind word! She is gentle and compassionate with the children and is always available to address any concerns. Our daughter has been going to Chikitos daycare for about a year. Alina, her mother, and Violet are very reliable and organized, and take great care of the kids. Alina has put a lot of thought into the kids' daily activities as well as the set up of the space and backyard, which are perfect for toddlers' development. If your looking for a day care provider that will help you little on get ready for pre-school Chikitos is where you want be. Alina patient, understanding and very passionate of the kids she take care of. Chikitos Daycare is simply the best daycare that I could possibly want for my child. The kids are treated with love and care, and parents' concerns, requests and wishes are taken into consideration as well. I really appreciate that it is truly a partnership between all those involved into my child's life, because, if a child spends somewhere so many hours a day at a daycare it is important to have an honest and open dialogue with the provider. My toddler was always greeted warmly upon arrival, offered breakfast and interesting activities to make the separation easier. I know the rest of the day was filled with arts, games, dancing, singing and playing out in the yard. Home-made meals including fresh fruit and other delicious treats, celebrations of special occasions and birthdays, cutest little sleeping pods... So many great things it is hard to count. One important thing is attention to hygiene. You would think it is a given at a childcare facility, but after experiences with other daycares in the area I realized it is not. So when I picked up my kiddo from Chikitos looking clean and healthy day after day I knew this was a safe environment for my child. We loved having our youngest go to Alina's daycare! Alina is the owner and she is very energetic and has a nice welcoming demeanor every morning and evening. Alina is very careful when it comes to the safety of the children. She watches them very carefully and logs everything down for us to see in the app/email that she sends to us at the end of the day. Our daughter was under the care of Alina and her family for over two years (22months-4yo). After much research and several site visits, both at centers and family childcare homes, we knew this was the best fit for our family. When my son turned two I started to search and visit daycare places. As soon as I met Alina and entered their place, I knew that this was the place! Very clean and neat, welcoming and comfortable for kids, they had a great atmosphere. Alina and her mom (she helps with kids and cooks healthy and delicious food for them) are very nice people, my son loves them. I never worried about my son, he was well taken care of at Chikitos. He speaks Russian, but at Alina's place there are both English and Russian speaking kids, so he kept both languages, and learned songs and rhymes and preschool materials in both languages. I couldn't think of a better place for my son, we had to relocate to a different city, otherwise we would still be at Chikitos. Alina and her team took care of both of my kids since they were 1 year old from 2016 to 2019. We loved that she's so caring and loving that makes you feel like family. My youngest son was born about the same time as hers and they basically grew together. I was amazed to see how many new things they learned everyday and to read the daily reports/pictures she sent. This was last year, when we started looking for a daycare for our (then 15 month old) daughter and Alina's Chikito's day care was the first one we visited. And everyone, my wife, my mother and myself were perhaps already convinced to send our angel here, even before our final conversations ended. Over the next few days, we did visit a few more daycares - after all we all relish the paradox of choice this society offers - but we quickly compared those to our meeting with Alina who effortlessly made us feel that our little world will be well taken care of. Still, as a final step, we asked Alina if we could speak with few other parents of kids she currently has or had had, and she gave us contacts of two parents both of whom said more positive things about Alina and the growth their kids experienced with her. Chikitos is small little (in a cute and cosy way) owner-run day care which is exactly what we liked about it. Our daughter - who turns two in a week - has shown some sort of exponential growth in her vocabulary, expression, sentence formation and best of all, developing her personality, lol. She now makes liberal use of words like thank you, sorry, "share please" and sometimes is even able to form 4 to 5 word sentences. Of course, the fact that she is growing helps, but it has to be the stimulation that she gets surrounded by other kids and the activities Alina does with them that's helping her big time! Alina uses a software/app called HiMaama that allows us to see our daughter's daily activities, meals, nap time and even diaper change times. Weather permitting, she often takes kids to the park or the library and routinely posts their pictures in that App. What a lovely feeling it is that you're drained in something at work, the app beeps and you get to see the picture of your little world doing something like, coloring or dancing or eating cup cakes. We sent our daughter to Chikito for about 3 years starting from when she was about 11 months old. We have had a wonderful experience with Chikito! Chikito is a very well kept and spacious place for kids, with a yard for outside play time. Alina and her team at Chikito are very kind and patient interacting with kids. Alina dealt with all the tantrums of our daughter as she grew from an infant to a toddler without ever complaining. When we left our daughter at Chikito in the morning, we always had the full confidence that Alina will take care of our daughter so well that we didn't have to worry about our daughter anytime. She is very meticulous in documenting the activities, feeding schedule, etc. everyday and sending out a report at end of the day so we always knew how our daughter was doing. Alina was also very flexible in accommodating our schedule right from accommodating into her daily schedule with older kids our daughter's nap and feeding times as an infant to varying drop-off and pick-up times based on our work commitments. Alina engages the kids in various activities to build analytical and reasoning skills in them. She does a lot of research and kept bringing new play items and activities to teach various concepts to kids. Alina engages the kids in appropriate projects for every occasion such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc. Our daughter loved these projects and has accumulated a wall full of such projects over the last 3 years. She used to send out pictures of our daughter engaged in various activities which over the last 3 years has formed a nice timeline for our daughter.
