Great service and excellent food. The prices are right and the menu is well put together. They were empty when we got there, I guess not many people know about them yet. Definitely a hidden gem in Texarkana. Small, quaint, local and delicious. If you are in this part of town, you are limited with mostly fast food options. Our first time here. It was mid-afternoon so there was no waiting, only a couple tables occupied. I ordered Al Pastor Quesadilla at the suggestion of the very friendly waitress. It was on the lunch menu. My wife had the Chili Relleno with Beef. Everything was hot and delicious! The chips were served with a mild salsa and a black bean dip. The salsa was too mild for our liking. The portions were large enough that we didn't want any dessert so I can't say anything about them. We will definitely be back! read more

Spent a total of 64.31 of Chilango's food on waitr. $4.99 for kids meals wasn't badly priced but the portion was just terrible. I ordered 2 carne asadas knowing it's pricey however this was the driest meat I ever had. I got one scoop of beans and a scoop of rice. Being pregnant after eating that I an still very hungry. I didn't mind the price of the food just upset I spent so much for some beef jerky and a kids portion of sides. read more

There was only 1 waitress working and she amazing! Took great care of us. It was our first time eating here, the food was amazing. The salsa and chips tasted so good to! The only downfall I had was the cheese I got on the side for my fajitas tasted a little weird. But I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Tex mex like I do! read more

I wanted menudo so we decided to stop in since it said on the website they serve that dish. As soon as we walked in, I made sure to ask if they had menudo (TWICE) in which she assured me they do. So we sat down and got our drinks. When the server asked what we would like to order I told her I wanted menudo for my order. When the food was brought to our table it was just one dish so we asked for the menudo in which the other waiter said they ran out. Wish I'd knew that beforehand. read more

I ordered a combo plate from this restaurant with door dash delivery, the food was awful. The burritos and enchiladas were so tiny I thought that they didn't give me all of my food, the meat that they topped my food with tasted like it came out of a can. It was greasy with absolutely no flavor and I get authentic Mexican all the time and that tamale looked like it came out of a Hormel can. I'm new to Texas this was the first restaurant I tried and I was very disappointed!! I ordered my son a kids pizza with french fries and the pizza looks like it was frozen. My family and I went to this resturant for my mother's birthday. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We were seated immediately, which normally would be fine but we had barely sat down when our waiter wanted our drink order. My younger brother wanted Root Beer, he was told they did not serve root beer, even though it was written on the menu. An over site, perhaps. We ordered Dr. Pepper, A Diet Coke, and two waters. I used their bathroom and there was water pretty much all around the toilet like it had been leaking. We got our chips and salsa, the salsa was watery but edible. They also gave us a small black bean dip that I thought was actually pretty tasty, considering. A bit disappointing but hey, salsa is made differently everywhere. We started looking over the menu, and finally ordered: My father ordered a steak, ham and bacon burrito thing. He said it definitely had chicken and another meat he couldn't decipher. He was the only one to eat his whole plate. He came home and was almost immediately sick. My mother ordered this shrimp thing. It looked like it was supposed to be Shrimp, Jalapeño, and what I assume was bacon with a sauce on top. When it came out it looked nice. It was not. Her order was cold, it was also over cooked. It was supposed to have peppers in it but it did not. She tried to eat as much as she could but she was not impressed at all. My brother ordered a simple small rice. He ate about half of it. He said it was fine but just spice and nothing else. If he hadn't had chips to go along with the rice, it would have been bland. I ordered Bean and Cheese Nachos. I assumed that it would be either that Black Bean dip or Refried beans (it was the latter) and melted cheese on top. I assumed that it would be mostly Beans. I was wrong, it was mostly Cheese, it was fine but it didn't have any real flavor. It was just bland. I assumed that it would be soggy since it was Nachos, it's unavoidable but it was cold like my plate had gotten done before the others and was left out. For 41 dollars, I don't think this place was worth it. We had heard good things about it. I don't know if it was because we were the first dinner guests of the night or if it was just an off night for the staff. Not to be rude but i honestly would give this resturant a 1 1/2 stars if I could. I think the staff should mainly focus on slowing down and try to make sure their product is something they would eat. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to Chilango's. You May think that we have enough Mexican food places in Texarkana, but I have found each restaurant to be unique with its own salsa and chip styles, and their specialties. Chilangos is the closest thing I have had to real Mexican food near the border, on either side. I had chicken mole, which is not available just everywhere. It was served with plantains, also a rare find. I am going to order the chili relleno next time we go, which will be soon! read more
