They are not an amusement park, but they provide monthly free rides on their track around the park. (they ask for donations, if you can afford a few bucks, they are non-profit organization, and all the money donated goes for track maintenance). They add great value to the park, and the city of Chula Vista is lucky to have them here. Their brochure says "Public rides second full weekend of each month, September-labor day weekend, from noon till 2-30pm. They, also, organize private rides for birthday parties. We went there last month, and today. (Will come again and be reserving a train birthday party in November for my kid). A bunch of friendly people of all ages, smiling, answering questions about their 1:8 scale trains and their club. It was very nice to see young club members helping at the station to load and unload the passengers. There are steam , gas and electric engines of different types. Some members made their own steam locomotives from scratch, using original plans! Wow!

Kids were asking him when the next train ride was & a dad ask too, he ignored it took off then half way on his solo ride he picked up some people that were not in line & he knew & ignored the line waiting for him. Ok cool what ever, he went around 3 times with them he made eye contact with us all 3 times. At these times he could of told us that was the final ride but never did. So we waited bout 30 min, why 30 min? Well the train is slow & he dropped them off before the line then talked to them for about 10 min hugged them then took his sweet time to get on then he drove by us only to tell us "That's it folks", his ass made us wait bout 30 min saw us 3 times & never told us the people he picked up that were not in the line was his final ride! That was a punk move & me & another dad were mad. Very unprofessional & rude he was lucky the other dad didn't chase him down & confront him because he wanted too but I told him it ain't worth it (that guy should thank me the angry dad was big) & he saw the kids & checked himself. That lost, slow worker needs to learn how to communicate & be better at his job. 3 times he went by us knowing it was the last ride (to his friends he knew & were not in line) & never said anything bout being the last ride & took his time after he dropped them off to come & just drive by us to say "That's all folks". Many kids waiting were upset waiting for 30 min, all this lost worker had to do was tell us "Last ride" when he picked them up & drove by us! Hellen Keller can communicate better then this guy. The only good thing is I saved the $5 I was gonna donate. Next time homie you see people in line & you know your on your last ride tell them don't make them wait as you make 3 turns by them, the train is slow enough to tell us you ain't on a jet bro you on a slow very slow train. I won't be going back I rather have Stevie Wonder drive me on a train then go there.

I think at the time, 2003 or so, I was a sophomore and I was catching up on those community service hours (on top of it, I know). I remember I had to do a lot of trash pick up and cleaning up graffiti. Aside from that, in these last couple of years, I frequent the recreation center to play basketball (indoor). Their basket ball gym is so cool! First of all, its air conditioned. Second, they always music playing. And, finally, they have a total of 6 hoops. Two main ones and two on each side. However, sometimes they might have only a few down. It just depends. There's definitely regulars here who come in the afternoon to play five on five. Te best times to come are usually the first three hours after its opened. Its dead during the first couple of hours. Honestly, I love this place to shoot around, practice, relax and get away for a bit from everything. The following information below derives entirely and directly from the Chula Vista web site under recreation services. Built in 2000, the Otay Recreation Center includes a gymnasium, game room, patio, and a fitness center. The programs offered at the Otay Recreation Center accommodates a wide array of participants, ranging from toddlers to youth to senior citizens. The center contains a wide-spectrum of activities as well. The fitness center, which requires a membership, contains a variety of state-of-the-art equipment, including cardio machines, free weights, and weight lifting machines. The game room is open during our normal hours of operation for drop in play and consists of pool tables, foosball tables, a ping-pong table, and more. The gymnasium is available for open recreational play each night, for more information on the schedule, please calls the center or click on the link above. The Otay Recreation Center also offers a wide variety of recreational classes. These classes consist of many preschool classes, Ready, Set, Learn, Bumble Bee Sports, Apples to Zebras, Ballet, and more. Other classes offered at the center include, ballet, zumba and belly dancing. The gymnasium, game room, classroom, and patio are available for rentals. I came in alone and was a little nervous, but from the moment I walked in, Maddie made me feel completely welcome, accepted, and at ease. She was patient, kind, encouraging, and stayed by my side throughout the entire experience. By the end, it truly felt like I had come shopping with a friend instead of by myself. She helped me find the perfect dress, and I was so grateful to get an incredible deal. Knowing that my purchase was also supporting a good cause made the experience even more meaningful. Thank you, Maddie, for making such a special milestone in my life one I'll never forget. Your kindness and compassion meant more than you know. I think the appointment time should be two hours long, I only got to shop for dresses once and the rest of the time my mom and my MOH just kept bringing me dresses. It was a very rushed process and it was very busy and I don't feel like the dressing rooms. Are that big and should definitely be bigger. Also, there were two men in the dressing room when I first got there and was trying on dresses and one guy was standing right across from my dressing room, and I felt very uncomfortable with him standing there as I was half naked behind the curtain and my girls kept bringing me dresses in and out so obviously the curtain had to be opened a lot, and it was just very nerve-racking that a guy was in there. The men need to stay away, including Dad's! Just my opinion. If a guy wants to come with his bride to pick dresses like this guy seem to be then they need to like stay inside the dressing room with her not be out in the middle of the whole dressing area. Other than that, I will say they had a lot of options to choose from lots of different styles lots of different sizes and I definitely found my dress, but I still felt rushed and kind of wish. I didn't rush so much and had a chance to look at more.

Wendy takes such a personal approach to taking care of my girl. She's not just baby sitting but she's always challenging the kids with fun learning activities and lessons. My daughter loves going to Casa de Tots! We have such an awesome relationship, we feel like family. I also love that Wendy is so passionate about her work.
