They are not an amusement park, but they provide monthly free rides on their track around the park. (they ask for donations, if you can afford a few bucks, they are non-profit organization, and all the money donated goes for track maintenance). They add great value to the park, and the city of Chula Vista is lucky to have them here. Their brochure says "Public rides second full weekend of each month, September-labor day weekend, from noon till 2-30pm. They, also, organize private rides for birthday parties. We went there last month, and today. (Will come again and be reserving a train birthday party in November for my kid). A bunch of friendly people of all ages, smiling, answering questions about their 1:8 scale trains and their club. It was very nice to see young club members helping at the station to load and unload the passengers. There are steam , gas and electric engines of different types. Some members made their own steam locomotives from scratch, using original plans! Wow!

Ridiculous! We got here September 2nd on a Sunday some young skinny guy was running the train he…read morelook lost first of all, more lost then Stevie Wonder in a dark room! Kids were asking him when the next train ride was & a dad ask too, he ignored it took off then half way on his solo ride he picked up some people that were not in line & he knew & ignored the line waiting for him. Ok cool what ever, he went around 3 times with them he made eye contact with us all 3 times. At these times he could of told us that was the final ride but never did. So we waited bout 30 min, why 30 min? Well the train is slow & he dropped them off before the line then talked to them for about 10 min hugged them then took his sweet time to get on then he drove by us only to tell us "That's it folks", his ass made us wait bout 30 min saw us 3 times & never told us the people he picked up that were not in the line was his final ride! That was a punk move & me & another dad were mad. Very unprofessional & rude he was lucky the other dad didn't chase him down & confront him because he wanted too but I told him it ain't worth it (that guy should thank me the angry dad was big) & he saw the kids & checked himself. That lost, slow worker needs to learn how to communicate & be better at his job. 3 times he went by us knowing it was the last ride (to his friends he knew & were not in line) & never said anything bout being the last ride & took his time after he dropped them off to come & just drive by us to say "That's all folks". Many kids waiting were upset waiting for 30 min, all this lost worker had to do was tell us "Last ride" when he picked them up & drove by us! Hellen Keller can communicate better then this guy. The only good thing is I saved the $5 I was gonna donate. Next time homie you see people in line & you know your on your last ride tell them don't make them wait as you make 3 turns by them, the train is slow enough to tell us you ain't on a jet bro you on a slow very slow train. I won't be going back I rather have Stevie Wonder drive me on a train then go there.

While the venue appears a bit older, if does seem to be well maintained overall. They also have a good size weights/fitness area, something I haven't seen, or better, than in the few other Chula Vista rec centers I've been to.

I think at the time, 2003 or so, I was a sophomore and I was catching up on those community service hours (on top of it, I know). I remember I had to do a lot of trash pick up and cleaning up graffiti. Aside from that, in these last couple of years, I frequent the recreation center to play basketball (indoor). Their basket ball gym is so cool! First of all, its air conditioned. Second, they always music playing. And, finally, they have a total of 6 hoops. Two main ones and two on each side. However, sometimes they might have only a few down. It just depends. There's definitely regulars here who come in the afternoon to play five on five. Te best times to come are usually the first three hours after its opened. Its dead during the first couple of hours. Honestly, I love this place to shoot around, practice, relax and get away for a bit from everything. The following information below derives entirely and directly from the Chula Vista web site under recreation services. While some were out of my budget or would have required alterations I wasn't willing to do, I ended up finding the perfect dress--already my size, needing little to no alterations, and within my budget. We were honestly amazed. I also really appreciated that they offer to hold a dress for a short period of time (either a few hours or up to a day). When you're making a big purchase decision--especially since the dresses are final sale--it's refreshing and reassuring to see a business that encourages you not to rush. It felt honest and thoughtful, not like they were just trying to make a quick sale. The only downside was the fitting room lighting. It isn't very flattering and doesn't show well on camera, which makes it hard if you're FaceTiming family or friends for a second opinion. I'd recommend stepping toward the front of the store near the window for better lighting. As a suggestion to the store, improving the fitting room lighting would make a huge difference and would also allow customers to feel more comfortable without having to walk to the front of the shop or be visible from outside. Overall, though, it was truly a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this store.
