Our toddler started at the school in August 2025 and he has LOVED it. Not only has he been safe, nurtured, and loved - he has also learned and developed a great deal and has made many new friends. His ability to maintain concentration, complete tasks independently, and verbalize thoughts and emotions has grown leaps and bounds. Indeed, Foothill Montessori is not just a daycare for toddlers and infants - the curriculum and staff provide schooling and learning just like they do for any other age group. I can't say enough good things about my son's Teachers (called "Guides"). Their respect for each child and their ability to teach and manage toddlers - all while maintaining utmost safety within the classroom - is second to none! The curriculum also includes a fantastic music program (which our little guy adores), as well as specific emotional / social development teaching by a dedicated (and amazing) staff-person. Not only have the education and experiences been great for our little guy, but the setting itself is nothing short of pristine. Most other schools (and especially daycares) are slightly dingy and also noisy. Not Foothill Montessori. The building is beautiful, light-filled, and extremely well-maintained. And it's shockingly quiet when you walk the halls. The Teachers / Guides are clearly super-engaged and cultivating an environment that keeps the youngsters' attentions. Most important, the entire staff knows and cares for each and every child. The leadership team and front-office staff seem to know everyone's name. I've observed them greeting by name every single parent and child who enters the school - from infants all the way up to 6th graders. I love dropping our son off to school, as I've come to consider the staff as good friends. And we've also been able to connect with fellow parents and enjoy playdates with other children. In addition to our toddler, we will be enrolling our infant daughter in a few months. All this to say -- I can't recommend Foothill Montessori enough and would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Apparently my nephew has been getting bullied by two students, one which has demanded the toys of my nephew which now all but one have been returned. Now the teacher in charge is refusing to stop further bullying in light of the the bully's skin color. Now my nephew has been written up as a trouble maker in the situation and was said "He's being a pussy" by one of the educational staff. Is this the type of conflict resolution we should expect from this school? As an educator myself, I'd expect better out of people who are there to shape the minds of the future and be able to find creative ways of solving problems? If this school cannot stop child bullying, then why should we have confidence in their education abilities. If my nephew isn't being protected at Nibley Park Elementary, then can I enroll him in self defense?...Then what's the repercussions if there's an injury? Is that a school issue they'll deal with then or is my nephew in trouble for protecting himself when the school refuses? Supposedly Nibley Park Elementary has a zero bullying tolerance policy, but it seems to only be enforced when students skin color match. I'm not asking for any students to be removed or punished, but simply a teaching and learning experience for the students and teachers to resolve a conflict between people at their most vulnerable stages in life. These are children & they are being shaped by actions and inactions of their environment, so it would seem to be a opportunity for the school to step up as educators and solve a problem between small vulnerable people before it's a life long habit for the kids and educators. I will comeback to this post if the matter is resolved or the situation changes.

However, the bullying problem is OUT OF CONTROL and the teachers and faculty seem to foster this type of environment which is wild. They definitely do not cultivate a culture of treating others who are different from you with mutual respect and acceptance. It seems like they encourage in-groups and out-groups to form and if a student is not within the in-group then that child will face a tough time in school, while the teachers and faculty will dismiss that anything wrong is actually going on. If you care about your child's mental health, then STAY AWAY FROM CANYON RIM ACADEMY. Their academics are above average but it's not worth it.

We were fortunate enough to get into the school on their waiting list but are very happy we made the switch to CRA. No school is perfect, and the facilities could use some upgrading, but the staff is amazing, the teachers are happy and the kids are learning. The school also makes every effort to encourage thinking, problem solving and creative learning.
