After pre-school her reading was impressive but one month into Kindergarten it has taken off! They do a lot of learning through songs and it's fun listening to our daughter sing some of them when she's playing in her room or just doing her own thing. The teachers have all been there a long time and are very good at their jobs. She has made a lot of friends and even though some of her pre-school pals didn't return for Kindergarten we've stayed in touch with them and the parents have been good to get to know as well. Others have made assertions about the security. As a parent with a child enrolled I will say that security at the campus is fine. Only an idiot would publish their security details online but having had my child there for going on two full years I am happy with what they do. Also the police station is literally across the street. Not near by, across the street.

I even asked about this and their response was the police department is near by. Like that's going to deter crazy people. They refuse to secure their door. Other schools require you to be buzzed in. I'm not sure I will ever understand their reasoning as to not install a security door. This saddens me as I now have to send my child to a more safe school. It is very difficult if your child does not fit the "mold". Diversity isn't celebrating but rather discouraged. There is very little inclusivity if your child does not fit the box. Eastside does a wonderful job appreciating my son for his uniqueness while helping to inspire development. His teachers have always been extremely caring, communicative, and supportive. As an only child, he learned to share and deal with conflicts at Eastside. As he got a bit older, he learned to help the younger kids, something he still does with his younger cousins and friend's siblings. plus he made good friends. We still arrange get-togethers now that they are in 8th grade. Eastside was always excellent to work with, even that time my son filled all the toilets with paper towels. Shout out to Ms. Lacey!

On our second year of our…read morechild attending and couldn't be happier with the advanced curriculum, awesome faculty and the 'it takes a village' mentality. Friends with kids in public schools in Sandy and WJ are always surprised how 'advanced' the curriculum is however my child doesn't seem to be aware she's 'advanced' since it's what all kids are doing at her school. Surprised by how many non-Catholic families attend but understand since this school provides a nurturing and healthy environment for all kids, those parents don't seem to mind the classes daily prayer and required school Mass their children attend every Wednesday. Loving, supportive and safe environment that provides a child an above public school education with focus on whole child, not just how to pass tests. What's not to love?
