They also feed healthy meals that are organic and my son always enjoys the food. They do fun activities like having fire trucks visit the school, go on field trips and play outside every day! He came at nap time but they were great greeting him and then, giving him a space to transition. It was really great to have this smooth transition because we did it on a lunch break. My youngest is my shy one and had always had a hard time leaving me but when we arrived each morning, they always said his name and gave him a variety of choices. I honestly felt like they cared! The staff was great! If asked, they shared my boy's day and I always received art work to take home, which is fun to see when you are away from your babies all day! Also, I am a teacher myself so I think I automatically wanted to connect with the staff and they appreciated it. Elaine, the director, was always thinking of ways to improve the preschool and reaching out for resources. This was amazing because it showed she truly cared about the kids. I guess I am writing this review because A Child's Life has a special place in our family's heart. Which means that my daughter can be easily overwhelmed with outside stimulus and can require extra care and patience to work through things. We have made every attempt to communicate this with the AHA Daycare staff and the majority of them have been absolutely accommodating. However, the director who has been involved in childcare since day one has not been following the recommended program by a behavior specialist regarding my daughter's issues. This woman has been simply putting my daughter in a room to have her "temper tantrums" because she didn't like a three year old screaming. She has stated that my daughter "has no empathy" in regards to her outbursts. Furthermore, she has been informed that this is not an appropriate way to deal with my child but she continued to deal with her outbursts in this manner. The other day when I went to pick my daughter up I saw how this director Toni Petch handled my daughter on a daily basis. I walked up to the gate to the outside play area and could hear my daughter screaming and making a bunch of noise. She was obviously having a problem with something. Toni came towards my daughter and yelled at her to "stop it". My daughter became even more upset and began screaming even more. Toni then picked up my daughter and held her with my daughter hanging over Toni's arm screaming. I watched her walk away and my daughter hanging from Toni's arm facing me and began screaming for her father when she saw me. I opened the gate and watched Toni sit down with my daughter at the picnic table in their playground and restrain her by placing her arms around my daughter in a hug not letting her move. I then walked up to Toni and told her that "you know, it doesn't help her when you react like that to her outbursts". What followed next was absolutely unexpected. This woman began yelling at me about how my daughter was absolutely unmanageable and how this daycare had done everything they could to accommodate my daughter. I had kept a calm demeanor this entire time even after seeing how this person had basically manhandled my daughter during one of her outbursts. I encourage any of you looking to this place for childcare with a kid that requires extra care or following a behavior plan to consider somewhere else. I've already reported this daycare to the state and I will be leaving this review on every single avenue that I can. Not only did this person handle my daughter in an inappropriate way, this daycare neglected to tell myself or my wife about issues that involved my daughter. We never got a report at the end of the day about how my daughter had behaved until we heard about how my daughter had bit someone's kid. Apparently my daughter had been doing that for a while and they didn't even tell us about the first time! I am beyond appalled with this daycare and I regret ever bringing her there. The way that the director handled me telling her to not manhandle my child was ridiculous, and the fact that I had to stand there and get yelled at for calling her out on it was even more ridiculous. This daycare has been reported to the state and I have made an effort to make sure that the state knows that this Toni has been an absolutely terrible caregiver. Especially because she has done the exact opposite of what she has been told needed to happen to help my daughter process things. I would never recommend this place

I have been going to Bellingham Yoga Collective (BYC) for a few months now. I started with the 3…read moreweek pass for an introductory price. I took advantage and took 10 classes during this period. The space is on the 3rd floor of the recently remodeled Granary Building. There is nice bright lobby with reception desk that has been staffed I have been there. Check-in for class is pretty easy, there is an iPad on a stand where participants find their name and tap "check-in". A sign indicates what props will be needed for the class. Props are neatly stacked to the left after entering. The two bathrooms are always clean and are spacious. The yoga room is a simple hard wood space with windows to the north. I (male) have often been the only male in the class, but with the weather getting colder, the mix of participants has increased. I have enjoyed all the instructors, they are kind, helpful, and very good at leading classes. I have taken part in Gentle/Restorative, Hatha, and Vinyasa classes. The times work pretty well for me. There is usually a 7AM class, then 9:30AM, then noon. Those are the classes I have attended (my schedule has been flexible lately). Only once has my class been sold out, a Sunday AM Hatha class, 40 people fit in that room. I have had a number of teachers ask my name, that has been nice, adds a personal touch to attending classes. BYC has a lot of special events, too, I have not attended any, but it's good to know they are there when I am ready to give one a try.

They tell us to stop talking so much and hurry up, we say sorry and let him use the machine to avoid any trouble. They walks away and another person goes up to them and says I glad you said something they are taking too long. On another occasion, someone was rushing us off machines by standing and watching us workout. It was very awkward and I will not be going back!

While my daughter seemed to enjoy herself and spoke positively about the experience, the overall setup left me uneasy as a parent. Camp Kirby is located on a small island about 35 minutes from Bellingham. The setting is rustic and remote, and you have to drive very slowly down a long road to reach it. It's an unusual place, quiet and tucked away, but also far removed from anything else. The biggest issue for me was the lack of transparency and connection with the camp itself. Drop-off and pickup were tightly controlled: you wait in a long car line, staff approach your window, and then you're expected to drive off. There was no opportunity to meet the counselors, interact with other parents, or even glimpse the facilities. I asked nicely twice during the week if I could just see where my daughter was spending her day, and was told both times to email the director due to camper privacy. I understand wanting to protect kids, but other Camp Fire locations I've attended have found ways to balance privacy with openness. Here, I left every day with no idea what the camp looked like or what was going on inside. Communication was also minimal. Other camps send daily updates with photos and summaries. At Kirby we received one brief email and a photo album with a single blurry side photo of my daughter. I strongly recommend that Camp Kirby improve transparency by posting photos or videos of the grounds and facilities online. Even a virtual tour would go a long way toward helping parents understand where their kids will be all week. As it stands, I still have no idea what the space looks like. They offer one open house in the spring, but unless you live nearby, that's not realistic. The counselors seemed kind, though a little overwhelmed. And while my daughter's experience may have been positive, I genuinely don't know, because parents are kept completely at arm's length. I wouldn't recommend this camp unless you live nearby or already know someone with firsthand experience. They need to build more trust with parents and provide a clearer window into what's actually happening during the week.
