We've been part of the Children's Learning Place family for over 10 years, starting at the Lakeview location and moving to Logan Square when our oldest was just one. From day one, CLP Logan Square has felt like a second home. The care, consistency, and community have made parenting in the city so much easier. The staff is incredible. Every teacher and team member has shown our kids so much love, patience, and support. It gave us real peace of mind to know our children were not only safe but also thriving. They made friends, learned through play and structured activities, and participated in engaging specials like Spanish, music, and yoga. We also loved the occasional field trips that brought learning to life. The value is outstanding. Tuition is reasonable and includes meals, snacks, diapers, and formula. When we were expecting our first and touring multiple centers, this all-inclusive model made CLP the clear choice. It removed so much of the daily logistics and let us focus on just being parents. The extras really added up too. The Parent's Night Out program gave us time to recharge, and we appreciated being able to hire CLP staff for babysitting. It was comforting to have a network of familiar faces who knew our kids well and cared for them deeply. After a full decade with CLP, we are so grateful. Children's Learning Place Logan Square has been part of our family for 3 years. We have had both of our kids there from infant through the age of three. I'll admit I was reluctant to send our kids to a daycare center. CLP drastically changed my understanding of daycare. Each teacher has made my kids feel safe, loved, and happy. We love each of them more than I have words to express. They each keep their positive energy and creativity all day for our kids. We LOVE them so much! When I walk into CLP, I feel like I'm home. I cannot say enough good things about CLP - Logan Square. Finding a daycare that's a good fit for your child and is in line with your values can be a challenge. We got so lucky when we learned about CLP. Both my son and I had a really hard time with the transition in the beginning because change is hard, but the teachers and directors were all super supportive, gentle, and understanding. I appreciate the structured programming they offer. My son seems to really enjoy the enrichment activities such as yoga, music classes, kids fit, and Spanish class. Every one of his teacher's has been so lovely and easy to communicate with. CLP uses an app to share details about the child's day like when their diaper was changed, when they used the potty, what they ate, how much they ate, what they worked on, etc. They also share pictures and videos and that is truly my favorite part! What I love most though is the routine interactions with not just the teachers but the directors and other staff and wonderful families. Only a week or two ago our family left CLP after being there for 10 years!!! We have had anywhere from 1-3 kids at CLP the entire 10 years and they feel like family. The teachers care so much and the bonds created are amazing. My 10 year-old still sees the teacher that she ADORED (she used to cry at pick-up because she didn't want to leave the teacher when she was in the infant room) when we picked up her brother from pre-k this year.They have great field trips for "older" kids, fun events for families, the pre-k class taught each one of my kids such tremendous things. For example, we were playing "Twenty Question" as a family recently and my five year-old chose Madam C. J. Walker on his own as his person he made us guess after learning about her during either Black History Month or Women's History Month in his class. Amazing. Also, Parents' Night Out is THE BEST. There are so many great things to say about Children's Learning Place in Logan square. We have been part of the CLP family since my son was 4 months old (April 2018), he is now 4 1/2. From the staff, to curriculum, the meals provided, everything is wonderful. The directors Ms. Brittni , Mr. Alex and Ms. Shamika do a great job on keeping families informed of all important information. The teachers are also so great! Every single teacher my son has had has shown him so much love. They truly care about the tiny humans they care for everyday. The curriculum there is structured very much like real school. They even have several special enrichment activities such as kids fit, music, Spanish and even yoga! My son loves it all. My son also has a speech delay and they are so patient with understanding his words. This past year his speech has improved so much, kudos to the teachers in the parrots. They also have their own app where they give parents updates about the child's day. Includes times meals were given, potties breaks and nap time schedule. They even upload pictures and videos of the kids having fun. This is actually one of my favorite things about CLP. I love to see all the great things my son is doing and learning on a daily basis. This review may be a bit overdue as my daughter was at CLP from June 2016 thru April 2017 but I felt it necessary to write as her time at CLP was a great experience and I remember it fondly. I would also like to note that the reason we are no longer at CLP is because we moved out of the city and into the suburbs. Had we stayed in the area, my daughter and her brother who we've had since moving, would still be at CLP. I say this even with knowing about the infamous 'glue gun' incident that occurred in late 2017, as I don't ever feel that unfortunate actions of one employee should reflect on the organization as a whole. While at CLP the care, love, and attention that our daughter received in the Parrot room from Miss Christine, Miss Christina, Miss Veronica, Miss Dovie, and Miss Daisy was outstanding. When we would show up every morning with our daughter they would welcome us with big smiles, open arms, and the occasionally required extreme patience with our daughter when she didn't want mommy and daddy to leave and threw a fit. Something all the teachers offered which my wife and I now realize was very impressive (compared to our current suburban daycare) is that the teachers took the time to talk to every parent when they picked their child up to tell them about their day in detail. They didn't just say 'they were good' - they gave specifics of things the child did during the day and what milestones they were working on with each child. They all connected with the parents extremely well. The management staff at CLP also did an exceptional job of creating a 'family environment' of working WITH the parents as opposed to a 'corporate environment' of TELLING the parents how things were to be done. I feel this was due to Miss Madi's tutelage. Miss Madi is an organized yet exceedingly personable and understanding person who was an extreme pleasure to work with. All in all, our experience at CLP is one that we enjoyed, not just because of knowing that our daughter was safe, cared for and learning, but also because we felt that we were part of great group that we had a lot of fun being involved with. read more

Our son attended CLP in Logan Square for 2 years (started when he was 5 months old). We had a wonderful experience and were so happy with the care and education our son received. The teachers and staff are excellent at what they do and we were thrilled with how much our son learned in his two years. We were also very impressed with the way CLP navigated the pandemic and how thoughtful, safe, and communicative they were during a very challenging time. The only reason we left CLP was because we moved out of the city; it was one of the most bittersweet parts of our move! My son Max had his final day at CLP recently after about three years. Thankfully my daughter is still there with her friends. This is the thank you note I wrote. I hope it speaks for itself: Thank you all so much for the tremendously positive impact you have had in Max's life. I cannot begin to tell you how meaningful it was to drop Max off every morning knowing he was in good and loving hands. In a season filled with doubt and fear, we never doubted dropping Max off at CLP and always knew that what he would experience there was the opposite of fear. Over the last 18 months, we have heard much about heroes in the context of healthcare workers but not enough about heroes like you. I cannot imagine the difficulty of transitioning from parents wandering the halls to grab unmasked, crazy kids to having a strict routine on how to manage CLP safely. I apologize that Krista and I are particularly bad at registering for pickup and dropoff. Lord, we are bad at that. My son has been here since he was 4 months old, and now that this is his final summer at CLP (he will be going to Kindergarten in the fall), I figured I should write a review to express my gratitude. When I was a first time mom almost 6 years ago, I visited countless daycare centers: some corporate, some in homes, and many private daycares. By the third or forth, you have good sense of the place within 5 minutes of walking in. This place made me feel most comfortable, happy, and safe. It's bright, colorful, and most importantly admin and caregivers are all friendly. Following is what I like about CLP: -Admin and staff are easy to contact via phone and emails. The director, Ms. Madi, is amazing. She's organized and knows every child by the name in this center. -organic meals and snacks are offered daily (who has time to prep meals, pack and drop them off every morning??) -diapers and meals are included in tuition -enrichment classes included: yoga, Spanish, music, fitness, weekly field trips -fun family activities for Halloween and Holiday season -parents night out every Friday from 6:30-9:30 - kids get to enjoy dinner and a movie with friends -CLP now has parent board committee to strengthen the program Some daycares I visited charged daily fee for drop offs before 8:30 and pick up after 5:30. CLP's drop off starts at 7 and pick up ends at 6:30pm. No hidden fees. I will miss having my son here. He is a smart, confident, and creative child who is becoming a great reader and writer. My 13 month-old son has been attending CLP for about 10 months, ever since I went back to work. I could not be happier with the staff, location, facilities, and cost. The teachers clearly enjoy their work and are there because they have a passion for children, not just because it's a job. They're always doing enrichment activities with the kids, and often have events where parents are invited to see their kids "perform" or for parent teacher conferences. The facilities are clean, well organized, and colorful. Last but not least, they have an excellent "nanny"/sitter service where the teachers can be available outside of daycare hours/on the weekend. Several times, a teacher in my son's room has cared for him when my husband and I overlap on work trips or otherwise need to be away from home. Since my son spends so much time with her every week, I trusted her and so did my son. CLP is highly, highly recommended! read more

When our eldest son outgrew his beloved home daycare, we knew that he needed a preschool environment. A number of the home daycare parents recommended CLP (as we came to know it). We did a tour and got ourselves on the waiting list for a spot in a 2 years old program. Fortunately, our daycare had worked with him potty training. So he arrived at CLP already potty trained and ready for a school environment. Once we got the email/call that a spot opened up, we had our son do a few hours there adjusting to the classroom. Once he started there, he fit right in the environment easily. He got along with his classmates and teachers well. We loved hearing reports of how well he was doing there. The administrators also liked him a lot too especially his Packer gear and sushi shirts. CLP does a fantastic job of communicating to parents and families. Upon arrival there, we were emailed by the room parents about activities. We had our son's birthday party with his classmates too. I loved the level of communication between parents, kids, and families. When we moved out of the city, we were sad to leave CLP and hoped to find something similar in the suburbs for our son. I can't thank Miss Madi and her staff for the great experience our son had in their care. He made so many leaps and bounds educationally and socially. If you have a preschooler, send them to CLP for great care and education. read more

I absolutely love CLP -Logan Square! They really take their mission and vision to the next level. This is my first child, and upon visiting several neighborhood daycare's, this was the one. For me it was all about the atmosphere. When I let this little one out of my sight, will she be safe? Is this facility clean? Do the teacher's even like children or is this just a gig to pay the rent? We've all been there. I mean if the employees aren't happy, that speaks volumes...and I'm one of the people who feels like in the childcare industry employees need to be happy. Don't really need negative energy shaping the young minds. So for my fellow yelpers, I'm here to tell you like it is. The atmosphere is very inviting- bright and colorful, which is very engaging for the little one's, but who am I kidding above all else, this facility is CLEAN! The staff are friendly, and passionate about what they do, and most of all... they are helpful to the newbie parents. (just a quick shout out to all the infant teachers in the world...you guys are amazing...as if they'll see this...BUT they might) To be honest, while waiting to receive my tour, a teacher sold me on the place. Just your normal chit chat about curriculum (yes they incorporate sign language), turn over, CPR (ok, maybe none of those things really go together, but her answers were the real reason I enrolled). Her name is Ms. Olivia!!!! In fact, I haven't met one teacher or person in management that doesn't have a sense of humor/personality, so for me that was also a plus. My suggestion to you- go in, check it out, and if you don't like it (which, I highly doubt), continue looking until you find a place and suddenly you feel like a weight is lifted because you're so at ease....and again, I felt that way before my tour started. When you think of the precious deposit you're making each morning and how your expected ROI is met/exceeded at the end of the day..... CLP is worth it. That's what worked for me! read more

I am a first time mom of twins and I feel that there is such a learning curve that takes place in the first few months. I needed to find a place where my kids could go and I felt comfortable. I found CLP when my twins were 11 months old. They were currently going to another early learning facility but I knew that Children's Learning Place was going to be there new home after our tour. My 9 month old son has been at CLP in Logan Square since January. I can't say enough about the facilities, the staff, and the teachers in my son's classroom. The facilities are clean, new, and well kept. The staff and administrators are easy to work with, very friendly, and have incredible relationships with the kids. And I simply can't put into words how fortunate we are to have the teachers from our classroom. As first time parents their insight and help is invaluable. They put our son onto a regular sleep schedule, encouraged his physical development, helped us understand how to handle his changing diet, and care for him as if he was their own. We are truly indebted to them, and despite our attempts, we will never fully repay them. It is clear that this is not a job - they love what they're doing. Going into this experience, I was nervous about sending my child to daycare. I always presumed it was best for him to be home and with family. But CLP has completely changed my perspective. My son is thriving socially, physically, and emotionally. Having other children in the room who are crawling, walking, and talking clearly makes him follow in their footsteps. Plus, the curriculum includes things I could never teach my son (sign language, spanish, fun art projects). The parent teacher conferences show just how much the staff is monitoring his progress - it's very impressive. Lastly, the nanny/sitter service at CLP is fantastic. When our son is sick, or we simply decide to have a parents night out, they've always organized a qualified person to watch our son. His teachers often volunteer their time outside of class as well. This was an unexpected surprise that has made our lives much easier. I can honestly say that I'm happy to see my bank account debited each month by CLP. One of the best decisions I made! I went looking at so many daycare but have you very walk in a place and felt this is it! My son who is now 3 started a couple of months before he turned 2. He has change so much and growing with such confidence in doing things on his own and I give credit to CLP for that. My son comes home singing the different songs he learned even the ones in Spanish! The staff is very caring which is a plus. I love pictures so sending me a picture of what my son did during the day brightens my day/night. My son recognizes numbers, alphabets, shapes and colors and that is all due to CLP! read more

We were conflicted about daycare vs nanny but decided to give CLP a try since it's so close to our home. Overall, we are very satisfied with our experience. Our daughter started in the infant room and is getting ready to transition to the toddler room. The staff has been very caring and everyone seems to know our daughter. It's a great feeling to walk in and people can tell you about her day. As she has grown, her needs have as well. It's a wonderful facility and they have been so accommodating with her PT appointments. Even the teachers are helping us out with her exercises. We really love CLP and are so happy to have found a great daycare in our neighborhood. We shopped around quite a bit and had originally started our daughter at a 'fancier' daycare (you know where they teach mandarin to 2 years old) where we were very unimpressed with the care that we got there (but that is for a DIFFERENT yelp review.) We started our daughter part time at CLP logan square (at 18 mo old) and were so impressed that after several months we converted to full-time -- we have not looked back. We continue to be impressed by the quality of care and teachers in her classes (we've been in 2 different classes now as she's gotten older). They are great communicators and it is obvious that they are looking out for her best interests. They encourage her to learn at her own pace, to explore her emotions and use her creativity -- we are regularly surprised by the things that she comes home talking about and the understanding of language and interaction that she brings to her every day conversations. (I have heard myself say on quite a few surprised occasions - "Wow! She must have learned that at school." We have had our fair share of bites and bruises - these are toddlers after all - and Madi and the teachers have always been prompt with a phone call to let us know what happened, how she is feeling, and what they did to take care of her. (snuggles, an ice pack or a bandaid). For us best and most important thing of all she is that she is THRIVING there. IF i could change anything that would bump them up to 5 stars in my book it would be that I wish they had their own outdoor space. They have tons of great indoor space (especially with the play area in the newer wing), but they would be the most amazing place ever if there was a contained outdoor space. (I realize they can not control this.) As it is the young toddlers get to go outside in a big mega-stroller and then the older toddlers (over 2) practice and practice walking indoors on a handled rope and when they are ready, they do go for short, highly supervised, walks outside with the rope. read more

If you want your child to get hit & have a teacher that thinks it's no big deal, then this is the daycare for you. My two year old daughter was slapped in the face by a classmate during drop off time with my husband standing right next to her. When I picked her up the teacher stated that it has happened a few times by this same student. She never informed me of any incident, which really upsets me. I would have never known about this incident if my husband didn't witness it. I asked Madi for my full month of June back since I feel my daughter is not safe at this center. Madi is only going to give me half the month. This is a pure business, she doesn't care about the welfare of your child. If this was her child getting hit repeatedly she wouldn't stand for it. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money for the safety of your child. You have a choice of day cares in Chicago, and this is NOT a good choice. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't. read more

We moved our son from another daycare to CLP when he was a little over 2 years old and we've been really happy. The staff and teachers at CLP have been wonderful. It's a big daycare center but it has a very personal feel. Our son loves going to school every day. They do a lot of great activities like yoga, music and spanish, plus awesome field trips like the Shedd Aquarium. They also do things like school pictures, fundraisers for charities and special events for holidays like Christmas and Halloween. All in all, we are extremely happy with CLP and would highly recommend them! read more

CLP Logan Square is a Learning Academy, far from just a daycare. Both of our children were cared for on a personal level and looked forward to going here every day. The facility is extremely well run by the Director, Madi, and the Assistant Director, Brittni. Safety, Development, Care, and Communication are the consistent priority values now and during the 3 years our kids attended. There is a full curriculum including Art, Math, Reading, Science, Health, Yoga, Music, and emotional development. There's even a huge indoor playground, safe from the elements. They have field trips to Libraries, Museums, and Navy Pier. Movie Nights are perfect for a much needed date night. Many of the teachers often babysit and who better to trust than the teachers who already know and love your kids, but also have first aid, CPR, and food handling training, as well as annual background checks. You will also receive multiple pictures and updates on your children throughout the day on their app. Our kids were beyond prepared going into elementary school, with the necessary social and academic skills developed far ahead of most of their new Pre-K and Kindergarten classmates. Our kids' happiness, the memories, and friendships gained are bringing a tear to my eye as I write this review. This is such a happy and safe place for kids, we couldn't be happier. If you are deciding between a Nanny or Daycare, you owe it to your kids and their development to send them to CLP Logan Square. My son went here from 23 months old to almost 4. He made so many friends. The teachers and staff were so friendly and nice to him. It's was great to walk in the door and have everyone greet him with a "hi Q!." The place is very clean. They have many great enrichment programs (yoga, music) that's included in the tuition. The meals are included and were relatively health. No junk food or sugar. During Chrismas they have a big party for everyone with food and the Big Guy from the north pole. At preschool age they did have a good learning curriculum (writing letters, spelling his name, coloring, etc). We left because we enrolled him in a Catholic school, but I look back at fond memories of CLP. It was an enjoyable experience for us and I would recommend to others. read more

The center is clean, they have tons of room and options for kids, and most importantly the teachers are kind. I went in a few times to check out the center for my 1year old daughter to attend. After half a day of being there I couldn't take it any more. My daughter wouldnt stop crying if i left and would just sit by herself slumped over wimpering. She wanted nothing to do with the teachers or other kids if i wasn't there. Me having no patience for my daughter crying decided that I couldnt put her thru that for a minute more. I pulled her out of the daycare the very next morning. Now I expected to pay the enrollment fee, two weeks deposit and for the first week of day care. After all, she was enrolled, and it didn't work out because I couldn't stand to see my daughter cry, not because of the daycare itself. I talked with Madi and she worked to get me back my deposit and enrollment fee. She only charged me for the time my daughter was in the center. Wow. They obviously care about the kids and experience and not just about the business side of it. That really touched me, and I'll definitely be going back when my daughter (and I) are more ready for her to be in daycare. read more

After looking at several daycares in the area, we were referred to Children's Learning Place-Logan Square by some friends. Our 7-month old daughter has been attending CLP for 4 months and we are very happy. We actually drive a little out of the way to take her to CLP, but the experience has been so great that we wouldn't change that! Her teachers are very caring and invested in her growth & development. They have a lot of fun learning activities. The evening/weekend babysitting service is extremely helpful-knowing that our daughter can be watched by her teachers that already know her so well is very comforting. My daughter has been at CLP Logan Square for 3 months and love it! I used to have so much anxiety taking my baby to a daycare, but feel actually safe and secure knowing she's in great hands, has fun, and is developing at CLP - where they take standards seriously and provide excellent service. Great place for kids of teachers! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about CLP Logan Square. We received a recommendation about CLP from a family whose child attended the Wicker Park location around the corner from where we were living. They were full, but directed us to Logan Square-and we are so glad that they did! Our daughter started at 16 weeks, and the staff was nothing but caring and wonderful from the moment she arrived. Each day I dropped Charlotte off with Miss Melissa, Miss Anna, Miss Natasha, Miss Chantall and the rest of the Parrot classroom teacher, I knew she was going to be loved on and cared for - I never worried, and as a teacher myself, I was impressed with the intentionality of each activity and educational approaches used in class. I also loved the additional things that were offered, like Parents Night Out, a Mommy and Me Yoga class in celebration of Mother's Day, emails a few times a week on how my daughter was doing that day that often included pictures-many ways for me to feel connected to the things going on for the majority of my daughter's day. Additionally, while the cost of Childcare in general was a little more than I expected, from my research and visits to other places, I felt that their pricing was very fair for the level of care, hours, and things included (diapers, wipes, etc.). They also offered a teacher discount, and had we stayed in Chicago, they would have held our spot over summer break without us having to pay. Unfortunately, we were only able to spend three months with the wonderful folks at CLP, as my husband got a job closer to family, so we decided to relocate. That being said, during a time when we had no family around to assist in care for our first born, I was so elated and relieved to find a place like CLP Logan Square. I will always remember it fondly, and I still joke with my husband about how we will never find a place that compares. read more
