I am so happy I followed my first mind and choose this location. The diversity in teachers, the super smiley director, who told me straight up I don't sit at the desk I love being in the classroom rocked my world! But that's not everything it was seeing happy babies walk out the infant classroom and parents of children all ages stopping to talk and listen to the teachers that let me know we could not have chosen a better location. the center needs some cosmetic work it gives a nostalgic vibe with modern day education for young children. read more

We are extremely happy with Childtim-Evanston. From the very beginning, the staff has been absolutely incredible--professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. It gives us such peace of mind knowing our 18month old is in a safe, nurturing, and loving environment every single day. Our daughter transitioned from the infant class with Ms. Party and Ms. Kiyah! They were both excellent, it was a difficult transition for me, being unsure what my daughter's experience will be in the Toddler room with new teachers. However, I found that she was extremely happy every morning during drop off and ran to her teachers arms. The teachers (Mrs. Parlina, Alina, and Keyorah) go above and beyond to make each child feel special and supported. They create a warm atmosphere where learning feels fun and natural, and it's clear they truly care about every child's development and happiness. Our 3 year old son also attends preschool/camp here during school breaks, and his experience has been just as wonderful. He looked forward to going, which says everything about the positive and engaging environment they provide. His teachers Mrs Maya was great! Ms. Osiana has been fantastic. Amazing staff overall. My daughter attended Childtime from 6 to 15 months of age and the only reason we took her out is because we moved to another part of town and couldn't swallow the commute. I know when it was time to go it was harder on us than her. She was absolutely adored by so many teachers at Childtime, who repeatedly told us she was a joy to have in their classrooms. She received snuggles and cuddles constantly. We have actually kept in touch with some of the awesome folk at Childtime because they made such an impression on not only us, but our daughter, as well. They have assured us if we need a backup plan for any reason, we are always welcome. A testament to their love for our daughter and their open arms. One thing Childtime has going for it is the app it uses - constant updates all day long along with photos of your kid. We moved to a paper-focused center now and the first few weeks were a rough transition not knowing when our daughter ate, slept or took a poo. But we're managing. There are pros and cons to every daycare/school (whatever you want to call it.) I loved the "wash your hands upon arrival and departure" approach and having to wear booties into all classrooms. Despite these measures, my daughter did get sick (which resulted in a sick mom, too.) But that happens everywhere. Babies put everything in their mouths. What do you expect? Overall, the "recent" negative reviews might be stones thrown in the ocean. It is extremely hard when researching care centers/schools to find up-to-date reviews anywhere publicly. I hope mine will serve as a good word for this caring and fun spot. We greatly miss Childtime, the entire staff, the incident calls (imagine going from a place that actually calls you when something happens to having to wait until you arrive at pick-up to hear about an incident...), the mobile app and overall care we felt our daughter received while attending. Yes, it is a little pricier than home day care centers, but if your child gets as much love and light as ours did, it's worth it. read more

Childtime was incredibly welcoming to both me and my infant daughter. She has several dietary restrictions and is very active. The team here was fantastic at managing her transition to the daycare, engaging her with active learning, and keeping me up-to-date with all of her activities. They were also responsive to all my questions and worked with me for everything, like transition to solid foods. This place is great for infants! read more

I'm sure we would have loved having our child attend Childtime of Evanston. However, when we toured in February, we were told that we would not need to put down a deposit until May for our projected early-July start date. My wife and I decided to go in at the end of March anyways and turned in our applications and deposit. While they were fully aware of my wife's early April due date, over two weeks later (and after we realized an inquired that our deposit had not been processed), we received an email, not even a phone call, informing us that they were sorry, but that they wouldn't have any availability until late September! As a couple that had toured and given our contact information, they should have called us and informed us of their filling roster before it filled completely. This is totally unacceptable for a highly rated facility. If you tour, I would advise putting down your deposit that day otherwise you may be left scrambling to find a different daycare in hopes you can get on someone else's waiting list! My son has been going to Childtime for 4 months now, and I absolutely love it. The teachers really care about him. Joi is an amazing director that creates a sense of community. Childtime has events all year long to help build that community and get parents together. They also build portfolios with your kid's updates and projects and have parent/teacher conferences. The meal plans, daily schedule, and curriculum are posted on the wall to view as well. To top it off, they have a very flexible schedule, which is useful for us. My husband is a teacher and I work from home a few days a week, so they work with our schedule. It's a great school! read more

My infant was here since 6weeks age. Since i work full time in hospital next door. I had 6months experience with them. For the most part im not happy with their care, but i did not have a better choice at the beginning. The director, Joi not very helpful if ur baby has any sort of problem. Since day 1 the teacher in infant room 1, was complaining everyday about my baby being fussy, crying all the time, can not stand still, etc. after he became 2months and more mature they were nicer slightly. But there was no single month that my baby wouldn't be sick. Different sorts of colds, diarrhea, fever, hand foot mouth disease.., and the minute he was having a little extra bowel movement or fever they would give u a rough call saying come and take ur child right away. The teachers do not take enough time showing love to growing infants, i did not observe much developmental educations for them. Couple of days other infants would bite my baby's cheek or scratch him and i would just get a call saying we have to report this incidence, not even sorry about what happened. Eventually had to take him out of daycare, since he ended up being in hospital for 2days, so i decided to keep him at home for a while. They charged me for 2 extra weeks due to NOT notifying them earlier, without any compassion or understanding of what they did to my infant by bad care, low hygiene and lack of empathy. Most days i would observe infants are crawling by themselves under cribs and putting stuff in their mouth, with runny nose dripping mucous out of their nose. This place needs younger and more motivated teachers for infants. needs a better hygiene, and needs better customer service. read more

A horrible place to send your kids. I just pulled my daughter out of the school after watching a video of her being mistreated by her teacher, Marcella Webster-Durr. I have walked on a teacher hitting a child, walked on another teacher pushing kids out of her way and now witnessed my child being told not to participate in a classroom experiment while the rest of the kids were. Each time I witnessed the mistreatment I brought it to managers attention, Joi and the district manager, but I was told each time that the only thing they can do is have a talk with the teachers so they won't do it again. It's clear that they care about protecting the teachers rather than the kids. The teachers act playful and caring when parents are present but treat them harshly when they think no one is watching. It is painful and heartbreaking to see your 4 years old child made to feel less important than the rest of her classmates. read more

I witnessed very rough treatment of an infant while I was there for a visit recently. It was in the 6-12 month room. When the teacher saw me at the window, she changed completely, tickling the baby and playing with her. Worse, the administrator who was with me did not say a word. My child will not be going here. I'm sad for the children in that room. Everything else seemed ok, but I can't overlook what I saw. read more

We feel so fortunate for our 2 1/2 years at Childtime. The care and nurturing extends beyond the classroom to all all teachers and staff, who greeted her enthusiastically every morning. And even our particularly "spirited" 4-year-old was never disciplined, but rather redirected, etc. We'll definitely miss our Childtime family. read more

My child has attended Childtime for several months and I've been extremely happy with the care provided to my infant. He is currently in the Infant 2 class with Ms. Patty and I find her to be one of the most patient, kind hearted, and attentive care providers out there. My child has made tremendous developmental strides since being in her class. When Ms. Patty needs assistance or is not available, the support teachers Ms. Yolanda, Ms. Candace, Ms. Darlene (to name just a few) have all been outstanding in caring for my child. Special mention to Ms. Trisha, whose oversight in the Infant 1 class is simply comforting when my son arrives earlier than planned - she's just amazing. The staff are all engaging and professional towards all the kiddos from my experience. Administration (Amanda, Joi, and Sheryl) prove very responsive to our needs as a family and communicative as appropriate. I absolutely recommend Childtime, particularly Ms. Patty, Ms. Trisha and the Infant rooms, as we have had a nothing but pleasurable experience. read more

We love Childtime! Our 15 month old son has been enrolled here since he was an infant and has been surrounded by a loving, nurturing and educational environment at Childtime that really eased this first-time mom's mind about going back to work so soon (not that I had a choice but that's another subject....). He continues to surprise me with the little things he knows how to do: wipe his mouth and hands with a napkin, blow his nose, clean up when asked...I could go on and on. More importantly, we have a confident, smart, loving little boy and Childtime has been a big part of that. My husband and I both commute over 20 miles north, each way, every day. We wanted to move closer to our offices but held off for over a year and continued to battle traffic solely because we didn't want to take our son out of a place where he is clearly so happy and loved. Sadly, the commute has become too much for us so we made the difficult decision to change his child care, but I cannot say enough wonderful things about the foundation Childtime has given him. Everyone, from the most junior teacher to the center director, has been wonderful, and we can't ask for much more for our little boy. read more

Great program! My daughter has been coming here for about a year. She's really shy and the staff at Childtime has brought her out of her shell. One thing I noticed when touring the school is they utilize something very similar to the nursing process in working with children (google this if you're not aware of what this is). Our 1 year old has attended Childtime for 10 months and we have been pleased with the care of our baby at the center. Our child is always happy to see the teachers and staff. The teachers are friendly, observant and open to discussing how our child is doing. We receive a report everyday describing eating, sleeping, and diapering habits. In addition, the kids have individual binders full of pictures and crafts documenting the fun activities they do. Overall we are very satisfied with Childtime. read more

I am a performer who has visited Child Time for many years every summer! The staff are warm & welcoming. The kids seem happy & appear to be treated with TLC. This used to be a great center. The new director is awful. Her newsletters, emails & patent communications use bad grammar and are peppered with misspellings. This does not inspire confidence. She has been continually rude and not understanding at all of our difficult family situation. She sends threatening emails and has turned my kids away and hurt their feelings. The center has gone rapidly downhill since she took over. Teachers have left, classrooms are empty & the fun learning environment has turned negative and scary. I have been repeatedly over charged and if I didn't read my receipts carefully I would never have known. She thought I wouldn't be smart enough to take the time to do a little basic math but I was. She is rude, mean & deceitful. Do not give them your hard earned money. The teachers have always been great and I have no problems with them but administration sets the tone of a center and the administration is awful. Don't waste your time and don't send your kids here. read more

I didn't take my child here, but I did take the tour. The woman who gave us the tour hardly looked at my child. We peeked through the doors at the children in each room. It was set up like a psych ward. I don' t think they give bad care here, but I can bet that the teachers are underpaid and I really think that they don't have enough space to really make it fun for kids. read more

I recently toured the facility and i hated it. I am very detail oriented person so when i was looking through the windows of each classroom, I found that the classrooms are dirty, teachers look tired and very few toys for children to play with. Such an awful place. I can't send my child there. The person who showed my the place talked more about fees than anything else. read more

This place does not do a good job of caring for your child. The place is not clean, the food is subpar, they don't retain the good teachers, and communication to the parents is extremely poor. Some of the teachers are clearly just there for a paycheck and aren't suited to care for children, as they obviously hire some teachers at a lower scale for profiting purposes. They try to cover up illnesses such as hand, foot, and mouth disease as well as ALLOW kids to come in with active sores. They don't care if your child gets sick, as they only care about keeping your monthly tuition. The assistant director is the most unprofessional; however, the administration's professionalism in general is less to be desired. For example, I received a call that my child was hurt, and the directors giggled while I was questioning my child about the "accident" and my child's well-being. Some of the teachers don't follow the proper hand washing or toy washing protocol. This place was a huge disappointment and is totally overpriced for the low level of service that's received. Don't send your child to this place, you will regret it. read more

Our daughter has been at Childtime since she was 10 weeks old. It was recommended by one of the preschool directors in the area. Today, our daughter is almost 2 1/2. She started in the infant room with two of the most caring teachers around. They still see her each day and have watched her grow. At a time when I was very nervous about having my only child in daycare, they put me at ease. They have a caring staff and we have enjoyed getting to know the parents of some of the children as well.
