Against my better judgement, I let my wife talk me into going to this place last night. We were told it was a 5 minute wait, then told 15 minutes. Finally after 45 minutes of looking at a restaurant full of empty dirty tables, the manager (by title only cause obviously he wasn't managing anything) told my wife that she didn't know how restaurants work. Horrible curbside service. Order placed an hour in advance, arrived just to wait in the parking lot another hour. Payed online, people were showing up placing orders while they were in the parking lot and paying with a card and still getting order before us. I like to order the California avocado bacon chicken sandwich for lunch when I decide to eat at Chili's. I have eaten the sandwich at several different Chili's restaurants around Corpus, San Antonio,Portland,Houston and in the Valley. Started with the salad of which was very little (old lettuce) a lot of croutons. When the sandwich finally came very small and old lettuce a sliver of avocado and tomato. Chicken was small and dry. Will not be ordering it from this location. read more

Terrible customer service. Both gals behind the bar were more focused on taking care of 3 guests rather than the other 10 there. Fajitas were good. Tonight I took my kids in for dinner at about 7. We were sat promptly. Waited about 15 minutes before anyone noticed us. Got our drinks ordered appetizers. Once the appetizers came, we ate them up and waited another 20 minutes before we got or order even taken. My son got the big mouth bites, my sons girlfriend got a steak, my daughter got Cajun chicken pasta and I got the chicken crispers. We waited for 45 minutes for our food to come out! When it did, my sons big mouth bites were a regular burger cut into 4 pieces. The runner called it a kids burger! Red flag number 1. My sons girlfriend got her steak rare.. it was medium well almost to the point of being well done, red flag number 2. My daughters Cajun chicken pasta was so dry. The chicken looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 6 days red, red flag number 3! The waitress came over and said she spoke to her manager about the big mouth bites and the steak asked what we wanted to do. My sons girlfriend didn't want to eat it.....It was almost burnt! My son went ahead and hate his big mouth bites.( the burger that was literally cut into 4 triangles) she assured us the steak would get taken off. We waited and waited for the steak to get taken off the bill as it was not to her liking. She even tried to stomach it but it was just tough. 20 minutes I gave up on waiting for my refill and to take the steak off, I just went ahead and paid for it. This chilis has gone down so much in the last few years. It will be a while before I return or even if I do return. I'm utterly disappointed with how dinner went tonight and the money I paid for it. First the bad: tonight we had the worst service I've ever had. I won't name her name. She is young, I wanted to like her, but it was a nightmare. I am mad because my mother had had laser eye surgery. She had some pain. We came to Chili's as a treat. Our waitress needed to tell us though that she felt "tired". I used to work at Denny's. I didn't share my personal woes with patrons. There was another issue later, but I don't feel like getting into it. I love, though, the waitress Norma. She is mature, she is fast, efficient, generous, smart, complimentary, and could teach little missy a thing or TWO. Norma is the reason we'll go back. I've had her 3-4 times in the past. I won't name the bad server. I am not cruel. I just hope that once management sees this they make sure servers focus on the guests, and how tired we are (my mom had just had laser surgery on her eyes!) rather than herself. read more

We ordered a dinner for 2 plus an extra appetizer. One of our appetizers was the Texas cheese fries. We ordered the extra chili and regretted it Because it tasted burned. I can't believe they served it to people like that. Secondly, one of our entrees was the half rack of ribs..... Since when is a half rack 4 RIBS? Seriously? I feel cheated. Went to Chili's in Alice and as always it was a big disappointment. Had to wait for a table for two and wasn't busy. The server was rude and inattentive. Food was cold and not played well. Our server never checked on us after food was served and did not refill our drinks. I always have a bad experience at this Chili's and will not return. There isn't a whole hell of a lot to choose from, so I popped in the one name I did recognize, Chilis. Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted, super friendly service, and had a glass of wine. We ordered one of the Mexican bowls, nothing thrilling (Chipolte is better) and my brother had a turkey sandwich. I did notice it was quite the hopping place for oil field guys looking to come in and have drinks. Good happy hour with cheap food, nice TV for sports watching, and good service. read more

I have to say that i order more to go than eat in. So I tip according to the food and service of the previous visit. If the service AND food are good I will tip 15% and it goes up according to how attentive the staff is and how well the meal is prepared. I do not tip less than 15% unless it is to tip nothing. I have been known to tip up to 50%. That being said; i placed an order yesterday and it was terrible. Strawberry Lemonade - taste was good. But now they are med instead of the usual large size. Did not like that. Caesar Salad - if you can call a cup of lettuce a Caesar Salad. And i mean all i got was the lettuce and dressing. Classic Sirloin* - 6oz -it was medium rare ! Medium Well - It was not! Corn On The Cob - excellent Loaded Mashed Potatoes - excellent. I asked for them to Include silverware with my order (fork, knife, spoon and napkins). - They did not. But at least i did get a straw this time. Next time I order online there will definitely be no tip! When i picked up my meal yesterday i did not leave a tip as my last visit was less than mediocre. Took over one hour and fifteen minutes in a half full restaurant to get our food. Arrived cold and staff clearly lied when they continued to say it was coming out. No manager available. They did not have the appetizer I wanted and I had to settle for the cheese sticks which were ok. I wanted the onion rings. A coworker was brought potato soup that was poorly made/served. I ordered the new pork carnitas tacos with black beans and cilantro lime rice and I was so impressed! Best meal I have had in Alice in a long time. Usually chilis is average for me but this meal was flavorful and savory. Fresh ingredients really make a difference. My hubby got a double party burger and perfectly cooked fries. On-line menu for Chili's in Alice, TX, shows New England clam chowder by the cup or bowl. This place doesn't have it and never did per the waitress. She did check when I showed her the entry. The reply was "only some restaurants" and I was informed that this was, indeed, the only Alice restaurant. So much for accuracy on Yelp. Service was slow. The music is much too loud for comfortable conversation. The place was not busy, either. Burgers were well prepared and tasty. We both liked the fries. The waitress was friendly. It just wasn't that good. I've had better at other chili's. First the water they served tasted like dirt. Maybe that's how the water taste here but there's no reason they couldn't filter it. I ordered chicken fajitas and they were ok, nice portion but you get no guacamole, sour cream, or cheese with it. I've never seen any restaurant serve fajitas with out cheese, pico, sour cream and guacamole. The flour tortillas came in tin foil as normal but instead of them being rolled up, the person that put them together stacked four tortillas and folded them up like a dish towel. Probably the best Chilis I've been to, and I'm not talking about the food. They were on a limited menu due to Hurricane Harvey. The place was relatively busy, and our bar waitress was great. The manager was helping the staff to get the food out. They had a brief meeting in the back, everyone was happy, clapping and smiling, the energy was incredible.
